I have been going to Hillery's since 1974 - when they were located on Lewis Ave in North Chicago. Before that, I went to a little place on Sheridan rd in North Chicago (Partners) but after it burned down I started going to the place on Lewis Ave.
The ribs at the Sheridan Rd location (the one that burned down) tasted identical to Hillery's, so I am guessing it was reborn as Hillery's.
After the place on Lewis Ave in Waukegan closed, I started going to the N. Lewis location in Waukegan.
I have also gotten ribs from both the Kenosha and Round Lake (before it closed) locations.

I’m not sure how the owner has maintained this place for so long when she is unkind to customers who support her business. Food used to be good but now its on par with customer service.

The food is delicious. But they need to hire somebody to answer the phone and take orders. It takes at least 20 minutes to make a order. People have to sit and wait 20 minutes. Because they don't answer the phone.

I use to come here often when i use to live in the area. Now that i live in Maryland its still such a treat to come and get the rib tips whenever im in town. Its something about that BBQ smell that just gets me. And the taste...absolutely amazing. Customer service is excellent. Very warm and friendly.

Darn so sad and disappointed I thought I would give them a try again my RibTips were crusty over cooked tasted burnt. Not smoky burnt. Sigh. Never ever again. I used to love the North Chicago Location. One still hungry and disappointed customer. I wish I could share the picture I took

Horrible, gave me yesterday ribs, cashier is rude, barbecue was chewy and look like dog food, never ever going back, don't waste your time......those were polishes instead of Hot links know the difference ??

I DIDNT WANT TO GIVE ANY STARS BUT HAD TO GIVE ONE STAR. THE GUY THAT ANSWERED THE PHONE WAS RUDE AND HE GOT MY ORDER WRONG AFTER HE REPEATED IT BACK TO ME. THE LADY THAT RANG ME OUT WAS NICE BUT THE GUY WAS RUDE AT CASH REGISTER AND ALMOST POSITIVE THAT HES THE ONE THAT ANSWERED THE PHONE. FOOD WAS NASTY AS HELL! FOR A PLACE THAT AINT EVER OPEN YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD DO OR BE BETTER! I WILL DRIVE TO WAUKEGAN AND GET BIG EDS FROM NOW ON!
