This is our Kenosha go-to for authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price. It has never disappointed my family. Some favorites include traditional carne asada tacos with onion and cilantro as well as ground beef tamales with ranchero sauce.

Inside the restaurant the entire interior is a hand painted mural or beautiful scenery! The Horchata is to die for! I had a carné asada burrito and my girl had the enchiladas! We were stuffed and still had leftovers for lunch the following day! Most definitely recommend Tacos El Norte if you love authentic Mexican cuisine!

I have been going to tacos el norte since it first opened in Kenosha. I always love going to eat here it reminds me of my dad and when I was a kid. Now every time I go the food is not so good. I'm sorry to say but this last time the woman at the front counter didn't even greet and she was rude. And as for the food it was not well put together at all. I feel like they rushed it and slapped everything everywhere that my whole flour tortilla for my burrito was soaking in grease and nasty that it made my stomach hurt. I use to eat here all the time now I come once in a while and now I remember why because the food is not so good anymore. I'm not sure if someone else owns the restaurant or what or new cooks but they suck.

Avoid this place unless you are ok with letting the restaurant decide how much you want allow for the tip. I will not return.
Tacos el norte kenosha is soooo good. Been coming here for decades and stop in whenever I’m in Kenosha. Super clean, fast service, fast kitchen. Friendly staff. Food is always tasty and the right temperature. Good portions. Flexible on special requests. I had a Torta dinner ( adds beans and rice) with mix of steak and chorizo. Give them a try and you won’t be disappointed.
