We had a large party of 9-- kids and adults. Everyone was satisfied with their meal. Our server was very informed with the menu items and able to answer all our questions. I felt there was a good assortment to please all our palates--those who enjoyed spicy and those who do not. Their homemade sauce offerings were sweet, spicy, or smoky. Smoky was the favorite of our table. We were visiting Kenosha just for the day, and I think we found one of the best places to eat.

Went there over the weekend the bartender kept trying to sell me on the brisket I decided to get it because she wouldn't stop. She said it's so tender you could eat it with a spoon, huge lie the meat was chewy and was slightly sour like it was made several days earlier and has been going from cooler to warmer since. Brisket isn't cheap which I get but the cooks should at least try it before sending it out. Also both of my beers were expired. Not a big deal but just shows the beer doesn't get rotated or simply doesn't sell. Probably both since we never see people in there when we drive by but decided to try it because of the positive reviews.Response to the owner: We made no complaints because we figured our dog could eat what we wouldn't. For that reason we felt no need to complain or ask for a manager. Not to mention our visit already wasn't going great why add to it at that moment? The reason there was a "delay" in leaving a review is because I'm not the type to leave a review the very second or even minutes within the bad experience. We were busy when we got home, as well as the day that followed. Last night I couldn't sleep so I decided to share my experience. The beer was Miller 64. As for the bill we are not looking for a refund just wanted to share our experience. Not to mention who keeps their restaurant receipts ours went right in the garbage when we got home. The bartender was a lady probably in her early 50s and had dark hair and was pretty energetic not sure if that helps and I apologize but I do not remember her name. Thank you for the response.

Wife and I were visiting from St. Louis for the Renaissance faire and holy cow was it some of the best BBQ. The smoked chicken was absolutely the juiciest most tender chicken I've ever had they weren't kidding about taking care about their brisket and Gina was very attentive and kind. Definitely looking forward to returning next year.

We were in the downtown area and wanted to stop for lunch. Decided on The Down Town'R - definitely not disappointed. Our bartender, Gina, was knowledgeable and a delightful representation of the establishment. Food and drinks were great. Will definitely be back.

5+1Jacob was a dynamo!??? He was doing yeoman's work!It was just him tending bar and waiting tables, the Cooky (cook,) was slingin it ?Besides all that, their menu was very different from other eateries in the area. Southwestern slant on everything, but it was good!Beef enchiladas, baked potato, cheese melt, brisket melt, excellent Double whiskey sour (Beam), excellent sarsaparilla, excellent Moi (cocktail), the elote and chips, chips and salsa. All very good! And, don't forget the corn cakes!Definitely a treat for the palette ??I must also comment on the kitchen, it was very clean. (Yes, I peaked) ? That also goes along with the clean bathrooms. In any establishment, if the bathrooms are clean, the kitchens will be clean. If the bathrooms are not clean you should go somewhere else and eat.

We have been missing out that we have not tried this establishment earlier. Everything is scratch made and you can tell. We started with the house smoked wings with the spicy BBQ which were amazing. I got the chicken enchiladas that were generously filled with smoked pulled chicken. One of the best enchiladas I have ever had. The side of black beans were perfectly seasoned and a great addition. My husband had the in house smoked ribs and rated them a 9 out of 10. We were also given complementary house made chips prior to our meal that were delicious. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and hustling around the restaurant taking care of everyone. We will absolutely be back.

Good selection of beer, stout and IPA's on tap. Good selection of bottles too. Service is excellent. Tried the Cowboy Poutine, and it was excellent. Once weather permits, and given enough employees, the upstairs and rooftop will be open.Looking forward to it!

WOW! This place is a gem in town and a welcome addition to fun and delicious dining in Kenosha. While they may be relatively new, they have captured the essence of the smoked food experience and have the winning combination of ambience, hospitality, and delicious food. We visited for the first time this weekend and were greeted so warmly by the lovely and amazing woman at the bar. First, this woman deserves five-stars to herself. She was friendly, engaging, and took the time to chat with us and share history of the restaurant and food choices. Our service was top-notch. Second, the food is fantastic. We visit the south regularly and the smoked entrees here rival what we've had in Savannah and Charleston. We enjoyed the corn cakes with pepper jam and the brisket was incredibly tender and melted in our mouth. The whisky bbq sauce is also exceptional. And ps - the specialty drinks are also worth a visit. We need more dining like this in town! I wish I could provide more than 5 stars!

Absolute diamond in the rough, this place is fantastic. From the atmosphere to the food to the servers & even patrons. This place is lovely, cannot wait to come back! P.S get the bbq sampler platter, you won't regret it! ;)

Really good service, food is exceptionally good and fairly unique for the area. It isn't your standard mexican or bbq fair, and you can tell it's made with heart. I recommend stopping in and trying some appetizers during happy hour to get your feet wet and you'll definitely be coming back. Food keeps well as takeaway/leftover as well.
