The Horse & Plow Reviews
Fantastic experience!
I recently dined at the Horse & Plow in Kohler and had an amazing time. The food was absolutely delicious, and the drinks were just as good! Our server was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. The cozy atmosphere and quality service make this a must-visit spot — I’ll definitely be coming back!
Homecoming experience for our son and his date. 2 hours for two people to eat a simple dinner request. The waitress ignored them and the food took forever. This is not the first time I've experienced horrible service from the waitstaff here. I'm shocked the lack of customer service at such a nice place. Do better! The last couple years this place has changed way too much.
Don't order the catch of the day. Disappointing portion of fish.

The Horse & Plow in Sheboygan County offers a refined and cozy dining experience with a small but high-quality menu. The decor has a "light fox hunt" style, creating a welcoming "rathskeller vibe" that many find appealing. The underground parking garage makes it easy to visit even in bad weather, and the professional staff ensures good value and attentive service. Guests enjoy the good wine list, which features high and middle-tier options, and can participate in fun activities like trivia night, where friendly servers check on them frequently and bring complimentary popcorn. While some meals may not meet expectations, the overall experience is positive, especially for those seeking a cozy atmosphere and quality drinks.
The food at The Horse & Plow is excellent, with flavorful and well-prepared dishes at fair prices. Customers have praised the cheese curds, chicken tenders, steak hoagie, and Wagyu bolognese, among other menu items. However, the dining experience can be affected by the noise level, which can become overwhelming as the night goes on and the drinks flow, with tables packed tightly together and poor acoustics amplifying the sounds. Those looking for a more relaxed ambiance may prefer to take their meal to go.
