We ordered delivery, and after living in La Crosse for seven years, I’ve finally found the American Chinese food I’ve been craving.
Considering it was delivery and not straight out of the kitchen, everything was nearly perfect. The vegetables in every dish were cooked just right—nice crunch without being undercooked or over cooked.
The lo mein noodles… wow. Perfectly cooked with an amazing wok-char flavor. Such a relief after having bland, overcooked noodles from another (unnamed) place. We ordered a couple entrées—one chicken and one beef—and both were delicious.
Everything was well seasoned and balanced. Crab rangoons? Always good, and these were no exception.
The only small complaint was that the pork fried rice was slightly under-hydrated, but it was still decent and definitely wouldn’t take anything away from the overall experience.
We’ll absolutely be ordering again.

Not good for food allergies, very rude if you ask for changes in the dishes. They even told me not to order here again if I was going to Make changes due to my food allergy.

I have always loved this restaurant. I’ve been coming here since I was 16. Everyone who works there is so nice and the food is phenomenal. Ngl had to order myself some tonight from there ended up spending almost $50😂😂😂. I’m not mad about it tho cuz it’s like three days of food with how huge their portions are. 💖💖

There is no way that is chicken! What part of a chicken was that exactly? It was not only foul tasting but an odd texture like a rubber chew toy with a tasteless orange sauce, not sour not sweet and not spicy. Disgusted at the thought that I may have eaten cat or worse.

WOW! By far my favorite Chinese food restaurant in the area now!!!!! I had never ordered food from them before but today I thought meh, why not. I ordered chicken fried rice (no veggies so if you think it looks bleh- no veggies = no color) and sweet and sour chicken which was AMAZING!!!! Their food does seem to be pricier than any other Chinese restaurant in town HOWEVER, they don’t use those pre-packaged looking fried chicken pieces (you know the ones- they all look about the same size and mostly the same shape) and their sauce isn’t that really thin tangy stuff that again seems like some pre-made thing that every other restaurant serves.

Their sweet and sour chicken and the sauce are both reminiscent of the sweet and sour chicken and sauce from Peking (mom and pop Chinese restaurant that used to be on the North Side of La Crosse- they retired/ closed down years ago). If I closed my eyes- the textures, tastes, and consistency of the chicken and sauce is almost identical. Hunan had become my favorite after Peking closed, but they eventually closed as well. I had no favorites left- until now.

I can’t speak for atmosphere as I ordered my food through DoorDash, HOWEVER I can give them 4 stars for service as I was super impressed with how my food was packaged. They put a piece of cardboard in the bottom of the brown bag that my food was in (so it wouldn’t rip out- very thoughtful). The servings were so full, they had to staple the fried rice container closed. They lose one star for service because although I could have paid $1 for 6 fortune cookies, most places throw a couple in the bag for free but no fortune cookies from this place. Also- don’t lose any stars for it but after having ordered through doordash, I went online to see what their food looked like and noticed on their website that if you order through their actual website, you get free donuts or dumplings or something if you spend x amount of money (which isn’t hard to hit at all). (Why couldn’t you just throw some cookies in the bag?!) I digress.

My only other negative was that I hit a small piece of bone in a piece of chicken from my chicken fried rice but that can happen anywhere. It was just the one piece (that I’m aware of- the rest of the food all went in the refrigerator).

If you’re thinking hm… should I try this place? The answer should be yes! If you don’t like it (we all don’t like the same things) fine, but I’m guessing you’re going to like it.

I've ordered from this place for many years and have always enjoyed the food. But after ordering last night, how did it get so expensive now?! It was nearly $50 for 2 people (2 dinner specials, 1 appetizer, plus a $6 delivery tip)! Conveniently I didn't get a receipt to actually see what happened with the price. Also we ordered on the phone and the woman on the other line had such a thick accent that I couldn't understand a word she said, my husband had to do the talking. And there was a ton of background noise on the phone, it was also hard to hear through all that. The order got messed up too, I asked for crab rangoons with my dinner special, not an egg roll. The woman on the phone said our order qualified for a free appetizer, so we got spring rolls too, did she later charge us for these anyways??

I don't think I'll continue ordering from here.

If you want your food fresh and as quick as possible....you either have to go there or have a third party fulfilled your delivery needs.

Out of all Americanized Chinese spots this was one of the trusted places growing up for take out. Everything still comes hot and fresh. Same taste as I remember but dang is it over priced now. I always get the same thing, sweet and sour chicken, seseme chicken, general tso and veggie lo mein. All the deep fried items and then thrown into some sauce is still soggy as ever however flavor is there. Everything else on their menu is questionable. It’s not the best American Chinese food let’s get that clear but it’s a quick fix for when you have cravings so don’t expect 5 star quality.

Had delivery..to WEST SALEM.Devoured the steamed dumplings. The sauce (which I just opened and poured over them) was yummy and sticky. dumplings ? ? NOT thin and over-cooked..Filling was devine. Savory and the PERFECT amount. Neither underfilled nor overfilled. Top notch!**adding a photo of am empty container seemed..lackluster **
