Horrible service. Wanted to have a glass if wine in Le Cave. There were 5 empty seats at the bar. I asked the bartender if my wife and I could sit there. He said it was open. I sat and waited for my wife to join me from upstairs. Another bartender came over and said the other 4 seats were reserved now. I said that my wife was coming down, but the bartender said we had to leave.
Absolutely horrible service. Avoid this place if you can.

We were the only ones in the restaurant and it took a long time to get our food. The food was overly seasoned with pepper. Went down stairs to the bar and the bartender was super slow and there were only 2 people ahead of us (he didn’t even acknowledge us) Definitely wouldn’t come here again.

Let’s start with the basics, the food was not good. My husband ordered the duck and received a tiny plate of bland couscous topped with a very small duck breast, that to be fair was cooked at the temp requested. I ordered the steak frite. From past experience I know that when I order a steak medium rare it rarely comes that way, so I specifically asked our server if they will cook it accurately and he reassured me that their Michelin star chef would not have it any other way. Of course my steak came medium well. Realistically, it would have been difficult for anyone to cook it any other way because it was just so thin. Now, if that wasn’t enough, the whole thing was absolutely drenched in salt to the point my tongue shriveled up. This was certainly an expensive disappointment.

They did bring us a couple after dinner drinks on the house to make up for the steak, but it turned out to be an undrinkable, overly sweet, orange liquor of some type (not Cointreau).

Reviewing the service is a little more challenging because we had a very good experience in downstairs ‘La Cave’ with the bartenders before our formal dinner. The upstairs restaurant service was friendly but uneven. A restaurant pretending to be fine dining needs to train their server properly imo.

My husband and I journeyed to La Cross after hearing recommendations to visit La Cave & The Chateau- both owned by the same people and located in the same stunning vintage house. We started our evening at La Cave and had a marvelous time enjoying custom cocktails. Then we ventured upstairs to The Chateau where we enjoyed delicious French-inspired cuisine. The beautifully decorated rooms enhanced the dinning experience and each bite left us wanting more. Highly recommend!

My husband and I recently enjoyed our first meal at Le Chateau and it did not disappoint! Chef Megan cooked everything to absolute perfection! Our server, Carlee, was very attentive, friendly and professional. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend!!

Will not return....food was under-seasoned (soup tasted like old onion juice capped with a glob of goo), over cooked (steak was dry and tasteless), poorly portioned (small square of bass with thin tasteless sauce). Even the bread was mediocre! What a poor excuse for French cuisine. Total waste of our time and money

In my opinion, Ostin the bar manager at Le Chateau is one of, if not the best bartenders in lacrosse. He has consistently made some of the best cocktails I've ever had every time I visit

Food was great , typical French.
Starters are somewhat small.
Main dishes were nicely served, the duck was amazing, fish and pasta too.
Service was very slow perhaps because we were the last customers at 8 ..?
But overall a nice experience and good food, the place is quite nice as well.

We had the best time at Le Chateau. We made a point to try all kinds of apps and entrees, and everything was delicious. One of the owners, Eva, served us and was so kind and helpful in helping us choose what to order. Can’t say enough good things!

My fiance and I made a reservation for 6:30. We walked around and looked at the place and it’s utterly gorgeous. We stopped over to the hostess and got in early.

My fiance ordered the duck to well done, no bacon, and I ordered the bass. Unfortunately they were out of the bass. So I got the lobster. We waited about 45 minutes and got a couple drinks and appetizers. We then waited for another hour to get our main dishes due to a mess up with another table.

Lobster risotto looked and tasted amazing. Her dish unfortunately was full of bacon. The waitress was nice, apologetic and sent it back. It comes back out 5 minutes later still with scraps of bacon and medium rare.

Bill was 100 bucks for my fiance to not get anything more than an appetizer and 2 hours of wait. Beautiful looking food, apologetic waitress but utterly terrible experience due to the wait and food not being made as we ordered.
