Backdrop to restaurant is spectacular. Servers were very young and inattentive and claimed the chef would yell at them if we did not order out entrees with our starters. Scallops were overtaken by salt and the pasta served on was mush and also heavily salted. The steaks were fine according to those whom I was with. But ... likely will not go back.

A wonderful dining experience in one of the more unique places in La Crosse. The ambiance leans toward elegant, but no need to be dressed to the nines to dine here. Though making a reservation is a must. The French onion soup was delicious and flavorful, compared to other places where it is not. The ribeye was tender and juicy and cooked correctly. I wish there was more red win reduction to get it on my steak. The potatoes were crunchy and the brussel sprouts were a nice touch.

The faux-filet was the best steak I've had in years. Was a perfectly cooked great cut of meat and the potatoes, bacon Brussels sprouts, and onions were an excellent side. Also liked the atmosphere and that the meal wasn't rushed.

My husband and I went there for date night on 2/3/24. We had a cocktail in the Le Cave before heading up to our reservation. Bartenders there were amazing! We were seated right away and our server was very attentive. We ordered escargot, Lobster Risotto, and Dry Aged Pork. Each dish was amazing. Service was not slow, but great timing for the restaurant. It’s our 3rd time eating here. My husband’s pork was the best pork either of us had ever had.

Le Chateau has the most amazing atmosphere! Everything from the decor to the food to the staff are second to none! I have had the privilege of both dining there and also photographing a wedding as well as an engagement. I highly recommend checking it out for an amazing unique experience!

We were traveling in the area and intentionally timed it so that we could have dinner here (prior positive experience years ago). The building is beautiful and the server was nice- the dinner was abysmal. I can’t remember when I had a dinner this terrible. We ordered French onion soup, salad, ribeye steak, lobster tail and shrimp. When the soup came my husband said ‘this is not a good sign’. It had hotspots (microwaved?) tepid overall, no cheese, poor flavor. Salad was fine. The bread was smashed and both cut side were dried out like the bread had been cut hours prior, and just sat getting stale. When our dinner came, my husband dug into the lobster and I started with the vegetables . The lobster still had ice in the center and the accompanying butter was cold.My vegetables not only looked bad (no roasting, just blonde Brussels sprouts & potato) but tasted bad too. The sprouts were cold and the potato was hot but no seasoning. When the waitress stopped by, we told her we’re struggling already told about the issues she took the lobster and I said don’t worry about the brussels sprouts.Next we started our steaks. Awful. My medium well steak was less than rare. My husbands med rare steak was also less then rare.We told the server. She told the owner who instead of coming out asked that our plates be brought to him. Again, instead of coming out to speak to us he sent the server out to tell us that he felt the medium rare was medium rare, and acknowledged that the medium well was not to order.Since everything was awful, and we felt dismissed by the owner we asked if we could simply pay what we needed to and leave. We were charged $70- and we left the server $20 since it was not her fault. Please keep in mind we were charged for awful food we did not eat. We were charged $70 for a glass of wine and a salad. I would even understand them charging us something more considering food was made albeit bad however to charge us $70 for food that was objectively awful and that we did not eat is terrible business. Shame on the owner for making that call and also for not having the decency to come out to see us. I may not get to lacrosse often but I am an alumni from there and my network does, so I’ll make sure to share our experience not just on Google.

Wonderful place for a nice dinner. Service took a while in the bar downstairs. Unique menu, but some parts of our dinners were not up to par. Still best scallops I've ever had, but the pasta was very

I was very disappointed in my meal after having high expectations. My scallops were rubbery and gritty on a bed of pasta that had the consistency of wallpaper paste. The creme brulee was burnt tasting and overcooked. I've had this dessert before and know how it should look and taste. My son's roasted duck had a putrid smell to it and was a real turn off to him. I overheard people at the next table complaining about their food and even had a manager come to their table. However, our waiter was very nice and attentive and the inside of the restaurant is gorgeous. I hope this was a fluke, but I don't plan on finding out since I'll not be returning to dine there again.

We did the wine pairing dinner, the food was wonderful with a nice portion for each course. Our server did a great job pairing and educating us about the wine! We booked another dinner!

We were very disappointed in our first & last meal here. The atmosphere is nice & the drinks were very good, but the service after we were seated was very, very poor. It was not busy & we are understanding if a restaurant is short staffed, but it took a long time to be waited on once we were seated and our waiter never checked on us in between dropping off our ordered items. The cheese board & French onion soup appetizers were very good and sadly the highlight of the entire meal. The steak was raw (we ordered medium) and the frites were so salty we couldn't even eat them. We told out waiter this and his response was ok, never an apology or anything. We did have the steak boxed up because it was so expensive & we ended up cooking it at home the next morning. We also got the creme brulle (our favorite dessert) and were pretty disappointed with that as well. It was not fresh...it seemed like it had been pulled out if the fridge/freezer as the fruit on top was still frozen. We were very disappointed.

We ate in the bar separate from the dining room. Everything was really delicious. Cocktails and mocktails all rocked!
