Best kept secret in Lacrosse!
My favorite place to eat. The chef and the crew are very attentive. And the food is out of this world.

My wife and I recently visited for a date night and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was incredibly chill, and we loved everything about the place, from the stylish decor to the charming plates and silverware.
The food was mostly excellent. I ordered the burger, which was fantastic, and I can confirm that the duck fat fries are as deliciously crispy as they look. My wife had the sirloin, and while it was perfectly cooked to medium rare with great flavor, she found it a bit chewy.
This may have just been a bad draw on the steak itself.
For dessert, we indulged in the flourless chocolate cake and the mille-feuille. The mille-feuille was outstanding—I especially enjoyed the almond pastry cream. The flourless chocolate cake, though tasty, wasn't quite what we're used to. We often make it at home for special occasions, and this version leaned more towards cakey than fudgy, almost like a gluten-free take on a standard chocolate cake than your typical flour less chocolate cake which is a thing of its own. Still, we enjoyed it and finished it off.
Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return. I'm especially eager to try the elote pasta next time!
Oh. And great cocktails too.

we drive an hour to come here at least quarterly.
we came for the first time on a recommendation for my birthday and i cried at how good the food was. the food is perfectly paired with sauces and flavors. we order at least 2 appetizers and a main. i am a vegetable lover and my partner is a meat and potatoes type. there’s more than enough to accommodate all palates. the pork belly is amazing. even just the burger and fries is phenomenal. the drinks are delicious too. my partner doesn’t drink and we appreciate the alcohol-free options. the host is always incredibly friendly. 4 stars for service we have had some amazing servers and some that were ehh. it’s worth every dime and we love coming here.

Service was absolutely phenomenal. Like above and beyond. The chef cannot cook a steak. I asked for medium, I’d have been fine if it came out medium rare or medium well. It came out so well done it was grey. Sent it back, they made another that was rare. Bleeding rare. I’m pregnant and that is not something I can suffer through. If the chef cannot cook a steak, they need to take it off the menu. My green beans were also under cooked but that’s not the end of the world. The fingerling potatoes were fantastic & my husband loved the elote corn. They took off the steak & my husband’s beer for the trouble, but I went home hungry because by the time the second steak came back raw we had to leave for obligations elsewhere.

Can’t speak to the food. But my husband called earlier to reserve a table and we originally reserved it for 7 pm. We called back around 20 til 7 and changed our reservation for 8 and both times it was for outside. We got there and she immediately tried saying it was supposed to be reserved at 6. BOTH TIMES it was way after 6 and when she said it would be a while there were literally many tables free outside and inside but she said it was going to be an inside table or we could sit at the bar. We don’t drink so that’s not an option. They had my phone number so if our reservation had been at 6 they would have called. We live literally less than 5 minutes from the place we actually live on the same street. We called after 6 the second time so I don’t know why they would have assumed any of our reservations were at 6 pm. We were embarrassed to say the least. This would have been our first time here and we were really excited to try it. It was also our anniversary. But instead we left because apparently we called and spoke Spanish or a language she didn’t understand even though she confirmed what we said both times. We won’t be back there. Ever.
This is kind of an afterthought but I really feel like we were pushed out of this place. Like they for some reason didn’t want to serve us. I was dressed nicely bc it was our anniversary. My husband was casual but he works constantly and was just trying to relax. I’m not sure why they sit there and lied to us with us able to see that there were MANY tables available unless they were trying to make sure no one else saw us there. We’re not rich, but we were paying customers and they read our reservation details back to us both times we called. I’d really love it if someone here could let me know why we deserved to be treated this way. Most likely I’m going to be calling to speak to someone in the next couple of days if I don’t get a reply here.

The steak and scallops (individually, not a combination on the menu) were both outstanding! Complex flavors and quality. Service was excellent!
This was an amazing experience. Very flavorful, quality, food and drinks.
Delicious food, drinks and friendly staff. I loved the quaint neighborhood setting as well.

Hi there! This place has been a bit of a magical place for my now fiancé and I. We had our first anniversary here and it was incredible. The service, the atmosphere and especially the food. Everyone is kind, friendly, and conversational. By the time the next year rolled around we knew where we wanted to spend our second anniversary and came right on back. It was the 28th of April and as we were going through the specials with the waiter an older gentleman siting a booth away shot his warm voice over and exclaimed how amazing the starter special was. I chatted with him and as the date progressed he offered to take pictures of us, complimented my lovely then girlfriend, and was overall a joy. The waiter came back around and we weren’t getting appetizers—straight into entrees but I ordered the special the man recommended foolishly without realizing that it was a starter and switched my order to the amazing chile shrimp pasta with arugula dish. The man noticed this and smoothly moved to the waiter out of the corner of my eye and before I knew it we had the starter special. It was as good as the man exclaimed. I was going to go offer to buy the man a drink or perhaps chat with him further when he put on his cap and left for the evening. After an amazing time (to be expected when you come here) the waiter announced that the owner had comped our drinks as well. To you sir, whom I assume are the owner of Restore Public House. Thank you very much for such a wonderful evening. You have an amazing place that genuinely seems to have everything a restaurant should be about: good food and good people. I want you to know I proposed that night in your restaurant and she said yes!! I’m hoping your influence spreads wide and who knows? Might have to make anniversaries at Restore Public House a tradition.

Small resturant with limited menu options that are all excellently prepared. Menu changes frequently so no concern with lack of variety. Entrees include a few pasta, seafood and meat dishes. Usually no vegetarian option but will accommodate by subtracting meat/fish from any entree. Servers are knowledgeable, well trained (properly open a bottle of wine) and friendly. Service is efficient but not rushed.
Vegetarian options: Will modify entrees to make vegetarian but no vegetarian offerings the times I have been there.
Kid-friendliness: Dinner time not for kids

Wow, finally I found a restaurant doing truly good food here in La Crosse. Very good cocktail to start; the kimchi & cream cheese wontons were delicious (be sure to use the sauce to balance the flavors); the spaghetti w shrimp & n'duja was beautiful in balance and execution and the prosecco rose was a great pairing for it. My faith in La Crosse dining has been restored.
