In my opinion, especially with competing restaurants, it was just worse than subpar. Anytime I try a restaurant I'll try it two times and that's what I did. Prices were a little high but that's not really a big deal. The service was always great as well. It just seemed really basic. I was more disappointed than anything. Inside is a cookie cutter Mexican restaurant interior. Just wanted more flavor overall.

Tequila’s is a fairly standard Mexican-American restaurant in this area. The food is okay. It is not a place I would consider if I was looking for bold flavors and authentically made dishes. I know it’s hard not to cater to the area, but the food is often missing the spice and seasoning I crave from Mexican cuisine.Service is usually all right, but when it comes to the atmosphere, unless you want to be surrounded by the occasional loud college students coming from UW, I’d consider ordering take out.But price wise, for the portion sizes alone, makes it a decent deal.

The family that owns Tequila's make a warm and welcoming atmosphere, phenomenal food, and excellent margaritas ? ?Parking: Their parking lot by the main entrance is relatively small, so expect to park on the street and walk in on a Friday or a Saturday when they are very busy.

Since moving to La Crosse in '99, the food quality at Tequila has gone up and down over the years. I stopped going to Tequila a few years ago, during one of the downturns, stopping there only for the occasional margarita. I'm happy to report that Tequila is once again serving good food, and if you're a fan of Senor Villa down the street, give Tequila a try. Their daily specials can't be beat ($6.99 AYCE tacos on Tuesdays all day- choice of ground beef, shredded beef or chicken; $7.99 fajitas on Thursdays and Fridays). Friendly staff, warm chips, cool salsa, great margaritas, nice ambiance, convenient location. Great fried ice cream!
