Unfortunately after wanting to come back here after a great experience 6 years ago, I left still hungry and very disappointed in the meal. The only thing edible from my meal was the sausage and the cheese curds. If you don't like spicy, be careful. The cabbage was barely braised and no flavor, potato salad im 99% sure was canned. Never have I left less than 20% tip until today. Felt ignored, and took very long to get the bill We were the only 3 in originally then 3 more came and we had to ask for the check. Sad to be taking this off my go-to list as Im never in La Crosse. Will not be coming back.
The manager possibly Eric? Was making the green beer and he was definitely the only reason we originally stayed.
Sorry to be harsh-ish but better to tell the truth.

I won 100 dollars playing their blackjack machine. These THEIFS! REFUSED TO PAY ME. Thief swindling evil incompetent people. The one bartender Alexandria saw the receipt that confirmed the payment then conveniently “forgot” it existed after throwing the receipt away. Don’t give these swindlers a dime! Unfair!!!! 😡😤🤬
This heinous event occurred at 1:44 pm 1/17 and I have video evidence!
A great beer house. Got the special and it was very good. We even had live German music

The Jägerschnitzel was very flavorful as were the sides of kartoffelsalat and spatzle (spatzle was a touch salty). The liter of Hacker Pschorr Märzen was filling but oh so good!

La Crosse Bierhaus – Review
La Crosse Bierhaus brings Bavarian charm to Wisconsin with a solid lineup of German beers and classic pub fare. Expect pretzels, schnitzel, brats, and other hearty dishes served in a lively beer hall atmosphere. The decor leans rustic and festive, and there's often live music or events adding to the energy. Service is efficient, and the beer selection is the star. Great spot for groups, casual nights out, or anyone craving a taste of Germany.

So, where to begin…
If I could give no stars I would.
We arrived at roughly 4:30, there were 4 of us. Place was pretty much empty. Our server was polite and brought out waters quickly.
We ordered a couple beers, she offered us a sample… all is going well at this point.
We ordered the pretzel for an appetizer, and it was the best part of the meal.
After the pretzel arrived it was a significant amount of time before we saw our server again.
We ordered the Saturday special , which was a chicken schnitzel, and the pork schnitzel which was not on special.
After about a 40 minute wait our food arrived. Of the four of us, two got the special and two ordered the regular dinner. The portions on the specials were considerably smaller than the regular entrees. All of them were fried to hockey puck status. The sauerkraut was bland and inedible. The red cabbage tasted like cardboard.
We left a majority of the food on the plate. Had it not been for the pretzel appetizer, which was gigantic, we would have left hungry.
The reason for the service rating is because as we were paying the bill, we mentioned the sub par food, the server’s response was “ yea, those looked way over done to me too.” So after all that, the servers thought the food looked bad, and yet served it anyway.
As we waited and waited for our check more and more people started to enter and the place filled up quickly. Our server was not only serving and bussing tables, she was slinging drinks behind the bar. She was definitely slammed, and this review is not directed at her, but rather whoever the manager is for not having the proper staffing.
Bottom line is the food was horrible and the insufficient staffing made the experience less than enjoyable. Will not be going back.

$24 for 2 drinks. Half of a shot in each drink. Bartender gave very poor service. Used to recommend this place but not anymore.

Cool vibe. Live polka. Monster Bavarian pretzels with mustard. Great selection of German and a curated selection of Wisconsin and Minnesota beers.
My only disappointment was when I ordered the Beyond Burger (they also have a Beyond Brat). It was clearly cooked on the same grill top as beef/other meats, and the server confirmed it. I don't want beef on my meatless meal.
Do better, management. Don't offer vegetarian entrees if you do this type of stuff. It's misleading and immoral.

Actively serves not only underage drinkers but children down to the age of 14. When I spoke to the bouncers, bartenders, and managers they all said they didn’t check ids and it wasn’t there issue. The last time I was there there were women vomiting on the floor of the bar who couldn’t stand up straight because they were over served and the bouncer laughed while saying she needed a hospital and when I said no she actually does he laughed even harder… that girl overdosed on alcohol on the ground and I had to call an ambulance for her because not one single person working would take me seriously. This bar should be shut DOWN!

Amazing food, beer, and atmosphere! It was a joy and I will definitely be back! Went with some friends and we shared a couple appetizers plus our meals. Even the sides were outstanding! Plus fun and appropriate live music! The entire experience was a salve for my soul.

Great service. *Decent* german-american food. Ive had better though. Although permitted by Wisconsin law, this place dosent let <21 drink with their parents. Which makes sense, and of course it's their decision. Has a very good selection of non-alchoholics though. Overall 6.5/10 if i had to put it on that scale.
