We had a great experience at Mars for New Years Eve! It was crowded but the wait for a table wasn’t too long and we enjoyed watching the bartenders- what a bunch of hardworking ladies! Food was excellent, our server had great recommendations, and all staff from the manager to the bus people were polite and attentive.

Sunday dinner with friends. Food was good. Fortunate to be able to walk in. Nice view of Lake Como. Fortunate to find a parking spot. Mars has a reputation for LENGTHY WAITS. Called them the day before to inquire about wait times at least 15 times and hostess did not answer. Asked about this after dinner and the brusque hostess said they had been very busy and answering the phone was not a priority, “we have better things to do.” Waitress was attentive but not engaged. Customer service is not a priority here — the attitude seems to be ‘this is the way we are, but you’ll come anyway.’ Sad. Not sure we would come back.

We visited sat July 19th I was up from Florida visiting and was told this is a great place! We waited a while for a table 14 of us and out back you can sit on the waterfront of Lake Como with servers as you wait for your table! Kylie was our server out back and she was absolutely gorgeous and an extremely great asset to Mars Restaurant! Great personality her service was 2nd TO NONE! She was very knowledgeable great personality and made sure we were constantly taken care of! Our drinks were never empty and like I said 14 of us! When we got our table our new server was Leah(spelling?) She was absolutely fantastic a beautiful young women again great knowledge and personality 2 for 2 Mars! Great Job! She was extremely attentive drinks never empty food put in correctly and brought out promptly with great timing!!! Thank you Kylie, Leah and Mars Restaurant! Sincerely Jim Bacon!

The food and service was amazing! If you’re in a hurry… This is not your place. We arrived and had a 60 minute wait… Ended up getting seated within 55 minutes… Outside seating with live music plus inside piano bar which was a nice bonus. Food did not come out quickly… But we were there for a relaxing meal and the service was amazing! The charred chicken and ribs were excellent and highly recommend. The only drawback is there is no parking… Parked about a half a mile away.

The wait to eat inside was 2.5-3 hours on a Saturday night!! We walked down to the beach bar area and they had a bar menu with sandwiches, burgers, etc and decided to eat there and watch sunset. Sandwiches were great, drinks good and sunset beautiful!

Love Wisconsin Fish Frys, this place has got all others beat hands down. Mars Resort sits on a sandy beach on the lake with a beautiful view. Old fashion supper club atmosphere, complete with piano bar and old fashions. Their Fish fry is out of this world. We had the pan-friedd walleye and the pan-fried perch with clam chowder, salad, and potato pancakes. Everything was fantastic. Service was great, friendly, and just perfect. Couldn't have been better. If you are in the area, I highly recommend stopping in and having a bite to eat or a beverage.

Disappointing. one disliked the bbq sauce used on the ribs but ate them anyway because of the price, soup & sides were ok, hamburger ordered medium was well done, dry and tasteless, other two meals were described as so-so. service was good and the complimentary pontoon boat ride was nice….a basic ride around the lake with no commentary as to what was being seen. it was free so cant complain. weather was perfect, place was busy as usual.

May be a cool place if you find an off-time to go. We waited 20 minutes to put our names on the wait list only to learn it would be a minimum 2 hours. FOH staff was very unfriendly, would not recommend for families.

This is probable our 7th time dining here and we drive up on a regular basis from the Northen Suburbs of Chicago. To say their least their B-B-Que are probably one of the best that I ever had. The view of Lake Como is exceptional, and the service is excellent. They have an excellent outdoor patio area. Get there early, they do not take reservations, and they are ALWAYS busy.
Dinner with a large group worked out very well. The staff were quick and the food was great. Nice old place in Lake Geneva that has a great deal history and it shows in the details. The fish fry was great and everyone loved the food and beverages.

The experience started out good! Drinks & calamari appetizer. When our food arrived, the patty melt was overcooked and tepid. The Reuben was more cold than hot. It was evident that the sandwiches were sitting for a while before being served; even the fries were cold. Unfortunately, we didn’t see our waitress to let her know about the order.
