The Getaway on Lake Como Reviews
The burger and lasagna was burnt.lobster was chewy with no flavor. The best thing we ate was the cheese curds. We have gone for breakfast and enjoyed it but this place is not good for lunch/dinner.When you spend 200$ for 5 people to eat you expect better quality.
I'd recommend the Getaway for a table of four or less only. We met four other couples from Minnesota, Illinois and Indiana. Ten of us total. After ordering drinks the waitress informed us they wouldn't do separate checks. One check for 10 people and we had to sort it out ourselves, not that difficult but each couple had to dig up around $80 each to to reimburse our friend who paid the $450 tab with his credit card?
Was up from Florida visiting friends and stopped here for breakfast. The place is very nice food fantastic and service even better! Not sure spelling but Kylie was our server and right of the bat beautiful young lady fantastic smile and personality out of this world! She was extremely knowledgeable very attentive great sense of humor! Kylie is a great asset to The Getaway and food was top notch! Thank you for a great start to the day Friday July 18th! Sincerely Jim Bacon!

The Getaway on Lake Como is a charming restaurant offering delicious food and drinks with beautiful views of the lake. The place can get quite crowded, but the service remains friendly and attentive. Breakfast options include "The Bootlegger," a large biscuit sandwich with eggs, cheese, and crispy fried chicken strips in sausage gravy, served with potato slices. The breakfast menu features a biscuit platter, waffles, French toast, and avocado toast, all praised for their taste and large portions. Guests enjoy the lovely lake views, which include a few boats on the water, creating an old school family-run feel.
Dinner at The Getaway is a delightful experience. Reservations are recommended, and the restaurant offers a variety of tasty cocktails. Appetizers such as mussels and the Ricotta & honeycomb are highly recommended. Entrees like Salmon picatta, shrimp and scallop diablo, prime rib, grouper, broasted chicken, and pasta dishes are generously portioned. The crab legs, spinach salad, and seafood bisque are also popular choices. Guests note that the large portion sizes often lead to leftovers. The service, food and ambiance are all great. Visitors are treated to a beautiful sunset and enjoy a lovely spot to enjoy lake views and good food.
