As someone who is not a big beer drinker, I appreciate the self-serve, pay-by-the-ounce setup that allows you to taste only as much as you want without being wasteful. I ate the turkey panini and it was so good our group kept talking about it several days later. I live out-of-state but will definitely return whenever I visit the Lake Geneva area again!“

“My significant other and I sure had a blast playing bowling. The bar located right inside sure makes it great. The drinks are phenomenal and I cannot wait to go back for a rematch on the game but more specifically for the drinks. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere was great. Everyone there is so kind.“

“Very much enjoyed our anniversary at The Getaway! Sat out on their beautiful deck. The calamari was superb, my husband loved his chicken Marsala and I really enjoyed the shrimp Diablo. Our waitress Denise was a pro and added to the great experience. We will be back!“

“Great place if you love dancing. It doesn't start till 9-10pm and usually goes till 2am. You can really get a great workout out sweating it up on the dance floor. That's for sure. Staff is always nice and friendly. But sometimes it's a little busy and crowded to get in line and wait for a drink , but that's to be expected at any busy bar. They also throw a lot of themed dance parties that are just so fun. Highly recommend.“

“Nice patio overlooking beautiful green golf course. A few tables. Lots of colorful flowers.Good cheese curds. Grilled chicken sandwiches were delicious. Moist big piece of chicken. Small good coleslaw or crispy French fries. Service was the best. Attentive and very friendly. Clean cool and pleasant inside“

“The staff are great here. Very up front and they take care of you. Let us know right away that food was very limited that day, and recommended local establishments very accommodating. Good selection of spirits especially bourbon and whiskey. Fun nostalgia on the walls as well. Great place to grab drinks if you're a local or if you're passing through.“

“The BEST fish fry in the area. A hidden gem. Tracy's potato pancakes are the star but the walleye, cole slaw, and rye bread are great as well. Lots of friendly people around the bar too, which Penny ran beautifully. Get yourself in here.“

“I want to begin by saying that we love this place. BUT, the service and food were just horrible. My husband's wings were good but my nachos were terrible. The lack of beef was covered up with lettuce and triple helping of sour cream. I left hungry. We usually stay for more than 1 drink, but I had to get out of there due to a very miserable child screaming for its mother to pay attention to her. Just an overall unpleasant experience.“

“Stopped in for the Fish fry, had the cod. It was great, loved the potatoe pancakes! the portion was so generous, I couldn't finish it. The service was good and the owner took time to introduce himself and ask how things were. We will be back!“

“The food was some of the best I've had in Walworth County. I Understand that it was 12:30pm on a Saturday and they were extremely busy but it was so noisy that you couldn't have a conversation. Staff was very pleasant. I will be returning but will select off-peak hours for my visit.“

“I've been here a couple of times for lunch. Sandwiches are good and plentiful. What I really want to talk about is the Tuesday night rib special. It consists of a very generous half rack of perfectly cooked, flavourful ribs, with a choice of Fries or baked potatoes and really good, creamy cole slaw. Jenny was a perfect server. I'm hoping telling everyone about this won't keep me from getting a seat the next Tuesday I head out there.“

“We bike the White River Trail on Friday nights and happened to stop in to a very delightful seafood meal. The cook is very friendly and his food is delicious. Not your normal bar food, I would highly recommend it !!!“

“We held a bridal shower for 50 people in the Cobalt Lounge a few weeks ago. I can't say enough good things about our experience. I originally booked the venue site unseen when they were closed for the winter season but Frank was great and easy to communicate with and gave a tour to the bride and her mom when they opened for the season in May. Closer to the shower Gabbi coordinated everything with me (menu, setup, etc) and was great and very fast to respond to all my questions. The day of the event, Nate was our bartender and helped everything run smoothly. He was super friendly and easy to work with. I requested a last minute table out on the patio and he set it up quickly while I was decorating the room. All the food was ready at the scheduled time and was delicious. A very reasonable rate for the amount of food served. Everyone that attended the shower had wonderful things to say about the venue, the food and the VIEW! A wall of windows overlooking the lake was absolutely amazing. I would absolutely recommend Gordy's and the Cobalt Lounge and they would be my first choice for any future events/showers that I'm a part of“

“We attended the Hypnotized event on Saturday and it was so much fun. The event space is large and the tables are well spaced so you don’t feel crowded. There are 2 bars and bathrooms. The food was better than expected given the size of the event. The band was great and there was room up front to dance…which we did the entire time. It was the perfect way to celebrate our birthdays! We highly recommend Pier 290.“
