If you want to burn your tongue and support a business that's run by a woman with the least customer service compatible personality ever to exist, this is the place for you! However, there is one pro; the shell gas station down the block has a decent coffee selection and staff who aren't dead in the eyes and black in the heart.

THIS IS THE BEST COFFE SHOP IN NORTH AMERICA. I come here about 3-5 times a year and always have my expectations met with flying colors. The food is to die for and the staff seem as nice as family. Really one of the top 2 places in Lakewood!

I’ve been coming to Northern Perks for many years, every time I’m visiting the Lakewood area. And in all that time I’ve never had a good vibe from the most of the staff including the owner. My last visit makes me not want to go back as I witnessed snarky comments being made to multiple customers. They are very rude to and seem bothered if you want to order anything. They try to put on a good face but it feels very forced and unwelcome. While their store is cute and fun to browse they are pricey and they seem paranoid of shoplifters, often following you around. While I want to speak highly of this place I just can’t based on how poor mannered the staff and owner are. So take it for what it’s worth. I hope they realize they their customers are what keep them in business and they should be treated with respect!

Bought 2 stickers showing the wrong lake/body of water. Came back with them the following weekend without the receipt (who keeps a receipt for 2 stickers?!) and asked to exchange them. Nope! Not without the receipt. “Otherwise, what people do is, they come in here and steal and then return to get something else.” Uhh, ma’am, that’s not a thing. But, I promise, if I’m going to steal, a) it won’t be stickers, b) I’ll steal the right stuff or c) I’ll just swap em myself and you’ll be none the wiser. So, apparently, that’s the kind of clientele that shops here. Doesn’t seem very safe. You might want to consider reducing the clutter so you can watch people closer. Never spending another dime there.

Staff was friendly. Drink (cappuccino) was way too sweet. The food was still partially frozen. And there are only two tables with a ton of merchandise surrounding. Wifi was free though, so if you can snag a table, need to get some work done on a laptop, and you like super sweet cappuccinos, you'll like this joint.

Great place to get flavored coffee drinks! Also a cute shop with all sorts of wildlife items(home decor)!! They also have all kinds of tshirts and sweatshirts and kids items for sale. We always stop there on our vacation!!

This place used to be a lot better. Still a Great place for gifts, some are decent price, expensive sweatshirts and other items outrageously priced.The coffee has gone down hill a LOT. Using pre prepped espresso for iced drinks and it does not taste good at all. Burnt steamed milk for the hot drinks.The customer service is a big 0, every person we came across working this week was unfriendly and the lady today was even what I would consider rude(owner? Manager? Wouldn’t give the keys to the young lady making the coffee so she could go get me a straw. Had me wait for her to take other orders to go get it herself. Rude to her own employee in front of customers, scolding her for her for what bag she put my scone into.) we used to love coming here for the coffee, but after this week not so much.For the only coffee place in town, you’d think it would be at least drinkable. Super disappointed.Also, no ATVs allowed in the parking lot? Strange for sure. A year ago this place was a lot different.
Drinks are decent but beware... .25 for a straw! Say what...is this a joke? Straws in bulk are .01. Best to know ahead of time.

Lots of decently priced gifts! Not a coffee shop you can sit down and sip. Would not recommend what they consider a frappe. Supposedly has coffee in it, but it literally tastes like ice blended with whatever flavor you got (I got a turtle- choc. & caramel). Can’t taste any coffee at all. Waste of $7 and probably not going to drink any.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp access
