Floor and tables have been sticky on more than one occassion. This place needs a deep cleaning.
We had ordered 4 flavored cones online which says it'll be served in a cup. I would assume if it's an ice cream cone in a cup, it's just flipped in the cup with the cone. We didn't get the cones so we asked for them. They only put like an inch of ice cream in the cup so when we scooped it into the cone, it barely went above the cone. It was literally like 4 bites of ice cream. Not worth the money at all. I had filled out the form on the website about our disappointing experience....read full review
The last 3 times we tried to eat at Sheboygan location we walked in amd it smelled like sewer. Needless to say, we turned around and walked right back out. Really a shame because the food is delicious.

Tom's Drive In, located on Westhill Road in Appleton, WI, is known for its delicious food, particularly the Tominator sandwich, cheese-curds, burgers, and chicken tenders. The outdoor walk-up counter and the Carnival rides themed diner give it a classic and nostalgic feel, making it a popular spot for many. The staff generally provide friendly service, and the restaurant maintains a clean environment with a recently updated interior. Customers appreciate the consistent quality of food and service, noting that it remains a reliable choice despite changes in other places.
However, some areas could use improvement. There have been concerns about employees not wearing gloves while handling food, which is a health code violation. Following the example of nearby competitors, it is recommended that gloves be used consistently, and fries be placed in bags with tongs rather than by hand for better hygiene. The fries have also been overcooked at times, resulting in hard, dark golden brown pieces, which affects the overall quality. Addressing the timing of fries cooking would help ensure they are served at their best.
The presentation of the burgers is another aspect that could be improved, as they are often assembled in a somewhat sloppy manner. While not a major issue, better presentation would enhance the dining experience. The dining area, especially the floor, has been reported as sticky from spilled soda, and tables sometimes need better cleaning.
Overall, Tom's Drive In offers tasty food and a nostalgic atmosphere, making it a good place to visit. Addressing concerns about food handling, fries quality, presentation, and cleanliness would further boost its reputation and customer satisfaction.
