We had a wonderful experience and such a lovely evening the first time we spontaneously sat at the bar and had a bite before a show at the Orpheum. The atmosphere is warm, charming and cozy. We were excited to come back tonight. Again we loved sitting at the bar. The service is excellent and the restaurant/bar are very obviously well managed. Staff exhibit a lot of attention to service. We ordered drinks and shared an entree/chicken Marsala. It was good, a little salty and I was disappointed that the sauce was not lighter and not served over a bed of pasta. When we received our bill, we were shocked that the J Henry old fashion my husband orders at restaurants all over Wisconsin was $26. 😱 we get that there is an up-charge for premium booze but seemed a little ridiculous for Wisconsin. The regular old fashioned w/ Bullet is $14. There was a $12 up-charge for J Henry. Overall, we had a good experience and will be back and recommend. I told my husband he can settle for the Bullet Old fashion next time. 😜 Incidentally, the Old Fashion was VG.
Wow, just had an unforgettable dinner at 107 State in Madison! We started with the pistachio pesto crostini - the combination of blistered tomatoes and burrata was absolute perfection! The steak frites was hands-down one of the top 5 steaks I've ever had - cooked to perfection. My date's salmon with polenta was also a hit, with the fish cooked to a tender and crispy ideal. And dessert? The Oreo pie (made by a local bakery!) was a game-changer. Finished it off with an espresso martini that was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. And huge props to our server, Regan, who was super friendly and attentive - made the whole experience even more exceptional! Highly recommend 107 State for a top-notch dining experience!
Hailiana and Athena provide the most personable service, stopped in for drinks, which were great, and had a great time!
I stopped for lunch after the farmers market. I had the Oaklahoma Onion Burger and wow, one of the top burgers in the city! Hot delicious fries w/ house made ketchup make this place a special treat. A bit higher price, but worth the stop. Bartender was having a day and just couldn't get it together.
I appreciate how attentive the staff was to myself and my date. The steaks were cooked perfectly and had an expertly blended pallette of flavors. I would recommend 107 State to my closest people. Thank you for the experience!
Cheesecake is the best
The fried chicken is fire!!!
Stopped in for a Friday lunch with my wife and everything was excellent. She enjoyed her wedge salad and I loved the Oklahoma onion burger, with extra onions. Service was great and the food came out quickly.
A great casual staple downtown. Who doesn’t love a great drink and some amazing pasta? This place is perfect for that!
They were out of everything and I ordered the vodka pasta which stated it comes with burata.. it surely did NOT and it tasted like the worst jarred vodka pasta I’ve ever had. Expensive to add chicken and there was like 2 bites of chicken included.

Gem, some spicier choices pasta wise which is my thing, but some may want to ask to go easy on the chili flake.
Vodka sauce was good not great for me, but a tad unfair criticism since I can't describe why. I just like a few others better like Fantico's in Whitewater or some of the higher end Madison Italian places.
Service was phenomenal, caring, sincere and food was fast. I had an excellent Manhattan with some custom house tweaks, highly recommend if that is your type of drink.
We will be back, Bravo.

The menu was a little hard to understand but the server helped us. More unique or likely traditional Italian food but we found something we liked. The food was very filling. The atmosphere was fine but noisy.

The interior space is small but atmospheric. There were some mistakes on the part of the restaurant, such as the wrong menu, but thanks to our server Tanner's good response, we were able to enjoy our meal satisfactorily. I enjoyed the creamy seafood fettuccine, but my wife especially liked the tomato-based penne pasta. It looks simple, but my wife praised it because it was seasoned and cooked perfectly and went well with the cheese. The ragu sauce rigatoni was the worst, with a heavier taste than expected.

A hidden gem in downtown Madison. If you love Italian food, give this place a try! The crostini is out of this world and the pasta dishes (both the ziti and fettuccini) are delicious. We will definitely be back next time we are in the Madison area!

There was a cockroach on our ToGo container. They didn't comp our meal or anything other than a simple apology. Probably won't be going back here anytime soon. Food was fine.
