Cozy but elevated atmosphere. Delicious food and drinks. Haliana served us and was so sweet and friendly. The Secret Garden cocktail was incredible and my favorite part of the evening!!!

Came here last weekend before seeing a show at the Overture and can't believe we haven't been before! Friendly service, roomy booths, great food. If you're sensitive to loud spaces- it is pretty loud- nothing restaurant can do about it, just nature of the beast for the space they're in. We definitely will be back to try more dishes!!
group loves: Caesar salad, wedge salad, shrimp scampi, burger + fries, sangiovese
group mehs: pesto burrata crostini- bread was soggy, not crisp at all (but flavor was really good), ginger beer- flat and super sugary sweet (vs fizzy/ginger spicy).

Wonderful place for date night. We parked at a garage just down the street and walked a block or two to the restaurant. Shotgun style dining space with a well appointed bar on the right and a long row of booths on the left which meant a great cocktail was always close at hand. Each booth was roomy (I’m a bigger guy) but still tight enough for close conversation and would seat 4-6 comfortably.
I had the Mezze Rigatoni, Spring Lamb Ragu, Pecorino. I was intrigued by a lamb dish and was rewarded for my curiosity. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the ragu was delicious. The lamb was plentiful and each savory nugget was a wonderful complement to the ragu (which nicely coated the Rigatony).
My wife had the Orecchiette, Nueskes Roasted Bacon Ragu, Braised Cabbage, Pecorino. She was drawn to the bacon ragu and curious as to how the cabbage would be incorporated. In its braising, it is essentially dissolved into the ragu, adding a delicious earthiness to the smoky and meaty sauce. We greatly enjoyed stealing bites from each other. It was our first visit to Madison and 107 State really made us want to spend more time in this wonderful downtown. Try it. You won’t be disappointed.

We had a wonderful experience and such a lovely evening the first time we spontaneously sat at the bar and had a bite before a show at the Orpheum. The atmosphere is warm, charming and cozy. We were excited to come back tonight. Again we loved sitting at the bar. The service is excellent and the restaurant/bar are very obviously well managed. Staff exhibit a lot of attention to service. We ordered drinks and shared an entree/chicken Marsala. It was good, a little salty and I was disappointed that the sauce was not lighter and not served over a bed of pasta. When we received our bill, we were shocked that the J Henry old fashion my husband orders at restaurants all over Wisconsin was $26. 😱 we get that there is an up-charge for premium booze but seemed a little ridiculous for Wisconsin. The regular old fashioned w/ Bullet is $14. There was a $12 up-charge for J Henry. Overall, we had a good experience and will be back and recommend. I told my husband he can settle for the Bullet Old fashion next time. 😜 Incidentally, the Old Fashion was VG.
Love the vibe here! I suggest making a reservation (especially for weekends). Pasta is yummy, cocktails are amazing, and staff is great. I have found they will accommodate whatever they can as long as you call ahead and let them know.

Super great food and the staff to match! Hannah helped me and my team with a large last minute order, and the food was fantastic. Every time I have guest in town, we always head to 107 state. They have a high standard and never disappoint!

Some of the best pasta I’ve ever had. Been there several times and have never had a bad meal.
Last night their AC broke so my reservation was denied as it was 90 degrees inside. I hope they fix it soon so I can continue going back

Hailiana and Yulia are awesome. Best dining experience ever. The cocktails are all very good and you can tell a lot of thought was put into them. Food is equally as good. This is a gem!!

The steak frites was NOT good at all, it was really burnt on the outside and tasted like propane. I hadn't had a steak that bad in a while! Very disappointing especially for the price. The service was good at least.

Wow, just had an unforgettable dinner at 107 State in Madison! We started with the pistachio pesto crostini - the combination of blistered tomatoes and burrata was absolute perfection! The steak frites was hands-down one of the top 5 steaks I've ever had - cooked to perfection. My date's salmon with polenta was also a hit, with the fish cooked to a tender and crispy ideal. And dessert? The Oreo pie (made by a local bakery!) was a game-changer. Finished it off with an espresso martini that was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. And huge props to our server, Regan, who was super friendly and attentive - made the whole experience even more exceptional! Highly recommend 107 State for a top-notch dining experience!
