“My husband and I came here after a recommendation when our cooking class was cancelled. This was our first time here and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, we felt as though we were the only guests there. The service and food were exceptional. All of the staff were eloquently watching us to make sure we had the best service, it it was done in a manner we never knew they were watching to help us. This was by far the best service we ever experienced. Thank you to everyone who made us feel how “the other half live”. We will be back again!”

“One of the best meals and experiences we’ve ever had. The food is top notch, and somehow the service still outdid it. Sophie was our waitress for the night and was phenomenal. We dined at Fairchild for our 10-year wedding anniversary and she made it a big deal.She mentioned to us that some people will split the entrees/pasta dishes into two shared courses which was perfect.We started with the unbelievable hamachi and mushroom tempura. Both were unreal. You can feel the precision in the kitchen.Then we got the Riso Nero (this is a guess on the spelling) and each piece of seafood was perfectly melted-in-the-mouth delicious.Next was the steak, which paired nicely with the truffles and other items that they put on the plate. We enjoyed it with the Brussels sprout side and fava bean side with the steak course as well. The Brussels sprouts were good but the fava beans outshined it. The herbs they are cooked with take it to another level.We finished off with the pumpkin panna cotta dessert and it truly could go toe-to-toe with some of the best desserts that exist.What a wonderful experience and we can’t wait for another opportunity to go back!”

“Even though something got mixed up and our reservation wasn't showing up, we still got seated and helped immediately. Rose was a PHENOMENAL waitress, and was so kind and friendly. Her recommendations were amazing, and she came back so frequently to check on us/the food. For our dessert course, she even made sure to get us skewers that match my split dyed hair, which was an adorable gesture. On top of the great service, everything tasted delicious and came in timely manners.”

“I've always enjoyed RED but haven't been here in a couple years. My friend does not like raw fish and yet as her first time here she had a delightful experience with the cooked items offered. The reservation process was simple and by chance we were seated at one of my favorite tables (by chance? Hmmm) Service was brisk in the best possible way - our drinks arrived quickly as did the appetizer we wanted to accompany them. A favorite has always been the vegetarian shiitake tempura roll and was well received by my friend as was the California roll with king crab. As I had my raw fish she had king crab nigiri which was a hit. This was the perfect place to precede a performance by our wonderful symphony orchestra at the Overture Center a few blocks away. My date thought our server was both cute and charming and he was thoroughly professional - we could have not asked for better. Bravo RED”

“WOWWWW! As a non-vegan, I was definitely skeptical of this restaurant, but that was my mistake. This is one of the very best restaurants in all of Madison. It was so good that I went twice in one week because I couldn't stop thinking about how fantastic the food was! The service was excellent and Juan, the chef, made our experience super memorable. Make sure to get the chickpea paneer and the bao, they are both to die for! I'll be coming back (maybe again next week haha) and plan on taking all of my friends and family there to impress them. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough! Thank you to the staff for such an amazing dinner!!”

“Madison's on King Street in downtown Madison is always a great place for food, drinks, and hanging out with friends or coworkers. It's one of my favorite spots for happy hour. They have a great happy hour menu and it's from 4-6pm Tuesday thru Friday. Their spicy margarita and dry rubbed wings are delicious!”

“This restaurant's best offerings are their American style maki sushi exploding with all kinds of fillings and toppings. The appetizers and other offerings are pretty basic. The nigiri was disappointing but as expected for this part of the country. The cocktail menu is interesting, but I haven't sampled much from it yet. The new decor is kitschy and over the top, but it imparts a fun, casual vibe if you just kind of relax and enjoy it. Some of the sushi plates had little orchid / flower sprays on them that were quite visually appealing.”

“super cute pizza restaurant in a literal home! it's a small cozy place with a unique menu. the server was soo with me tonight, she recommended the pork confit AND the goomba with bacon (unfortunately no ranch dipping but she also got me there). i loved that the pizza was thin crust but i do wish there was a dipping sauce bc the crust was a bit dry. the bacon was center cut and thick so it was heavy but tasty on the pizza. the app, pork confit, was sooo tender and juicy, very happy we went with this choice! we got a bottle of moscato to pair and that was also delicious. overall recommend this restaurant but would make a reservation bc it's a really small place”

“Wife and I pass by Zen now and then, and this last weekend with the weather the way it was, we thought it was a perfect opportunity to try them out. We walked in to a fairly busy restaurant, with only a couple of small tables open right by the door, the staff member asked if we minded sitting at the bar, which we had no problem with. We ordered, our meal and drinks, which by the way were on special, a buy one get one beer! So I couldn't pass that up. The ramen was delicious, chicken was crispy, and the broth was tasty! The wait staff was very friendly and helpful! He appeared to be the only one on duty and he was WORKING it!! Bravo to him!!! The casual atmosphere was nice and enjoyable with soft lounge versions of pop songs playing in the background. Make sure you check in if it your first time, you should get a surprise! We will definitely be back!”

“If you enjoy outstanding service and fabulous food, Johnny Delmonico's should be at the top of your list. Easy parking and delicious cocktails too (try the pear martini!!! It's quite possibly the best cocktail I've ever had.) Every server I've had has been excellent. If you are lucky enough to get Cary, you are in for an extra special treat.Parking: There is a parking garage adjacent to Johnny's. It's easy and very affordable.”

“Fantastic menu, lots of natural lighting, but the best part is they genuinely have safe options to those who can not have gluten. They even have a GF dedicated fryer. While I enjoyed the Tika Masala flatbread, my husband enjoyed the GF crispy (truly crispy) chicken sandwich with fries, thanks to the GF fryer. About that fantastic menu—I could close my eyes and pick an entree and be very satisfied with anything set in front of me.”

“Not to throw around comparisons but...... Burger King's fries are waaayyyy better compared to let's say McDonald's! Burger King's fries are thicker, saltier, and actually come out hot. I ordered a sausage and egg muffin from the breakfast menu. The sausage patties are thicker even than McDonald's and have way more egg. I don't do fast food often, but next time I do it'll be Burger King!”

“A mcdonalds with a play place inside is nice. It was very clean. I had some non crunchy fries and I give the service a 3 because I ordered a coffee with 6 sugars and they gave me coffee with cream in it. It was disappointing. Details do matter.”

“I go to this place nearly every day for a Diet Coke and sometimes some other things. This Burger King has some of the chillest employees out of all the fast food places in that area, and they are also nice and considerate. One of them is always particularly nice to my kids when I come through with them. She's usually there in the mornings. Another one, a dude with anime tattoos, greets me by name. One of the managers was just really nice about it when I got mad about not getting a cheeseburger that I thought I ordered and didn't. And several times, over the course of many years, I've told different employees that they gave me a regular Coke instead of Diet. They usually will have me test out the second drink and try to get it fixed right away.The food is good here, too. None of the surrounding fast food restaurants do better fries, or better frozen Cokes. This Burger King puts the frozen drinks in paper cups so they hold cold better than the plastic ones from McDonald's. Their chocolate chip cookies, when they're fresh, blow all the other desserts at other fast good places' desserts out of the water.I could probably do without being told, "Welcome to Burger King, where you rule." If ever a 'Burger King Land' amusement park is opened, I will go there and enjoy being told that. As it is, I find it a bit much as part of a daily experience of getting a Diet Coke. It's a tad embarrassing. I know that isn't this Burger King's fault, so I won't hold it against the place.Kid-friendliness: They have crowns for kids, different foods that kids like, and they are nicer to kids than most places.”

“One of my favorite breakfast/brunch places in Madison so far! It's a cute diner with a wide variety of food options. There was a 10-15min wait, but it was well worth it. I got the scrambler (includes yanks, eggs, toast, etc) and absolutely loved it. It was delicious, quite a large portion size (you will have leftovers), and reasonably priced ($12 before tax & tip). They only accept cash but do have an ATM inside for convenience.”

“Wow!!!! We dropped in here for lunch and were blown away. You walk in and the ambience is so pleasant. Tin ceiling tiles, lovely music and an arched doorway. The service was quick and they immediately gave us a small cup of hot tea. A fantastic palate cleanse but also delightful after the cold temps. We ordered a chicken kebab and hummus. When the food arrived they accidentally gave us extra. The service was incredible. Mistakes happen but not only did they let us take the extra home but they offered dessert. The manager and the server apologized more than they had to. The service and kindness blew me away. For them any error could destroy the experience. They truly understand the art of creating an incredible experience. Then there was the food. That is the best chicken kebab I’ve had in years. Everything was perfectly seasoned. Every plate beautifully balanced in flavor. This is by far my new favorite place.”

Two medium eggs with hash browns a portion of meatloaf and a one delicious pancake.At first, I was skeptical about the combination… but there’s something magical about dipping the perfectly spiced meatloaf into the runny yolk of eggs that just doesn’t compare to anything else. The hash browns are the perfect combination of pillowy and crunchy.. The pancakes? Absolute perfection. I’m lamenting that I’ll never be able to find anything like the when I leave. I’m convinced that their grill is so perfectly seasoned that it adds a unique flavor to the pancakes that can only be found at Ogdens.I’ve had the chance to go several times during my time in Madison, and NEVER leave disappointed. The chicken tenders are juicy, the batter is crispy, and the sauce is flavorful. I also appreciate the simplicity of the menu – you're here to focus on the heat.The crinkle-cut fries are the perfect side, and the kale slaw provides a nice counterpoint to the chicken. My only complaint is that it can get a bit pricey, especially if you want to cool your mouth off with one of their soft drinks - as that cost extra. Still, if you live for that fiery burn, Dave's Hot Chicken is worth checking out.”

“The Ohio Tavern is as close as you can get to an old school dive bar in Madison. They food is cooked right in the bar area, and is mostly Mexican food. The nachos were delicious and the street corn was sublime. Service was good as well. It can get quite busy, and is louder than most establishments due to the small size. They only take cash and do not have a phone. If you want to maximize your chance of getting a spot - hit it up at an off time. We were there at 3:30 pm on a Saturday (non game day) and there were plenty of seats. At least try it once!”

“Donuts are fresh and delicious. Food is all delicious and made to order. Highly recommend. Service has always been exceptional, until today. This morning's visit was very different than our previous visits. We arrived to get donuts and some coffees, the restaurant was bustling, no wait. My husband inquired if they had yeast raised donuts, we got a response, "These donuts are all cake donuts." from the woman taking our order. Very short tone layered with annoyance. We then started our order. Again, my husband asked for half a dozen hot n' fresh donuts. She again with an annoyed tone asked, "What flavor??" I responded, "Cinnamon Sugar, please." She packed our donuts in a small box. They smelled divine, we were so excited. We decided to get 6 more glazed donuts, my husband asked, "We'd like 6 glazed, 3 regular glazed..." He was interrupted by the woman behind the counter, who snapped, "SO, YOU ACTUALLY WANT A DOZEN DONUTS?" We were stunned, we stood there for a moment unsure what to say. My husband responded, "Yes, 3 regular glazed and 3 chocolate glazed." She then grabbed a large box for a dozen or more donuts, literally opened our box of six hot and fresh Cinnamon sugar donuts and forcefully dump threw them in the box. Then, rearranged them and got our other 6 donuts. We were stunned by the rude tone and frustration that was shown to us on our visit today. We decided to pay and leave instead of oredering coffees to go with our morning treat. This experience this morning really soured our donuts and also have us questioning whether or not we will return. Sharing in case this is a chronic problem or in case we were singled out for some reason. Hoping all the patrons inside and those who walked in after us didn't experience the same level of disrespect to their food or in the treatment.”

“I absolutely love this place! Last year when I moved to Madison, I discovered this place while waiting for a table at Ha Long Bay and I have been obsessed ever since. Although a bit on the pricy side, the pastries are absolutely phenomenal and definitely some of the best I've had. I love the Gruyère croissant, the mini butter cakes with lemon curd and raspberry white chocolate, and the raspberry frangipane. The breads are also amazing. Highly recommend the scali loaf and if you happen to go on a Friday, the challah is amazing!”

“My mom and I were picky customers taking at least 5 minutes to decide but the man at the counter was friendly and patient and suggesting flavors based on our preferences and feedback after the samples. He helped craft my ice cream and the store lets you add nuts or Oreos or chocolate as toppings. Also they make their waffle bowls in-house and it was tasty. Also had nondairy options with oat milk which I considered but the coconut ice cream was also good”

We tried the lobster roll and the red snapper, but saw so many of the other dishes as they were happily received by other guests. The food we had was without flaw, and the cocktails were pretty and perfectly balanced. Still, perhaps the best part of our experience was the excellent service! We were fortunate to have a great duo of bartenders on a Wednesday eveing who (from someone in the industry) worked so wonderfully as a team, kept a tidy bar, and expertly crafted each cocktail for the packed house while still remaining so attentive to us diners at the bar. The service was so outstanding from the moment we entered the door, it outshined even the immaculate menu offerings.”

Al, who hails from the Bronx, runs a tight ship; the place is clean, and there is plenty of table space and booths seating. What was nice was they gave us plenty of time to eat our appetizer before the food runner brought our dinner.If there was one complaint, it was that we were seated right by the door. It was plenty of whipped cream and fruit to complement the dish. The side of scrambled eggs was prepared perfectly, not overcooked or runny. The hashbrowns, prepared with some red and green peppers, we’re also very tasty. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Perfectly salted; no need to add more salt.What I will order the next time will be the smoked salmon Benedict. It’s a wonderfully balanced dish. The salmon had a nice smokey flavor, not a strong salmon taste at all. The eggs were also poached perfectly, with the runny yolk complementing creaminess of the sauce. Capers add a nice little bite to the whole dish.I had gone to the state house several years ago and did not have a good experience. Today’s brunch experience was certainly a redemption. I can’t wait to go back and try other items on the menu.”

The chicken tenders are juicy, the batter is crispy, and the sauce is flavorful. I also appreciate the simplicity of the menu – you're here to focus on the heat.The crinkle-cut fries are the perfect side, and the kale slaw provides a nice counterpoint to the chicken. My only complaint is that it can get a bit pricey, especially if you want to cool your mouth off with one of their soft drinks - as that cost extra. Still, if you live for that fiery burn, Dave's Hot Chicken is worth checking out.”

“I always enjoy my meal at Monty’s! Last night 1/14/23 my sister and I picked Monty’s for dinner! The food was good, the server did a great job! BUT the floor was littered with all kinds of things napkins, smushed French fry, a knife other things! On my way to the bathroom I noticed all that . I stopped at the counter and ask a person who was the boss, they said that they were the manager! All I said to them was ( take a look at your floor) Shortly after returning to my booth! I watched him come and begrudgingly pick up 2 pieces of paper and aggressively throw it in a bus tub! And he picked up the hazardous knife! This is a very bad impression! It was maybe 6:pm and not as busy as usual! If I was a manager I would have gotten a broom and dust pan and made sure I got it all, or ask a staff member to do it! Thank you for the good meals and good service! But by the cleanliness of your restaurant I will think twice before coming back! Thank you”
