“Went on a Wednesday afternoon, since I was on campus for work that day and wanted to try something new. They had the special of buffalo chicken wrap, grilled or crispy. It was SO good. I’ve been thinking of it since 😂! The had generous amounts of chicken on it, which is always nice. The service was excellent too. Definitely will be going back when I’m on campus again. 😋“

“We came for lunch, as I was looking for a good ribeye. Immediately felt at ease upon entering. Even though it appeared pretty busy, we were sat right away. We needed time to peruse the menu, and our server Jordan never made us feel rushed. He brought us water, and gave us some time. We had the spinach dip, bone in ribeye, and ahi tuna steak. It was obvious that the dip was freshly made, and my rare ribeye was the best steak I’ve had in a long time. The housemade chive butter was also excellent. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the music stylings were en pointe for my taste. This is the kind of establishment I love to support.“

“Our wedding at the union was fantastic! Sam Mack (venue coordinator) was a great communicator and all of the Union Staff was incredibly attentive and helpful throughout the planning process and day-of. We had our ceremony in Tripp Commons and our cocktail hour and reception in Great Hall. The food was good (not the best I've ever had, but also not the worst), the cocktails and drinks were great, and it was so nice not having to make a million different decisions. They really guide you through the process which was exactly what we were looking for. The Union has done hundreds of weddings and it really shows. The whole day went very smoothly and the price was right! Would highly recommend, especially for UW grads!“

“My group of about 14 people came for the fish fryI I had the walleye deep fried with sweet potato fries. they were great the brandy old fashion which was all great. Service excellent. It was somewhat loud but bars a always loud“

“College visit with the daughter and we dined here with friends on Saturday 28th Sept and being originally from the UK, and seeing the fish and chips were haddock (not cod) I immediately had to have them and they were the best fish and chips this side of the “pond” having put up with 12 years of “just ok” fish and chips, these were amazing. Not only were the fish and chips good, but every dish was a winner. I am now praying my daughter gets into the college as I will be a regular here.“

“Been a long time Madisonian yet never stopped by this place until the other day. Had no expectations but nonetheless the experience was great. Lindsay was awesome both times. Very welcoming, attentive and personable. We had a great time.

Atmosphere was that of a nice dive bar, loved the small town pub feel in a downtown area.

Food was really good, had the corned beef panini, it was excellent. And of course had to try the pretzel and it was hands down the best jumbo pretzel I’ve had. If you go it’s a must.

Overall I highly recommend stopping in for a few or a bite or both. Nice work!“

“I usually love bear and bottle but my food and service were just bad today I’ve had this server before and they just aren’t attentive Had to go to bar for my second drink Normally food is very good but taco dip has huge chunks of cream cheese Server left my food at edge of table for more that fifteen minutes which attracted flies I love the open air aspect of this spot bit of your food is left for that long…. Flies come to you. I will only eat at the bar from now on. Bar service is amazing“
