“The restaurant is small, so the dining experience feels exclusive and intimate. The service we had was warm and inviting. The server never made us feel rushed, while also checking in on us from time to time (I wish I remembered her name, but shoutout to her!). The food was coursed out by the server/kitchen and was perfect timing for everything (not that we were in a time constraint, it was just nice the pace they did). The food was DELICIOUS! Their beet salad is probably my favorite beet salad in Madison. I had the rabbit and my partner had the cod, which were both so flavorful.“
“WOWWWW! As a non-vegan, I was definitely skeptical of this restaurant, but that was my mistake. This is one of the very best restaurants in all of Madison. It was so good that I went twice in one week because I couldn't stop thinking about how fantastic the food was! The service was excellent and Juan, the chef, made our experience super memorable. Make sure to get the chickpea paneer and the bao, they are both to die for! I'll be coming back (maybe again next week haha) and plan on taking all of my friends and family there to impress them. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough! Thank you to the staff for such an amazing dinner!!“
“Swanky and fresh! Eccentric take on some iconic rolls, but the menu still has the oldies like a Dragon, Godzilla, and Philly. VERY reasonably priced food and cocktails. Sit at the sushi bar and watch the maters work! I also loved that the first thing our waitress asked, is if there were any allergies she should be aware of for our safety. It was a nice empathetic touch.“
“My company had thier holiday party here recently, I had never been before. What a beautiful establishment and great location! The staff was great, friendly and fast, I never waited longer than a few minutes for a drink. The food was fantastic and the presentation was beautiful. I would highly recommend stopping in or arranging a moderately sized event here. Try the Pear martini (Pear Tin Rug ?) it is amazing. Thanks, Heritage Tavern, for making the night a success! You guys ROCK!“
“Went here for Sunday brunch. Food really great, service excellent, my only real complaint, and it's not really a complaint really, just a preference, is that I wish they would have had an espresso maker. I do love me some lattes or other freshly made coffee drinks on Sunday morning. Otherwise really enjoyed it and the price was totally fair for what you receive.“
“I personally had a wonderful experience planning working with Momo's when we had our Lunar New Year on 02/13/24. They exceed expectations from the food that they provided, space, and decorations. I would love to plan another event there in the future. If you're looking for a venue to have your next event, with a centralized location, give them a call.“
“It was a Saturday night in late February when I first visited Madison’s. They were playing Meg Thee Stallion and I knew we just had to go in. Megan brought me in the door, but the 80s music video / dance showcase on the TV is what I stayed for. I’m currently drinking a strawberry rhubarb Moscow mule — life is good.“
“My girlfriend and I went here for a date and opted for the tasting menu. It was pricey, but the food and service were good. One oddity was that some overhead lights were positioned such that I was in the light and my girlfriend was in the dark. It didn't really interfere with anything but was noticeable and strange.“
“Nice location, quick service despite busy, and good food, reasonable prices. Only thing I thought was extremely weird was the “side greens” pile you could order and came with absolutely no salad dressing. You definitely could afford and I’d pay a few cents extra for a single cucumber slice, cherry tomato, and some shaved carrot. Overall I’d come back, and I’d tell others to go too.“
“Great food, burger, salad, and jambalaya were excellent. Curds also fantastic, especially the dipping sauce. Noise was 9/10 with lots of kids and larger groups in our area. Initial service was slow after being seated with a reservation (huge is they accept).“
“The food here is excellent (I've been about five times now), but I've noticed that "small Plates" seems to have become "tiny plates." My husband and I and another couple each spent $100, and I can't say I was satisfed. Not sure I will return. . . .“
“The beer was great - nice on tap selection - the atmosphere was nice as it is a good-sized pub, 2 piece live duo act on a Friday night, and our female server was attentive, helpful & friendly, even if her attire was more appropriate as pajamas. Brian, another "server," was less friendly and, in fact, could be considered "surly." Aside from Brian, Bierock is a "recommend!"“
“One of the best brunches I’ve enjoyed in my twenty something years on this here planet earth. Get the virgin Bloody Mary if you’re like me and have a tomato Juice addiction. I’ve been making a ranking list of virgin Bloody Marys at each restaurant I go to and this sits quite solidly at number three.“
“Best old school diner in the Madison area. I've eaten here (usually with my family) MANY times. Food is consistently good. Service is friendly and welcoming. Prices are affordable. What's not to love?! We usually are here for breakfast, but if you're getting lunch, try their fries!“
“If you haven't had Birria Tacos, this is the place to try them! Delicious, authentic Tex-Mex. While we were dining in ARod made the time to talk to us about his food and you could tell how passionate he was about it. He made us feel very welcome and the food was phenomenal. Highly recommend!“
“Went for lunch with a friend. It was Badger home game Saturday so it was busy. We only waited a few minutes for a table. Ordered cheese burger & beer. Burger was cooked perfectly. It was on a soft bun and was juicy and seasoned well. Atmosphere was friendly and place was very clean. Will definitely return.Parking: There is street parking and area is safe.“
“My friend and I both had the signature Chicken Picatta and shared the smelt. The Picatta was outstanding. The smelt was good but the tarter sauce was even better! Our waitress was fabulous. We went right at opening and were immediately seated. Restaurant filled quickly and then there was a wait. There is a nice cocktail/beer list.Other reviews mention the lack of parking. Don't let that deter you. Just know you'll have to park and walk a little distance. My friend has been here before. It was my first time. Certainly planning to visit again.“
“The staff is always super friendly and outgoing.I've always gotten take out or delivery as I work nearby. The pulled pork has a good peppered kick to it, which I am a huge fan of! The brisket is good, but prefer the pulled pork. The side are pretty amazing. The corn pudding is amazing, I could eat it everyday. The hush puppies are dang good too! The best part, they drop them in the frier when you arrive for your pick up so they are super fresh and hot!The peach cobbler dessert is very tatsy as well!Overall, an excellent choice compared to the usual carry out in the area!“
“5.0. Walked in, place was totally chill. Sat at the bar. Great atmosphere. Playing Tribe, Digable Planets, Pharcyde, GZA and other hip hop favorites. All music was bartender’s choice. Bartender of the night was Corey L, he was on point. I enjoyed the house cocktail Rakish he made but the highlight was the Bourbon Sidecar that I requested. Corey made this wonderful libation with ease and expertise.Ate the Tip Top Burger with Cheddar, side salad and chips - it was delicious.Overall I totally recommend this place. I loved the food, drink, service and the ambience.“
“I am an international student and live around the area. The Main Depot is a heritage bar. Its more than a bar, its a community of people of all ages. Undoubtedly the kindest people I have met at any spot in my 2 years in America.P.S**** = If you are lucky you can see trains passing from the bench on the backside. Enjoy ;)“
“I havent ate all my food in a long time. Cinnamon French Toast breakfast with bacon and 1 b&g. Wow. It was so good I got a Chicken Fried Chicken togo. Here in town for 2 more nights and i will probably be back. Very good food! And to think the last place turned me away cuz of time; otherwise i had not came here. Great Food!“
“Been here a handful of times and never disappointed. Had not had the clam chowder before. Maybe the best I’ve had anywhere in the country with all due respect to all the Baltimore/East coast and west coasters. Obviously always comes down to choice but really nice balance of viscosity and flavor without being so creamy all it becomes is cream soup with potatoes and chunks of clams. I almost cancelled the fish and just got more soup…lake perch was a little undercooked but I knew I should’ve said ‘well done’ cuz they were busy, but didnt. Call that my fault. Fish was solid, clean and flavorful and not greasy or over breaded. Perfect level of batter, they just got antsy.“
“The bartenders are top notch at Players. This has my favorite burger in Madison, the cheesecurd burger, especially if Charlie or Wip makes it ❤️ only complaint is bar machines are really tight, the parking is terrible, and it's always crowded because it's super small. Worth it though for the food and drinks!“
“Coming in at 8pm on Friday was the perfect time. Appetizers are around 6$ each (x3). dinners less than 15$ each (x2). And 4 cans of beer the bill wasn't even 60$. I'm impressed and would gladly come back. The fish fry was excellent, shrimp was excellent. And the coleslaw paired well to the fish! I walked out full and happy.Parking: The lot fits the needs of the bar.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs“
“This spot is precisely what you expect, although the parking lot seems to hold more cars than the bar holds people. I'm not doing the math right, maybe. Very friendly bartenders with lots of beers on tap. I learned the pro tip later to order your fish fry in advance so it's ready when you show up. We were too late for walleye - next time, but the code had a lot of flavor and was crispy on the outside and tender inside - chef's kiss. The perch had more texture, but also delightful and more subtle flavor. We need a second helpingKid-friendliness: Kids were there with parents getting their Wisconsin fish fry on“
“Oakcrest is exactly what Oakcrest wants to be, and that is absolutely amazing. My wife and I come here for Tuesday dates while the kids are in school, and we've never had a bad experience. I can't recommend this place enough. Best burger in Madison!“
“Different twist on classic supper club offerings, but all delicious.Pork chop with cherry compote was superb. Had the charred carrots based on reviews and they did not disappoint, unusual and delicious. The burnt apple jam cake was absolutely amazing.“
“If you are looking for a fun dining experience, it is a fairly nice option. The vibe is pretty friendly and casual; the plating is beautiful. However, when it comes to food I feel like (at least for our menu) they tried to put too many strong flavors on one dish and these are not always balanced. Sometimes too salty, too sour, or too sweet. (Especially the Mac and Cheese with pine and pretzel, way too much salt!! I can appreciate very strong cheese but it should be paired with something plain, not melted entirely as a cream sauce where the high salt almost tasted bitter and caused dizziness.) Among the 12 dishes, 2/12 really good appetizers raised expectations and 6/12 tasted OK, except that 1/12 was uneatable, 3/12 were a little disappointed concerning the flavor. I mean, it's definitely not a bad place as a cozy & creative family-owned restaurant, but it do need re-polishing for the menu.“
“Had an awesome dinner here last night for my wife's birthday celebration. Delicious 5 course with perfect wine pairings, including a very hard to find Plavac Mali from Croatia. Chef Ben shares all kinds of information about the ingredients, the dishes and even the tableware. A must-try spot in Madison for the true food “
“The food is delicious and the people who work there are wonderful. We had a sandwich and cupcakes. You kind of feel at home there. They have a toy corner for kids too!I'd wish the toys were cleaned once in a while. They were very sticky and had crusty dirt on them. I honestly was a bit grossed out by them but on the other hand I'm grateful that they thought of kids too!“
“Jordan's is one of the best bars in the city. An excellent food menu with daily food specials, not to mention a Friday Fish Fry that could rival anyone else in Madison! An awesome atmosphere for any Wisconsin sporting event with Badger football GameDays being the crown jewel. Super friendly staff and just general great vibes any day of the week. I really can't recommend this place enough!“
“A very mixed experience...We had a party of 8, which is 2 more than I suggest you ever have. Every person ordered a full entree, every person ordered drinks from the bar, multiple rounds per couple. Every couple then ordered desert. As soon as we had finished our desert, the manager came over and asked us to leave so they could seat more people. My wife still had over 2/3 of her freshly arrived margarita. The food was fine, but wrong for multiple people. The waitress messed up our drink orders. I find it hard to give them a better review because our experience was ruined at the end by being asked to leave. For 2 people, I'm sure it will be a great experience, as the food is actually very good, but for more than 2, any place is better.“
“I dont usually give out 5 star reviews, but this place earned it. The food is always on point, the staff are always attentive and friendly, and how can you best the view (especially with a little one)? Also, finally a restaurant that can do proper biscuits n gravy!“
“We held our wedding reception at The Madison Club and we highly recommend it to other couples! We loved the classic, timeless, and memorable look and feel of the Club itself, central location downtown, and found it especially beneficial that they offered so many wedding services. From catering (cake included in our selected package), beverages, tables, chairs, linens, place settings, day-of getting ready spaces, and an on-site event coordinator. This was very important to us as we didn't want to have even more vendors to coordinate with, and the Club being a "one stop shop" was incredibly helpful in simplifying our planning. They have so many options to choose from so you can offer more classic wedding meals or something a little more adventurous (which we did and loved). The food is truly delicious! They also provide a list of vendors recommended by the Club and we were able to work with a few of them for our day. Alex, our event coordinator, was so responsive, patient, and accommodating throughout our planning process which entailed many emails, questions, and changes :) He was amazing to work with! We were so pleased with how everything turned out and we will cherish the memories made at The Madison Club forever.“
“Went here with our two young kids for dinner. Very friendly and attentive service. Food arrived quickly. Not “foodie” type of food but everything tasted good. Restaurant was clean. Love the cozy booths. Kids are already asking when we can go back!“
“Our food was excellent! We had the chicken sandwich, curry, truffle fries, and the cauliflower dish. The environment was very friendly, clean, and our server Anna, was excellent!!We will be back!Parking: Easy parking with very close proximity.“
“Stopped here for the fish fry as it has been voted Madison’s best for a couple years. They had a great selection of fish fry. A lot of places usually have your basic beer battered cod but this place had three different options with different breading as well. The jalapeño popper dip was amazing. I ordered the vegetarian beer cheese soup, which was OK but I thought it would’ve been better if it had more cheese. It tasted more like a loaded baked potato. The fish was excellent and the waffle fries were perfect. The Wisconsin old-fashioned was delicious. I also had the Caesar salad which had generous portions of shaved Parmesan cheese.“
“Had the Mickey's burger with super sexy fries and the Green Chili Pork appetizer. Everything was really good. Great hometown bar atmosphere and very good service. I didn't get my bartender's name but it was her birthday and she was really sweet.“
“Really good atmosphere, super kind staff. The jam pretzel burger special was fire. Square cheese curds, strange shape, very tasty. I would definitely come back to this spot. They served an adequately liquored up drink and did it with a smile. I may have found my new "local" as they say out in the Midwest. ALL good here.“
“What a dinner we had! We came for the restaurant week specials and I can tell you right off the back they did not disappoint.Let's get some details out of the way first. I filled out the 'special request' section on opentable it seems like no one in the restaurant was aware of it, not a huge deal but if you do have a special request I would recommend trying another avenue. Secondly, we ordered an additional item (bruschetta) and requested it with our appetizers, it arrived midway between the main course and dessert.Lastly, my girlfriend and I had just finished our January Daniel Fast so our taste buds were slightly deprived leading up to this meal. Now, onto the meal!We decided to go with a bottle of the Louis Martini 2020 Cab. Take that as you will. The beets with the verde sauce were very tasty, the whipped goat cheese was light and delightful. The tomato soup.... I would do vaguely unethical things to eat this on a regular basis! Holy moly I was blown away by the flavors of the soup and the surprise grilled cheese garnish was just amazing. I would eat this all day every day. Bury me with it.The barbacoa tacos with consomé, also a big winner here. Delightfully spicy and tender. The shells were unique without getting in the way. The whole flavor was magical... I wish I had been the one to order it.The salmon was good, also tons of flavor with a deliciously crispy skin. The curry sauce with the veggies was delightful and I would have liked more of it. If you're normally a fish person I think you will enjoy this a lot. The only problem with it was that it was not the above. C'est la vie.The fresh mozzarella bruschetta was also simply divine. Tough to eat a whole piece while getting mozzarella in both bites though. It was more than enough and we ended up taking half home. The desserts were delicious and decadent and everything we had been missing while not eating sugar for the past 21 days. I preferred the creme brulee, which was a little eggy, over the cheesecake which had a tougher texture. They both had the caramel/burnt sugar going for them but it shined more in the creme brulee so if you want something fruitier I would stick with the cheese cake. All in all we had a wonderful time and left in high spirits! Thanks so much for the wonderful meal Eno Vino!“
“Good food but hopefully you’re not in a hurry if you go here! Took quite a while for anyone to even come to our table to order! Maybe this was just our server but we were never checked on ☹️. Despite this would totally come back again, the food was amazing and so was the bakery!“
“We got there after an event at the overture center, so it was pretty busy. But we were able to be seated in a small private room near the back with swinging double doors to enter and a small door/window that opened behind the bar. The bartender took our drink and food orders and passed everything through the small window to us. I'm guessing you could reserve it if you ask, it looked like it would seat up to 6 or 7 people. The food and drinks were really good.“
“I’ve been to a lot of cities in the world. This bar, and what they are trying to do with their ambience is a heavyweight contender. The food is so unique, when I ordered my Vesper, without hesitation the bartender asked if I preferred Lillet or Cocchi. Brilliant. I give it 20/10 because it’s in an unassuming strip mall.“
“Went for a bit to watch the basketball game. Without the patio being open it was quite full and limited seating. The turkey blt was good and the onion rings were great! The pizza here is really good as well! Service was attentive and quick. It was pretty loud with the TV's and people talking/yelling.“
“Classic downtown Madison restaurant and bar. It has the old tavern feel, with upscale offerings. We only had appetizers and drinks, but those were great. we tried the fried Goat Cheese curds...very tasty, but a little goes a long way. We also had the Korean BBQ fries. Delicious!. Good bar selection and craft beers. Will definately come here again“
“Absolutely wonderful stay. The Edgewater is beautiful and the staff very accommodating and respectful. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a spectacular view.We also enjoyed walking to the beach and docks with the Grandkids. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience!!“
“Pitcher's Pub has been around for a longTime. The Entrance is Very poor andNOT Lighted. It is very difficult to seeThe access. THE REST OF THE BAR ISSUPER. GREAT EMPLOYEES THERE- ⭐Parking: Pitcher's Pub is an Awesome place toVisit. Atmosphere Rules. Very GreatEmployees there-!! ? ?“
“This place has thee best food! Great customer service! We have been here couple times now and it's awesome! You be sooo full when you leave. I loveee the coleslaw, it's sooo good! Please check them out if you haven't yet, you won't be disappointed!!! Thank you Willie St Eats!“
“Classic Wisconsin supper club outside the capital. It's been thriving for over 50 years. And from the looks of it, they still have original customers. The place was packed at 5:00 on a Tuesday. You go to bar and get your menus, then somehow they remember you and waitress takes order while you drink at bar. It took about 30 minutes to get seated. The table had our salads, appetizers, bread, relish tray, cinnamon rolls and water. The cinnamon rolls were outstanding. Deep fried pickles- ok, and cheese curds are excellent. The main course jambalaya was very good. Yet the ribeyes lacked flavor, needed seasoning. Cooked to order and tender, just no taste. Our server Wendy was superb, a energetic person. I recommend stopping in, to appreciate a supper club.“
“Wonderful experience for dinner at Salvatore’s, E Wash & Livingston, Madison, WI.Crispy Calabrese Tofu was exquisite. Pizza great! Manda’s service was above and beyond. She was great with my 7 year old granddaughter!Vegetarian options: Crispy Calabrese Tofu exquisite!“
