“We were looking for a new place to try and found this hidden gem. Great home made food and family friendly. It's not a big restaurant but there's plenty of seating. We were pleasantly surprised and very happy with the service. We will be coming back!“
“It wasn’t busy at all when we went but it wasn’t a typical lunch or dinner time. Staff was friendly, food was out quick. We got some of the tacos and they were sooo good. We also ordered the mango loco something (sorry I forget the exact name) to drink, it’s very a refreshing drink. I may have found my new favorite place to eat in Verona.“
“New to the area we found this restaurant on yelp. We went for a hamburger and were very happy to have stumbled across a delicious meal, welcoming atmosphere, and additional entertainment with bingo. We will be back for both the food and bingo.“
“The first day we came, we tried the root beer and we now visit every week. They provide amazing service, food, and drink. The pizza is the best in the area and the homemade appetizers are just right. The waiters are very kind and we strike up conversations with them all the time. Anyone I know could tell you that I'm terrible at ordering and the employees are always understanding and patient. My family intends to keep visiting and we only expect the quality and ambiance to improve. This place is amazing and they definitely deserve a five star review.“
“Got the Large French fries, they're one of my faves.I really like the way they prepare them, with a golden brown outside, and fluffy potatoes inside. Not filled with grease making them oily. The tender inside really goes well with the ketchup on the side. This helps to cut the grease and makes it more readily digested and absorbed by your body.Topping it all off was a luscious dish of 2 scoops of Culver's famous custard. Luscious and creamy, it cools you off on a hot summer afternoon, and slides down easy.I got Chocolate and vanilla for a flavor variety.Vegetarian options: The french fries are vegan because the potatoes are fried in vegetable oil, not lard.Parking: 30-40 free parking spaces, allowing easy access.Kid-friendliness: There were many kids with family, and teens seem to congregate here on their time off from school or jobs.Wheelchair accessibility: Disabled parking right by front entry.“
“We arrived on a weekday invited by friends. It was our first visit and it was superb! Our host greeted us in a very friendly manner speaking distinctly and at the level that we elder (80s) people love to hear. Our food choices involved four different entrees and each drew praise. The service continued to be exemplary and our pleasant surroundings assured our host that we would be returning...soon.My wife and I highly recommend eating at this establishment!“
“The Escarole and Beans dish is a flavor explosion! It’s delicious and you absolutely don’t need to be a vegetarian to enjoy this. It brought me back to my trip to Italy where I had a similar dish in Sorrento, which was so good I ate it two days in a row. Kettle Black’s version is just as good, maybe even better. The restaurant is warm and beautifully decorated (we sat under a gorgeous chandelier). Lastly, the service is impeccable. I cannot wait to return.“
“Perfect spot for a casual dinner! Was very impressed by the service and kind staff. Wide range of dinner options and great drinks. They often have a specials menu which is where I've found some of my favorites. Pizza unexpectedly great as well, generous toppings and has a chewy crust. As others said, only street parking but you can usually find a spot in the neighborhoods behind Monroe. Key lime pie is amazing!“
“Classic neighborhood Tavern, with a Menu full of outstanding Food... including the best Ribeye Steak Sandwich you'll ever bite into !! Am really missing this place since we're rarely in Madison anymore. Started having meals here in 1975; and everything I've ever eaten from here, whether dine-in or carry-out, has been fabulous.“
“Fantastic menu, lots of natural lighting, but the best part is they genuinely have safe options to those who can not have gluten. They even have a GF dedicated fryer. While I enjoyed the Tika Masala flatbread, my husband enjoyed the GF crispy (truly crispy) chicken sandwich with fries, thanks to the GF fryer. About that fantastic menu—I could close my eyes and pick an entree and be very satisfied with anything set in front of me.“
“We used City BBQ to cater our summer camp wedding near Lake Geneva in Aug 2023, and they were absolutely fantastic. The quality of the food and service--our guests loved it. They also made sure to make a plate for both me as the bride and my now-husband--were it not for that I am sure we would have forgotten to eat! To top it off, City BBQ catering was great to work with. Andria worked with us and was such a pleasure--the amount of guests and order changed as we got closer, and she was great at making adjustments and working with us. We also did our tasting in the Chicago area which was so much fun. Shout out to Veneisha who catered that. Highly recommend City BBQ for catering a wedding--the food was incredible. So rare to find great food at a wedding for reasonable amounts! I'd give them 10 stars if I could.“
“loved the sweet potato frites cone (and kombucha) - our server had great saucy recos. went w some family to show what uw and the area is like to our own potential admit. we appreciate the new experience of sitting in that globe. our server was SO COOL N NICE n had great banter :)“
“Parkway Family Restaurant holds a special place in my heart for its consistently delicious food and top-notch service. As a fan of family-owned diners, l've found that they often offer the best meals at reasonable prices, and Parkway is no exception. During my countless visits, l've never felt the need to snap any pictures because I'm too busy savoring every bite. This time, l opted for the classic steak and eggs with a side of French toast. One of the things I adore about Parkway is its commitment to serving breakfast all day, alongside a diverse menu selection. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, while the eggs were fluffy and the French toast golden and indulgent. Parkway takes pride in every dish it serves, ensuring that each component is excellent in taste and quality. It you're in the mood for a satisfying meal that won't break the bank, Parkway Family Restaurant is the place to go.“
“Really good atmosphere, super kind staff. The jam pretzel burger special was fire. Square cheese curds, strange shape, very tasty. I would definitely come back to this spot. They served an adequately liquored up drink and did it with a smile. I may have found my new "local" as they say out in the Midwest. ALL good here.“
“I am an international student and live around the area. The Main Depot is a heritage bar. Its more than a bar, its a community of people of all ages. Undoubtedly the kindest people I have met at any spot in my 2 years in America.P.S**** = If you are lucky you can see trains passing from the bench on the backside. Enjoy ;)“
“Had an awesome dinner here last night for my wife's birthday celebration. Delicious 5 course with perfect wine pairings, including a very hard to find Plavac Mali red from Croatia. Chef Ben shares all kinds of information about the ingredients, the dishes and even the tableware. A must-try spot in Madison for the true food enthusiast“
“Not a dive bar. Feels like a family restaurant that also has a bar. Excellent vibes. Good burger, chef forgot my grilled onions, but was great. Pretty decent sized, all served with a bunch of pickles. Hidden valley ranch was served with curds.“
“Luckys- where do i start. this is the best bar in madison. the food is great but the atmosphere is even better. they have specials for everyday of the week, and the music turned up for the perfect jam sesh. good for a chill night or a wild night out.“
“I got my first chance to eat at Coopers Monday night. Sat at the bar with a friend and had great service from Kelsey B.! One thing that I don’t do is drink tap water…. and finally a nice restaurant carry’s Acqua Panna served in a wine class with a lemon!!!! Love it!! Both our steaks were cooked perfectly!! Then to top it off, the Manager named Ross stops over and surprised us with a slice of Carrot Cake!!! My man! ?. The ambience was perfect, not too much light and not too dim. ??“
“It's my local! We moved to Belleville August of 2021, and I adore this place. Was made welcome almost immediately. Great food, great people. I strongly suggest any of the burgers, the Reuben when it's 'in season' (starts at St Patrick's day, goes til they're tired of making it), Thursday night nachos, Wednesday s'ghetti. Biscuits and Gravy that can make a Southerner cry (happily)! They don't take cards, but there's an ATM in the corner. Lots of alcohol choices to boot.“
“The waffle fries are probably the best I've ever had. At our table, we shared or tried each other's stuff, so I had the brats and burgers and catfish. I thought all were excellent. When you get in, there's a popcorn snack mix at the table that is cool and different. The service is great. You are taken care of by all the wait staff, not just one person. I was told that they share all tips that seemed to keep them motivated.“
“We drove an hour to see--and dance--to the Dan Lepien band. Great atmosphere! Hats off to the bar/wait staff for outstanding service! The food was great. Loved talking with owner about Army and Army sports. Thank you for your son's service. The only negative for us and others that follow Dan was that you didn't have the band in your dance hall. We and others specifically called ahead to check on a dance floor. That would've made a great night even better for us.“
“The perch plate is the best.. it reminds me of the great perch plates growing up..potato salad is wonderful. Fish was breaded lightly and crispy.. coleslaw was delicious..just wished the potato salad portion was a bit bigger.. price was very reasonable.. Burgers here are fantastic I highly recommend this place..“
“Jordan's is one of the best bars in the city. An excellent food menu with daily food specials, not to mention a Friday Fish Fry that could rival anyone else in Madison! An awesome atmosphere for any Wisconsin sporting event with Badger football GameDays being the crown jewel. Super friendly staff and just general great vibes any day of the week. I really can't recommend this place enough!“
“This restaurant has amazing food that you can tell is homemade with fresh ingredients. The food quality is amazing and the people who make and serve it are always very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend coming in, seating yourself, and enjoying a wonderful breakfast/lunch/dinner here anytime you can.“
“Great drinks, great service, food was solid for a local neighborhood bar. Happened to come in on a busy night due to a UW volleyball game and sat next to the owners family (side note, guy looks like he could be Chris Farley's little brother). Great people, great staff. I'll definitely come back on my next business trip to Madison.“
“My daughter and I were greeted warmly, given a variety of seating options and decided to sit on the front patio for lunch. There were privacy panels so we felt separate from the parking lot and our dog was welcome. Our server was kind and attentive and the food was fast, fresh and really good. The menu is big enough but not too big and there seems to be something for everyone. Not only would I recommend, I will return tonight for dinner.“
“Jonathan was an incredible server!!! He split the bill for me and all my friends, was super kind and accommodating, and made sure we were all taken care of. Not only that, but his service was incredibly fast when he was taking all of the tables himself!! We would come back just for him!“
“We have been here twice and the food, service and atmosphere have been amazing each time. The Saturday prime rib melts in your mouth and the drinks go down easy. Oh and the CHEESEBALL?! If I could put the heart eyes emoji I would. Price is reasonable and fair for the amount of food you get. Staff and owners are hard workers and love the business. 10/10 recommend!“
“Met a friend for lunch. Sat at the high top. Immediately greeted at the table with menus and water. Friend had the Chicken Cob salad. Came to the table loaded with bacon, egg, tomato, zucchini, sliced chicken and plenty of dressing. Looked great and must have been tasty because it ended up being part of the clean plate club. I had the burger medium with a slice of havarti cheese, pickles, lettuce and tomato. Burger was prepared perfectly and adorned by the perfect bun. Not too big and crusty. Greens lightly dressed with an oil and vinegar accompanied the burger. Venue is nice and open, nicely decorated and a decent size. Service was better than most places these days. Value was good. I highly recommend without any reservations. Menu looked very inviting and daily specials appealed to my eye. Will definitely return.“
“Absolutely wonderful stay. The Edgewater is beautiful and the staff very accommodating and respectful. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a spectacular view.We also enjoyed walking to the beach and docks with the Grandkids. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience!!“
“Free house made a very tasty smash burger/ hamburger for me today…it was really good! It took really really long for them to take our order and cook my burger though…like 20 minutes to order and 20 minutes to cook. It was very tasty though!“
“First time dining and I would definitely come back. We had Beef Chimichanga (which was big!) and the Cajun Hash. Both were great and flavorful. I am happy with my decision to stop in!-Warm and cozy atmosphere,-Our waitress Samantha was great! Hostess too!-Plenty of TV optionsKid-friendliness: Seen small children, doesn't seem like it's a overstimulating atmosphere which makes it kids friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: Disabled parking and ramp right by the door.“
“I moved to this area about a year ago and have finally experienced this wonderful little local gem! It is a breakfast spot only and it is always packed! They close at 1 PM everyday. I have been wanting to go in there but never am I there early enough to get a table without waiting even though i'm sure it is worth the wait!I have had take out their 4 or 5 times now and it is so delicious-- just like home cooking!I don't think you can go wrong with anything there. I've had their omelets, I've had their breakfast sandwiches I've had their skillets and those pecan rolls are to die for! They have quite the bakery and I'm afraid to try to sample everything so for now i'm sticking with the pecan rolls! If any management or ownership are reading this, I would like to make one suggestion as far as an item I'd love to see you add in terms of bakery items. I'm sure would be a hit- Instead of strawberry rhubarb, try raspberry and rhubarb! I'm actually surprised at how many places don't have it on their menu and always have the strawberry. I promise you, you'll be pleasantly surprised with the raspberry and rhubarb combination. Strawberry, I've always feel overpowers the rhubarb whereas the raspberry compliments the rhubarb nicely! Just need a little added sugar to tone down the tartness.I used to go to the diner in Verona, which I think is as good although they don't have the bakery. But now this is so much closer. So for the most part, I'll be enjoying my breakfasts here at C's!Thank you so much forThe awesome service in the great food!“
“A Culinary Delight at The Stone House: A ReviewNestled within the picturesque surroundings of Quivey Grove, The Stone House offers an unforgettable dining experience that tantalizes the taste buds and soothes the soul. From the moment you step through its historic doors, you're transported to a realm where culinary excellence meets rustic charm. My dining experience at The Stone House was nothing short of spectacular. Opting for the Veal Vilas and Beef Lathrop dishes, I was immediately impressed by the expertly crafted flavors and presentation. Each bite was a harmonious symphony of taste, showcasing the chef's dedication to using fresh, high-quality ingredients. What truly elevated the evening was the impeccable service provided by Stephanie. Her attentiveness and professionalism ensured that our dining experience was flawless from start to finish. Whether you're seeking a romantic dinner for two or a memorable dining experience with friends and family, The Stone House is sure to leave a lasting impression.“
“Long time customers of this place due to their delicious pie. But… the menu hasn’t changed in years so you need to be OK with picking a favorite and making it your usual. The restaurant was surprisingly uncrowded for midday Sunday but the service was somewhat slow anyway.“
“On Tuesday March 12th we had an event at the BonFyre. It was a group of about 20 people and we were in the Beacon Room. It was set up beautifully and everything was wonderful. We had appetizer's and drinks all of which were amazing. Hannah was the person I worked with for this party and she did a great job making sure everyone had exactly what they needed or asked for. I look forward to working with Hannah again for future events. If you are looking at hosting a party I would highly recommend Hannah and the BonFyre. Tracy H.“
“I was pretty happy with the food here, though there was a variation in quality. The fried food was really good (fries and calamari fries). The hamachi and ribs were also good. Wasn't a huge fan of the tacos (pork and short ribs). Nice ambiance but very dark -- not really any windows. Good drinks and service was great. Id give them 3 stars for the food and 4 or 5 for everything else.“
“This place is the real deal when it comes to the Mac baby. Man, those different Mac skillets and sandwiches they have on the menu are crazy. You have to try the chicken bacon ranch mac, I think that is the one I had. Look, man, it's so good the flavor is there, really. They are not missing with that one, and they're not skimming at all. You will get full off good eating. I'm just going to say please come here for yourself and find out you'll have a new spot. You will not be disappointed for sure.“
“Lunch time. Appetizers of cheese curds andHomemade Jalapeno Wontons. Curds looked homemade and were very. Wontons were homemade with cream cheese with fresh chopped jalapeño’s in a wonton wrapper served with sweet Thai chili sauce. Mild and really good. Then burgers made your way. Service was very good considering it was around noon.“
“We went for brunch on Sat to celebrate mothers day and it was great. we has a 30 min wait because it was packed but worth it. we Sat outside and it was a beautiful day outside. our food was amazing delicious avocado toast and a b c Rita. WIL was our friendly waiter and he was awesome.“
“great steak-the sirloin is my go-to, medium rare...always consistently good!! and that is refreshing! also the manager here, when finding out this was my first time here at this location in Wisconsin came and personally welcomed us with a complementary appetizer card. was a pleasant surprise! so yes, I highly recommend and will return again while I am here in Wisconsin!“
“Great restaurant with good food and a great place to watch a sport event and hang with friends. However the music has got to go. The playlist was so annoying I had to leave. Others were annoyed. Please change up the music. I want you to survive. Madison needs more restaurants like yours but not your music selection. Thank you!“
“They have been rated best breakfast in Madison 9 times and I see why. First bite you know this food is amazing. The crepes are outstanding. I ordered the classic Eggs Benedict, they brought me the California Benedict instead. I got a small taste of it and wish I would have kept it. Highly recommend it.“
“Great food, great atmosphere. Fair prices and easy to access/find location. Only complaint I'd say was the service was not good. Our server took a long time to greet the table, get our drinks, and then once food arrived, we didn't see her unless we flagged her down. We needed silverware and napkins - so to have to go find her because she didn't stop by after the food was delivered was annoying. Also, once we were done and wanting to go, we stopped her on her way by asking her for the check. She said sure, and we still waited 11 minutes for the check. I realize she prob had a bigger table or party which was a priority, but maybe they shouldn't seat people in her section/turn in rotation? I'd still recommend though as the food is really good...and roll the dice you have a more experienced / attentive server“
“The food and the service were excellent . Hard to judge the atmosphere as we were there during a big snowstorm, just a few more people and us.Vegetarian options: The leek soup was super tasty, butter squash Falafel so delicious that we order a second one.“
“The staff here is always friendly and fast! They have delicious food and various types of seating options. Online ordering to your table is smooth and easily lets you explore the options. Their sound reduction is also great so you can easily hear people at your table without having to talk over your neighbors!“
“Don't write this place off just because it's in a hotel. Unlike any other hotel restaurant I've been in. Fantastic service. Delicious food and drink. Reasonable prices. We dined here two nights in a row it's so “
“The Red Zone on GameDay was the perfect atmosphere to watch the early game while pre-partying for the Badger football game. Drinks were in the expected price range. It was odd that you could readily get into the building, but they were restricting people from getting into the outdoor beer garden. Thinking it was some weird Madison overregulation. All-in-all, a great place to be on game day.“
“This place is an old-school tavern style bar, on Railroad street next to Miller's Market. It has clean bathrooms, with drinks a plenty and freshly fried, quickly served bar food. This is a great hole in the wall with darts and music, great service, friendly patrons with generous hours.“
