“We had heard good things about Lallande and we were not disappointed. We ate at the bar which I would highly recommend. Our server was Nina and she made the evening fun. I had the salmon and my husband had the lamb chops. Generous portions and absolutely delicious. We also had the chicken pate which was so good. But the highlight for us was the carrot tarte. A must have, if you go.The owner Ann Marie was working in the kitchen keeping all the balls in the air, but she took time to visit with us and made us feel extra welcome. Do yourself a favor and dine at Lallande on Monroe St. Perhaps we'll see you there because we'll be back! Five stars.“

“Me and my family stopped by a day ago. The customer service was amazing. If I remember correctly, our server’s name was Trinity. He was very kind to my grandma . “Sat outside after the farmers market and had a really nice brunch. Saffron was our server and she was very helpful. Omelette with ham and cheese was delicious and candidly doesn’t even need the hollandaise sauce. Ham sandwich was great also.

Only nit is $4 each for fountain pop. Maybe one free refill at that price?“

“JustVeggiez 100% Vegan is just plain one of the best restaurants in Madison. Burgers, pizza, wraps, lasagna, big salads, teriyaki, burritos and tacos, GF options...the menu is large and so varied. Plus they have acai bowls, desserts, milkshakes, ice cream and cookies! There's a gorgeous big counter complete with video screens, or table seating where you can people watch on State Street, and the orange and green walls and artwork give a fun vibe. You can even order weekly meal plans for home delivery, and they do catering, too. Alcohol license is in the works, for those interested in that, and they will have outdoor seating starting in the spring. I personally love the Strawberry Walnut Salad, the Lo Mein, the Reuben sandwich, and the BBQ Tofu Wrap, not to mention the vegan cheese curds and the roasted potatoes side dish.“

“My family and I had a marvelous dinner here. The food was excellent and plentiful, the service was great, and the restaurant is charming. We had the stir-fry beef noodles, thukpa (soup) and the lamb thali, as well as momos for the table and it was all tasty. We also had a lovely conversation with one of the staff about Tibet and Nepal and the regional differences in cuisine. The place is a bit on the small side so you may have to wait for a table, but it is very much worth the wait. I intend to make this a regular stop when I am in Madison.“

“This cafe has many delicious options for food. It however does not have celiac safe options. The cross contamination is too high. They do note this if you call them by stating that they can't guarantee there isn't. But I would not eat here if you have celiacs because I did twice and it made me incredibly sick. Again the food in my opinion is delicious, it just isn't celiacs safe.“

“I wish I had taken this photos of the food before I dug in. Delicious chilequiles, and even better ranchos huervos. The food is extremely fresh and flavorful. It's a unique take on something I've seen in every form, but they get it right with little surprises in every bite. Do yourself a favor and get the orange juice. The fresh sweetness really helps stabilize the slight spice and heaviness of the food.“

“One of my favorite foods is pastys, I was excited to learn about this place, otherwise you would find them normal in the u.p area of Wisconsin. All of the varieties are great! “Such a quaint restaurant with some of the best customer service in town. Kim anticipates all our needs and the owner, Mr. Ngo is so hard-working and warm. He remembers your order and is just such a nice man who is a people person, what every restaurateur should be. Right off the Beltline and really not that far from most parts of town. This is a quintessential Madison small business. We enjoyed the pho of course, as well as the pork vermicelli salad bun which was delicious!“

Also, not sure if the kitchen has poor extraction but you'll definitely will catch a smell of grease on you after leaving. Eating outside is recommended. Otherwise staff are chill and I could see myself visiting again for a quick breakfast when I come back to Madison.“

“After 29 years of living near Madison, we finally went for dinner last night. Everything was delicious- mocktail, bruschetta, both pasta dishes (mushroom truffle & sausage rigatoni), as well as the light, fluffy desserts (butterscotch pudding & cheesecake with rhubarb/strawberry compote). Super happy our waiter, James, sent us home with an extra baguette & recommended making French toast - which we did today! We’ll be back with friends and recommending to others!“
