With all the problems, - and it seems that nearly each order has come with one or more - I still came back for the great taste of Glass Nickel pizza. However, the most recent issue made me finally decide to take my business elsewhere. My pizza had (over three inches) of no toppings toward the edge. Unacceptable. It appears that the mushrooms are not chopped into bits anymore like in past orders, and that I appreciate, but it looks like the big barren spaces, sans toppings, made up for that. I asked for a refund, but was given a half credit. In addition, I had to dish out more for the tip and delivery charge. I'm finally done with them.“

We loved both the food and the atmosphere so much that when we found ourselves back in Madison over Memorial Day weekend, we knew we had to visit Grampa's again—and we weren't disappointed.
The food was just as outstanding as we remembered, and the staff was incredibly welcoming. The service was attentive and friendly, which made the experience even better. It certainly doesn't hurt that you can grab a cocktail next door while you wait for a table, either. Grampa's remains one of our favorite spots in Madison, and we'll definitely be back the next time we're in town.“

“This is one of my favorite pizza places in Madison! The location is fantastic, as it’s inside Garver Feed Mill, with plenty of indoor seating and outdoor seating available when the weather is nice.

Parking can be a little crowded, especially during peak hours, but we’ve been able to find a spot during each of our visits so far.

We have a toddler, so we’re always looking for places where we can grab a meal, eat comfortably, and leave whenever we need to. This place is perfect for that.

The Smokey the Bandit is my favorite pizza, but other options, including the Mac & Cheese and Buffalo Chicken pizzas, are also delicious. When you place your order at the counter, they send you a text message when your food is ready, so you can find a seat and relax while you wait.

Individual slices are usually available right away, while a whole pizza takes a little longer to prepare, but the wait is generally very reasonable.

I highly recommend this place for families with toddlers. There’s plenty of space to move around with a stroller, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming, relaxed, and family-friendly.“

“I am not from Madison but we frequently visit and stop by Rocky Rococo at least once a month. The staff are always amazing and cheerful, which makes it that much more enjoyable. This location does have a fire place in the middle of the dinning area, and some old school arcade style games as well. Our visits have never been less than enjoyable. I wish they could bring back the movie theater at one of the other locations. I used to take my kids there for a movie and pizza.“

“We came in on a Monday night in the summer. We have been coming here a lot recently. We love the food! Pizza is great, salads and meatballs too! Our table tonight was two young kids and two adults. Most people wouldn't want our table. Servers don't like kids. I assume that means low bill and low tip. However, my husband and I have worked in the restaurant business for a long time! We know how to tip and never order off the kids menu. We were told our server Lydia would be with us shortly. However she never came by. I had to ask for service after we came in to eat and we're very hungry. It was my daughter's birthday and they just got done with Ju Jitsu practice. My daughter told me she was starving. I know! She never came to the table. We were ignored for a while and told to order at the counter. There were open tables and not too many people in the restaurant. Thank you to the shift manager who finally helped us. We also asked Lydia to help with our check at the end and she told us she couldn't help us. She was so rude! Thanks Lydia. If you go on a weekday you might not even get service unless you ask. We'll be back to eat the food and hope we don't ever get Lydia. She was only serving two tables and both were finished before we got our food. She was not that busy but decided she didn't want to serve us.“

“My sister and I came in for some pizza after a day out and we were greeted with smiles. We waited a little while for the staff to catch up with all the other orders which was no problem, they were quite busy. After we ordered we went and sat down at a booth together and the woman working told us our pies were ready! One of the pizzas got a little overdone and she offered to completely redo and it also gave us a free desert for waiting when we came in. 10/10 service and food. “It's a small location, not for dining in, only takeout and delivery. But so far, after about 2 dozen pizzas ordered, they have not disappointed me. They have not yet gotten an order wrong, over or undercooked it, or significantly deviated from the quality and timeliness that I value. All of the employees I've interacted with have been not only polite, but pleasant to talk to as well.“

“When we got there, one family was having their pizza made. We placed our order, a family sized Pappa's All Meat. The one employee was very efficient and had our pizza ready quickly. I appreciated the generous quantity of meat on the pizza. It could have used more cheese, though. Prices are reasonable.“

“This would not be a four star restaurant in Paris or New York, but it is a four star restaurant in a motel in Madison, Wisconsin. I had the sirloin twice during a three-day stay in the motel and found it miles ahead of one I had at a popular bar not far away. I carefully described how I wanted it cooked, and it came just that way on each of the two nights. The mashed potato side is delicious and should not be eaten by anyone!

This is not a fancy restaurant, but is quiet and pleasant. Eating outside on the patio is also enjoyable. Since we live close by, we will be coming back regularly for the excellent food at surprisingly good prices.

Edit: We did go back again last night and I and my son both had the steak. Strangely, it was a lot thinner than before. Maybe 5/8 of an inch instead of 1 inch! It was still cooked correctly, but was no longer exceptional. My wife again had the spring rolls and she indicated they were not cooked as well as before. Also, I should add since people are reviewing it, that the breakfast for motel guests is no big deal. It is a run-of-the-mill motel hot-table breakfast comprising scrambled eggs, probably from powdered, and those little sausages instead of the bacon that the best places have, etc. So only four stars, but still a nice, modest place we will return to.“

It’s a bit of an awkward wait (longer than you’d expect), and I wouldn’t recommend eating at the tables inside unless the weather is poor. Go outside and enjoy the view!

“Despite coming in with a group of 7 people at 12:30 am, the workers on duty were incredibly receptive and patient. The food was hot and fresh overall and the boxes seem to be higher quality than places like dominos or Pizza Hut. Great experience overall, I hadn’t heard of them that much but we will definitely be back!“

“I went to the Echo Tap over the weekend because I had a craving for a burger. I didn’t know that there was a hockey game that night so it was quite busy but our server was very nice and accommodating despite how many tables he had. But the burger I had… it was the BEST burger I’ve had in a long long time! It was cooked perfectly and the flavors were perfect. Highly highly recommend!!“

Not sure why this place received such poor reviews but I have to disagree. I am a huge pizza lover and this hit the spot!

Customer service was great and with a smile.

Picked up a duo pepperoni slice around noon. The slice was soft, cheese was plenty,sauce had the right level of seasoning, and the dough was airy and light.

Perhaps it tasted so good because of the time of day. The lady behind the counter did inform me that all the slices were fresh.

I'd urge you to pick up a slice around noon and see for yourself.“
