“We had heard good things about Lallande and we were not disappointed. We ate at the bar which I would highly recommend. Our server was Nina and she made the evening fun. I had the salmon and my husband had the lamb chops. Generous portions and absolutely delicious. We also had the chicken pate which was so good. But the highlight for us was the carrot tarte. A must have, if you go.The owner Ann Marie was working in the kitchen keeping all the balls in the air, but she took time to visit with us and made us feel extra welcome. Do yourself a favor and dine at Lallande on Monroe St. Perhaps we'll see you there because we'll be back! Five stars.“

“I ordered 10 pizzas for an after-work get-together, and a local buddy here recommended Sal’s tomato pies. Now, to be clear, I'm from Boston, and we have the North End, with some of the best pizza in the world. I was skeptical, but I did it anyway. Was I glad I did! The pizza was amazing and fresh, and the toppings were great. We got a variety of their named pizzas and made a couple of custom ones. The pizza was a big hit! Try it—you can't go wrong, I promise.“

I love walking in, everyone knowing us, sometimes getting our regular table (if we're early enough) and chatting with some of the other regulars. “Good for what it is. Order from counter. Only option is dumplings. Meat, potato, or mix. 1/2 order or full. Select your toppings. Drinks available from cooler. Sit down in another room and they call you when it is ready, or takeout. We got 1/2 order meat and 1/2 potato, both with all fixings which was enough for a light lunch for the three of us. All fixings worked well together. Meat were tastier than potato, which were bland except for fixings. Person at counter was helpful. We bussed our own table. So service was fine for what it was. Eating room was fine. Bathrooms (2 nongender) were small and functional, but worn and well-used.“

“We were in town for a show and swing in for their Tuesday chicken sandwich special. Probably one of the absolute best chicken sandwiches we’ve had. We planned on splitting a sandwich but after a minor mishap, chef ended up making us each a sandwich and my oh my it did not disappoint. Great service, fantastic craft cocktails and delicious food this place will be on our Madison list of places to frequent when in the area.“

“My family and I had a marvelous dinner here. The food was excellent and plentiful, the service was great, and the restaurant is charming. We had the stir-fry beef noodles, thukpa (soup) and the lamb thali, as well as momos for the table and it was all tasty. We also had a lovely conversation with one of the staff about Tibet and Nepal and the regional differences in cuisine. The place is a bit on the small side so you may have to wait for a table, but it is very much worth the wait. I intend to make this a regular stop when I am in Madison.“

“I've eaten all over the world, this is one of the best restaurant experiences I've had in my life. It's not fussy and rehearsed to the moment, instead down to earth, delicious and free flowing with a 90s hip hop soundtrack and laughter abounding. Run do not walk to this restaurant.“

And the random delivery of small plates, which was to be expected, could have been a little bit more even for our table of four. And worth letting us know, when we order, which dishes might take quite a bit longer to prepare and deliver. Nice ambiance and good lighting. 3/5.“

“This cafe has many delicious options for food. It however does not have celiac safe options. The cross contamination is too high. They do note this if you call them by stating that they can't guarantee there isn't. But I would not eat here if you have celiacs because I did twice and it made me incredibly sick. Again the food in my opinion is delicious, it just isn't celiacs safe.“

“College visit with the daughter and we dined here with friends on Saturday 28th Sept and being originally from the UK, and seeing the fish and chips were haddock (not cod) I immediately had to have them and they were the best fish and chips this side of the “pond” having put up with 12 years of “just ok” fish and chips, these were amazing. Not only were the fish and chips good, but every dish was a winner. I am now praying my daughter gets into the college as I will be a regular here.“

“I was addicted to Parthenon Gyros when I lived in Madison thirty years ago. It's now the standard by which I judge every other gyro I have tried across the country. Unfortunately none have matched Parthenon. It's not rose colored glasses because when I went back to Madison for my son's graduation, I had Parthenon again and they were as good as I remembered. When you start delivering to the East coast, I'll be first in line.“
