“Really good pizzas, I got my own small pepperoni pizza with thin crust, not too thin. My boyfriend got a small thick crust of the meat deluxe, he loved it. We shared an order of mozzarella sticks. Even though we did a pick up order they were still crunchy and perfect when we got home. Highly recommend. It was not busy at all as it’s a Sunday afternoon but will be back.“

They were tremendously accommodating for an array of guests' allergies and dietary restrictions, and the catering staff were all lovely. They bring a hot top warming oven with them, so the food is fresh, and the line was handled incredibly efficiently. We are so impressed with and grateful for the service we received from our initial inquiry, to the tasting, to our reception itself. “For a loyal customer patronizing Glass Nickel for decades, I shouldn't be in a position to need to write this. With all the problems, - and it seems that nearly each order has come with one or more - I still came back for the great taste of Glass Nickel pizza. However, the most recent issue made me finally decide to take my business elsewhere. My pizza had (over three inches) of no toppings toward the edge. Unacceptable. It appears that the mushrooms are not chopped into bits anymore like in past orders, and that I appreciate, but it looks like the big barren spaces, sans toppings, made up for that. I asked for a refund, but was given a half credit. In addition, I had to dish out more for the tip and delivery charge. I'm finally done with them.“

“This has been my favorite pizza place since I was a teenager and there was one where we lived. Now I only get to go when I'm near one which isn't often. Today's pizza was soooo good. Sauced just right, nice and hot, and (as always) the sausage was great. This particular location has been one of the best ones and today did not disappoint. I'm already looking forward to a trip that I can use as an excuse to go back to Rocky's again.“

“we came in on a Thursday afternoon at 4:00 so it wasn't busy. The service was good. We liked our drinks, a raspberry martini and an old fashioned. The bruschetta was some of the best we ever had, and we enjoyed the linguine and lasagna.“

“I have to tell you this: some of the best pizza that I've had, I have to say, is even better than Salvatore's tomato pies. They're good, don't get me wrong, but the crust on these pizzas is amazing. The sauce is amazing.

Another thing: if they were to move to Kansas, specifically Kansas City, Wichita, Kansas, and Topeka, they would dominate Domino's, Papa John's, Little Caesars, and Pizza Hut. They would take them all out of business.

When I go home to Kansas, it's definitely going to be a disappointment when I go back to that pizza. I'm going to always think of Rocco's.“

“First time me and the lady have ever had deep dish. Both of us have been wanting to try it for a long time. Placed order over the phone. They were pretty busy when I arrived. Minimal staff pumping out orders. Staff was super kind. They were apologetic for the wait but it was really no problem with how busy they were. 11/10 the pizza was absolutely phenomenal. Some of the best we’ve had. Would recommend to everyone. Will be ordering again soon.“

“The gluten free crust was delicious and I watched the folks working change their gloves when they were handling my pizza to prevent cross contamination. It’s a bit of an awkward wait (longer than you’d expect), and I wouldn’t recommend eating at the tables inside unless the weather is poor. Go outside and enjoy the view!

“This would not be a four star restaurant in Paris or New York, but it is a four star restaurant in a motel in Madison, Wisconsin. I had the sirloin twice during a three-day stay in the motel and found it miles ahead of one I had at a popular bar not far away. I carefully described how I wanted it cooked, and it came just that way on each of the two nights. The mashed potato side is delicious and should not be eaten by anyone!

This is not a fancy restaurant, but is quiet and pleasant. Eating outside on the patio is also enjoyable. Since we live close by, we will be coming back regularly for the excellent food at surprisingly good prices.

Edit: We did go back again last night and I and my son both had the steak. Strangely, it was a lot thinner than before. Maybe 5/8 of an inch instead of 1 inch! It was still cooked correctly, but was no longer exceptional. My wife again had the spring rolls and she indicated they were not cooked as well as before. Also, I should add since people are reviewing it, that the breakfast for motel guests is no big deal. It is a run-of-the-mill motel hot-table breakfast comprising scrambled eggs, probably from powdered, and those little sausages instead of the bacon that the best places have, etc. So only four stars, but still a nice, modest place we will return to.“

And 3 of us were almost done eating before the 4th person got their meal. The servers are just all over the place. I get the concept of everyone helping everyone out but the execution is very poor. I’d much prefer a traditional experience.“
