“Our wedding at the union was fantastic! Sam Mack (venue coordinator) was a great communicator and all of the Union Staff was incredibly attentive and helpful throughout the planning process and day-of. We had our ceremony in Tripp Commons and our cocktail hour and reception in Great Hall. The food was good (not the best I've ever had, but also not the worst), the cocktails and drinks were great, and it was so nice not having to make a million different decisions. They really guide you through the process which was exactly what we were looking for. The Union has done hundreds of weddings and it really shows. The whole day went very smoothly and the price was right! Would highly recommend, especially for UW grads!“

“I was in there yesterday evening (7/29/2022) with my husband and father around 7 pm. Our waitress made a few mistakes in our service. But what meant something to me is that she apologized. She could easily have avoided us. Management had already stepped in. But she didn’t. It took courage to come back to us and say she was sorry. I probably didn’t show it at the time, but I really appreciated that. It showed a great deal of poise and courage.“

“Personally I love everything there. My favorite is the ribs , and you can’t go wrong with any sides. We use to have them in Illinois, but no longer, and with my daughter going to college up there, it’s a real treat for me . I’m not saying it’s for everyone, but for me they are the best.“

“The food here is always very delicious. We got the steamed kimchi buns, the beef soon dubu jigae, and dolsot bibimbap. Perfect for a frigid Madison winter day. The jigae game with rice on the side. The service is always kind and the food is hot and fresh. Small parking lot makes it a little easier added for those who don’t live downtown. Absolutely recommend giving 5 Star a try!“

“Food is all around solid. Ordering is table side via qr code and they bring it to your table pretty quickly (~3-5 minutes this visit).

The Apex galbi, bulgogi, and chicken bulgogi are all good. Definitely get some of the vegetables as well, they're a good balance to a very meat heavy meal. Price as of writing is $35 for 90 minutes of all you can eat, so it's not cheap but you can leave as full as you want to. Our server was great in offering us suggestions and bringing out a small sample of the more Korean desserts so we could try them.

“I had only eaten in a Texas Roadhouse years ago in another state. Let me tell you. I LOVE steak. Honestly it does not get better than this and I know my steak! Everything you get with it is hot and delicious as well, but they know good meat and how to cook a steak. I was a chef at one time. The one on Watts in Madison is my preference. EVERYONE well trained and friendly. You can tell they all have a nice bond also ... management must bed excellent to have such happy staff.“

“Food is amazing. Always hot and fresh! Best chicken and ribs hands down! Mild Sauce and hand cut fries! The sides are sooo good as well. I have had the dressing, yams, mac n cheese and spaghetti. Also the best catfish I have ever had. The only issue I have when I go there is deciding what to order because everything is so good. Even the next day the chicken and fries are good cold lol! Also they are very friendly. My entire family loves this place we drive from Beaver Dam weekly to eat here!“
