“Our wedding at the union was fantastic! Sam Mack (venue coordinator) was a great communicator and all of the Union Staff was incredibly attentive and helpful throughout the planning process and day-of. We had our ceremony in Tripp Commons and our cocktail hour and reception in Great Hall. The food was good (not the best I've ever had, but also not the worst), the cocktails and drinks were great, and it was so nice not having to make a million different decisions. They really guide you through the process which was exactly what we were looking for. The Union has done hundreds of weddings and it really shows. The whole day went very smoothly and the price was right! Would highly recommend, especially for UW grads!“

“I was in there yesterday evening (7/29/2022) with my husband and father around 7 pm. Our waitress made a few mistakes in our service. But what meant something to me is that she apologized. She could easily have avoided us. Management had already stepped in. But she didn’t. It took courage to come back to us and say she was sorry. I probably didn’t show it at the time, but I really appreciated that. It showed a great deal of poise and courage.“

“not only amazing food, but amazing kind and attentive staff who went above and beyond. they were super friendly and sweet the entire time. i had a health issue occur in the middle of dinner (nothing to do with the food!!!) and all the staff came to check in on me, see if i was okay, and even gave me extra water, honey, and milk without me asking to help with what i was going through. they were so kind and caring without being invasive in any way and this made the biggest difference. it seemed like a close knit environment and i loved the energy. the food tasted really good as well. i highly recommend!!!“

“My friend and I were headed to the Mumford & Sons concert and wanted to try something new, so we stopped by 5 Stars K-Chicken. What a find! This new Korean fusion spot has a fun Korean beer tavern vibe, and the inside was spotlessly clean.

We started with the mandu, which was a perfect opener. For mains, I had the japchae and my friend had the bulgogi. Both were delicious, and the portions were big enough that we each had plenty to take home.

Food came out fast, which was ideal since we had a show to catch, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Friendly, attentive, and no rushing us.

They also serve Korean Fried Chicken, which I'm looking forward to trying next time.

“Personally I love everything there. My favorite is the ribs , and you can’t go wrong with any sides. We use to have them in Illinois, but no longer, and with my daughter going to college up there, it’s a real treat for me . I’m not saying it’s for everyone, but for me they are the best.“

“I had only eaten in a Texas Roadhouse years ago in another state. Let me tell you. I LOVE steak. Honestly it does not get better than this and I know my steak! Everything you get with it is hot and delicious as well, but they know good meat and how to cook a steak. I was a chef at one time. The one on Watts in Madison is my preference. EVERYONE well trained and friendly. You can tell they all have a nice bond also ... management must bed excellent to have such happy staff.“
