“Our wedding at the union was fantastic! Sam Mack (venue coordinator) was a great communicator and all of the Union Staff was incredibly attentive and helpful throughout the planning process and day-of. We had our ceremony in Tripp Commons and our cocktail hour and reception in Great Hall. The food was good (not the best I've ever had, but also not the worst), the cocktails and drinks were great, and it was so nice not having to make a million different decisions. They really guide you through the process which was exactly what we were looking for. The Union has done hundreds of weddings and it really shows. The whole day went very smoothly and the price was right! Would highly recommend, especially for UW grads!“

“not only amazing food, but amazing kind and attentive staff who went above and beyond. they were super friendly and sweet the entire time. i had a health issue occur in the middle of dinner (nothing to do with the food!!!) and all the staff came to check in on me, see if i was okay, and even gave me extra water, honey, and milk without me asking to help with what i was going through. they were so kind and caring without being invasive in any way and this made the biggest difference. it seemed like a close knit environment and i loved the energy. the food tasted really good as well. i highly recommend!!!“

“I was in there yesterday evening (7/29/2022) with my husband and father around 7 pm. Our waitress made a few mistakes in our service. But what meant something to me is that she apologized. She could easily have avoided us. Management had already stepped in. But she didn’t. It took courage to come back to us and say she was sorry. I probably didn’t show it at the time, but I really appreciated that. It showed a great deal of poise and courage.“

“We hired Heritage Catering to provide dinner for our micro-wedding. We worked with Stephanie to sort out the details. She was communicative and very helpful. We gave quite a bit of leeway for the chefs to create a menu, but they also had no problem accounting for a vegetarian option and a few ingredients we didn’t love. We had charcuterie and asparagus spring rolls for appetizers. We were able to give our guests three entree options—braised short rib, chicken marsala, and asparagus vol-au-vent. Then we also had bread and butter and a variety of mini desserts. They were on time, left the space clean, and the food was absolutely delicious!

“Personally I love everything there. My favorite is the ribs , and you can’t go wrong with any sides. We use to have them in Illinois, but no longer, and with my daughter going to college up there, it’s a real treat for me . I’m not saying it’s for everyone, but for me they are the best.“

Unfortunately recently I came by and there was a sign on the door that it’s no longer in business, darn. However all the sites are not properly updated yet to reflect the closure so I think that should be fixed so more people don’t come to waste time. Looking around it seems it may be rebranding or reopening under a new name or owner? Hope it’s as good if so. So far not too thrilled about the AI generated “coming soon” flyer the new 5 star has posted and personally I would not like to give my money to local businesses that want to cut corners like that. Also the AI generated food just looks repulsive, sorry. Why not just take pictures of the actual food and just try to work with them to make something without AI? Some art students at the university would probably love to help, I think…“
