“This is a great restaurant to enjoy with family and friends. The food and service are always very good. Plenty of seating, and a really good value cost wise. As busy as they get the sound levels are comfortable, and you will never run out of coffee.“
“I’ve been in Madison for a the past couple of months on a work contract, and as my contract comes to an end this is one of the places I’ll probably miss the most. My favorite breakfast combo? Two medium eggs with hash browns a portion of meatloaf and a one delicious pancake. At first, I was skeptical about the combination… but there’s something magical about dipping the perfectly spiced meatloaf into the runny yolk of eggs that just doesn’t compare to anything else. The hash browns are the perfect combination of pillowy and crunchy.. The pancakes? Absolute perfection. I’m lamenting that I’ll never be able to find anything like the when I leave. I’m convinced that their grill is so perfectly seasoned that it adds a unique flavor to the pancakes that can only be found at Ogdens.I’ve had the chance to go several times during my time in Madison, and NEVER leave disappointed. I’m going to miss it so much!“
“Best old school diner in the Madison area. I've eaten here (usually with my family) MANY times. Food is consistently good. Service is friendly and welcoming. Prices are affordable. What's not to love?! We usually are here for breakfast, but if you're getting lunch, try their fries!“
“Stopped in for lunch during a trip to Madison. My Reuben was so good! Sometimes you can just tell that food is being prepared with a little extra care, and I definitely felt this way at Copper Top. I will definitely visit again when in that part of town.“
“We were in Madison for a special event and wanted to check this place out since we love diners/greasy spoons/breakfast. So happy we chose this place 10 out of 10 would recommend! Prices are great staff was super friendly, only downside is that they are cash only. They do have an ATM on site though.Dietary restrictions: A member of our party has a weird food allergy and when brought to the attention of the staff, they took it very seriously. Would recommend this place if you do have one, may just be easier to do when not busy.“
“A local favorite for a filling breakfast or lunch. Kids will love the chocolate chip pancakes. A short stack is hearty enough for most young appetites.Recommend corned beef hash or eggs Benedict for more mature appetites.Get there early or expect a line. The wait is worth it but you may get hit with sticker shock. They pay their staff better than most establishments and you can taste the quality.“
“We stayed two nights at the AC Hotel in July. We stayed here because of its proximity to the Art Fair on the Square going on that weekend and nudged by the fact that one of us is a Marriott member. This is a typical Marriott property in that there wasn’t anything outrageously bad or outrageously terrific about it; it was absolutely fine for our needs. It’s a nice, newer hotel, and our 6th floor king room was very quiet. Our room was comfy, and the bed was especially comfy. We had to clip the curtains together with skirt hangers for total darkness but it wasn’t nearly as bad as in some hotels. The shower had great temperature controls and great water pressure. The room had faux wood vinyl flooring throughout, which is trendy but felt a bit cheap. We did have a little view of the lake from our room, which was nice. The bar upstairs is very popular and has great views of the Capitol, so if you want a good seat, get there before prime time! The fitness center had lower-end Matrix cardio equipment, but it is a pretty well-stocked gym. You have a great of the Capitol here as well while you are sweating up a storm, so that is really nice! They have chilled towels and a water bottle filler (nice) but no disinfectant wipes (not nice). While we were working out, one of the cleaners just grabbed the towels and emptied the trash, so we’re not sure how clean the fitness center is kept up on a daily basis. On a related note, maid service is only if you are staying more than two days, a US hotel hangover from the pandemic years that we devoutly wish would go away. When we did ask for more water, more towels, etc things did get handled quickly, but it’s super annoying to have to ask for everything, just as it’s super annoying to make your own bed in a room you paid for. Valet is $34 a day – pricey but we thought worth it, as downtown was completely packed with people that weekend, and the parking is right under the hotel; by scanning a QR code and texting for your car from your room, by the time you get down in the (ponderously slow at times) elevator, your car is waiting for you. We would suggest skipping the $15 breakfast – we made a pass-through to check it out and, after noticing the out-of-order espresso machine and the sad assortment of things that in a lot of hotels would be part of the “breakfast included” amenity, went to a nearby restaurant. All in all, this AC Hotel isn’t bad, and if we needed to stay downtown for a reason it’s a good choice.“
“Such a fabulous way to spend a morning. A Madison grown, owned, and operated environment. Hard to find these days!!Such a beautifully classic breakfast experience! From the fresh squeezed oj (yes FRESH SQUEEZED) to the flavors of the hollandaise and the most fluffy did-my-grandma-make-these type of pancakes!!The service was wonderful. We will definitely be back!! Thank you!!“
“Such a great place! They give you a lot of food, super tasty, great service and atmosphere. Literally nothing to complain about and now I'm glad I live close enough to walk to whenever I want to.Plan ahead though as they only accept cash (they do have an ATM on site though) can't wait to try even more foods there! The chili is crazy good if you like chili you must get it! So flavorful and just perfectly done!“
