Most of the photos and information about Ale Asylum posted here can be very misleading (and probably should be removed) because they are actually taken from Ale Asylum's now defunct location on Packers Avenue and International Lane. That business closed for good in 2022-- but Karben4 Brewing (which just happens to be in Ale Asylum's ORIGINAL business location on Kinsman Blvd.) has acquired the Ale Asylum brand and is now brewing some of that company's beers. That said, I have enjoyed Karben4's own beers and I'm very happy that they are making some of my favorite Ale Asylum beers.

Great beer! They are open!

Worst IPA I have ever had… like some metal gone sour with citrus. I don’t usually go out of my way to review things, but it couldn’t be avoided… I made the mistake of purchasing a second 6 pack and slowly, painfully made my way through them, thinking maybe I was mistaken the last 3-5 times I cracked open a can or two? Maybe they sat too long? Maybe they were shaken? No. It’s just bad beer.

Madison, y'all slept on this place! It's awesome, with fantastic staff and ambiance. Ale Asylum will always mean Madison to me.

Good selection of brews, especially if you favor IPAs and good atmosphere. The Staff at the bar were very friendly too ?

Great beer and great food. The brewery itself has a great vibe, as well.

Really enjoyed this brewery. Great beer selection and nice outdoor area with plenty of room. Cheers?

Great food and beers. The staff was great also. Can't wait for things to get back to pre covid-19 normalcy. Food was served in a to go style. Got remember Dane county was one the counties with the most restrictions. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Great beer, curds, and bar staff!

Fantastic food and excellent service. The drink selection is good, but they focus far too heavily on IPAs and other hoppy beers. Unsurprisingly, pretty much all the non-IPAs were sold out on tap. That being said, if you like pale ales, this is definitely the place for you!

Truly one of the best brewery’s of the Midwest! They take their beer seriously and they play just as hard. I highly recommend Ale Asylum.

Great food. Very little wait staff. You order at bar and someone brings it to you.
