Note to future guests that this location is not pet friendly.

I went with my puppy who was in a crate to socialize her because I read a Google review that said Ancora had a dog photo wall and was dog friendly, and it was listed as pet friendly in Fido.com . The patio seating wasn't open either but they said if it was, then pets can go there. Only service animals allowed inside the University location or otherwise there is a downtown location that allows pets inside.

Staff member gave us to-go coffee cups and I thought they would help us pour our drink but they just left. The mug was too big and spilled our drinks on the table and floor. We cleaned it up as best we could but I felt like they could have taken the drinks to the back and packaged it for us considering it was still full.

Ok. Recommend puttin the coffee out for self serve. Food ok. Nice presentation. I had a burrito that was good and filling albeit not very flavorful. Nice atmosphere. Loaded w people appearing to work or study. The lady next to us occupied two tables! That there were quite a few folks lookin for seating completely lost on her. Sad and selfish. My real rub is with the coffee service. Coffee was good. But there was no self serve refill. When i asked the fella running the espresso machine for a refill he mumbled something unintelligible and pointed at another person workin behind the counter. By this this time the order line was too the door so i tossed in the towel gettin a refill. Staff was prty busy.

While visiting Madison we like to try something fun and new. While this experience was new it was nowhere near fun. We arrived and the staff was friendly but the environment is tiny and crammed. Full of individuals taking up 2-4 seats by themselves camping out on computers and not leaving in a timely manner to allow other customers space to enjoy their own foods. My suggestion to this establishment is to limit the time allowed on the WiFi rather than ask people to move around the back counter top to make room for other patrons. Would not recommend to anyone looking for a good sit down place, as it is busy and the majority of the tables are tea table barely big enough for two plates. Will not be back to this establishment when visiting the city. Absolutely disappointed after reading the positive reviews before visiting.

This place was highly recommended by my favorite Wisconsin Tiktoker who raves about their coconut cold brew (spoiler alert- it did not disappoint). The space itself is so charming and spacious. The staff was friendly and recommended something of a brown sugar espresso but it was not good at all unfortunately. For brunch, we ordered the Tex Mex Hash which had carne guisada (seasoned slow cooked beef), breakfast potatoes, queso fresco, over easy eggs, and veggies. It was good but not great. The star of the show was the coconut cold brew and everything else fell a little flat to us. I would definitely try a few other menu items next time!

The coffee was great. I had a breakfast burrito and it tasted good in general but it was pretty fatty for my taste!
Other than that, everything was pretty good

Coffee and Latte good flavor. Drip coffee served luke warm, cooled too quickly with milk. Pumpkin mix in the latte withOUT dairy, tasted great!

Avocado toast was plentiful and had protein-rich, creative toppings! No boring 2mm spread of guacamole to make it "Avocado." The only issue, for some: it's a "sweet" dish as the brussel sprouts are cooked in maple syrup (?) or something similar. Be mentally prepared, and you'll love it.

Breakfast potatoes - wow! Bite size, crunchy, not burned, hot, salty.... YUM

It is usually busier if you are ordering food than if you're just picking up coffee! Just a heads up, the wait time is true for getting just coffee, but if you're looking at getting food, expect a ~30-40 minute wait! Other than that the staff is super friendly, and the food and coffee was great! It's a seat yourself cafe which can make it difficult to find a spot for your party. It's very well lit with lots of outdoor and indoor seating. They could use some more water cups though!

My favorite place to bring my brother after a trip to the VA hospital

Wheelchair accessibility: Eating outside is the most convenient and what we prefer but we make it work inside every time we want to

The food here is excellent for a coffee shop. There is great natural light inside so it’s a nice place to spend some time. My only complaint is that the tables are always dirty. Customers are supposed to leave their dirty plates and cups at the tables, but no one comes to bus them or wipe in a timely manner. There’s often nowhere to sit because every table has dirty dishes on it. I’m here now watching some poor guy wander around with nowhere to sit because of all the unbussed tables. It’s also just icky to always have to rearrange other people’s dirty dishes to just make a little spot to set your coffee down.
