This food was so-so, I feel that Applebees has gone downhill over the years. I used to love going there and I loved their food and I especially loved their Lemonade's! But they have definitely changed and I went there just because it was convenient to meet a friend. Our server was so so, I don't know if he was new, he kind of seemed like he was new. One of my biggest pet peeves is when servers are too attentive, like constantly and mean like every 5 minutes, literally coming over and asking if everything is okay or "how things are tasting and I hate that "how things are tasting" that servers are saying now! But it was really annoying because my friend and I were trying to have a conversation and he was constantly interrupting. It could have been out of boredom because we were there on a weekday afternoon and it was right before the holiday so it was kind of dead. I mean there were other people there but not busy. But I think he should have found something else to do. Nice guy but really annoying!

The food was good, but I got halfway through my Oriental Grilled Chicken Salad before I realized there was no chicken hiding in the salad. This was a pick up order, so I didn't feel like driving 20 minutes back just for chicken. Normally, I have no issues with my orders at Applebees, so this was a disappointment.

Hands down the best Applebee's I have been to, the service here is over 5 stars. This is the first time I have had a sever shake my hand and introduce himself to the entire table.

Your staff should not be trained to shake the customer hand. It is not sanitary when you are about to eat your meal. The trainees should not be drilled about their training in front of the customer. They should be taken off to the side for a discreet conversation. A person's dignity is key.

Went in today at 330-very few tables were filled. We were seated right away and sat there for 20min with a hungry kid and no one ever once came to take our drink/food order or say anything to us. There were at least three waiters/waitresses working(max of 10 tables filled) . One family that was there ended getting up and having to ask for refills on their drinks another family there had the manager walk by asking if they needed anything and told him they wanted to order. Waitress came over to talk to some girls at the table behind us and made eye contact with us but never came to serve us. She would continually serve other tables and just keep looking at us. We got up and left

The service was very slow, but not because of our server. Maybe the issue was in the kitchen. FOH seemed to be understaffed (which I understand happens) but the manager didn't really, well manage. He tried to do everything himself with poor communication to the crew. Also, yelling across the entire restaurant, whether it be to your employee, or to a guest, is never well received. Probably will not return. I hope things get easier for you

Our food did take longer than seemed reasonable to come out, but everything was delicious and charming (their Caesar salad is very good). Our waitress was very friendly and experienced too.

Our waiter Terrance was awesome, he's hands down one of the best ones in any Madison restaurant. Food was great other than my wife's steak was a tad over cooked.

We just went here to get dinner. There was no wait and were immediately seated by a young lady who seemed very angry about something. The restaurant was not busy, there were many open tables. My husband and I sat at the table for no less than 15 minutes watching servers wander around, congregate at the bar and talk and basically ignore us. We waited and watched and at about 20 minutes with no drinks, no server even approaching our table, we left. Came over to Laredo's which is packed and has a wait list. Acknowledged and seated within 5 minutes and got drinks and appetizers in another 5-10 minutes. There is absolutely no excuse for the way Applebee's does business. It is no wonder their business has all but gone under.

Went there earlier and the service was terrible. They sat us at our table and totally ignored us. We ended up leaving.

Good service and delicious food. I give them 4/5 only because it took longer than it should have for us to get our food (the waitor actually said this to us). Decent value. Delicious food

I REALLY wish I would have read the reviews before I went there!! If I could rate it a zero, I would. Horrible service, horrible management. Sounded like there was a party in the kitchen. Less than 10 customers in the whole place. Took 10 minutes to get service, and much longer for anything to be set on our table. Nothing was removed (dirty plates) ever. Had to go to the bar to ask for the check. Will NEVER be back!!

We had a waitress that was simply fantastic, although the rest of the visit sucked with A capital S! The manager refused to turn down music that was being played way too loud. And then one of the kitchen staff decided to sit in the dining area and try to drowned out the restaurant music with his iPhone music, then he wanted to argue with me as to whether or not I like AC/DC. This would not be my first choice ever again. In fact we most likely will never go back there again. Food was not hot at least the pork riblets. The only saving grace was our waitress! Wish her all the luck and happiness in the world, the restaurant itself and the manager Randy can bite it.

Worst service! My fiancé and I went there for a second time with a free entree voucher (since we had poor service the first time we went there). Let's put it this way... we didn't even get to use the voucher because we left after waiting 15 minutes for someone to even notice us to get our drink orders. I've never been to a restaurant where I have been completely ignored. We finally left after hearing the table behind us tell the server that they got their order wrong. The server argued before replacing it. We left and went to Babes. Which has great service and food. I'm pretty sure no one at Applebee's noticed we left.
