It's a conveniently located Indian restaurant, but the prices are way too high, and the atmosphere and the service quality doesn't match the prices charged for the food. I'm assuming most of the pricing is real estate driven rather than the effort/quality put into the cuisine.

Amazing, authentic Indian food. My boyfriend and I got the chicken tikka masala and tandoori malai chicken. Up to par with The Globe in our opinion!

Absolutely amazing everything. The chicken kabobs were some of the best grilled marinated chicken I've ever had, and the garlic Naan was also hands down the best I've had anywhere here Stateside.

It pains me to write this because this place used to be one of my go-to spots in Madison since it opened. Earlier in the summer, I was ordering multiple times a week despite the absurdly high prices because the food was that good.
They never really addressed the excess oil in dishes even when I requested less oil but the flavors made up for it. Recently, though, it’s obvious something has changed maybe a new chef or a decision to tone down the spices for the local palate. The naan has become dry, my recent aloo gobi had nearly uncooked cauliflower and tasted completely different from before, and the dal tadka was thick and oddly sweet. Biryani rice was clearly overcooked.
It’s genuinely disappointing because this used to be one of the few Indian places in Madison I could recommend without hesitation. Now the food tastes off, and at the current prices, it’s just not worth it. I have barely finished my last few orders (I hate throwing food away and have wasted quite literally $250+ at this point giving them a chance) and have decided to stop ordering altogether.
A real shame., especially since their sister restaurant, Globe, has stayed consistent over the years.

Worst biryani with full of oil. Go to Amber indian restaurant instead.

It was a Sunday night. One server and the entire place became packed quickly. The place was dirty and I saw someone in the kitchen touch the food with bare hands that she definitely didn't wash before. If we didn't already order I would have left.
Had to hunt down someone to get anything and to pay. Ridiculous. Food wasn't that great either.

I ordered Paneer butter masala which is ok but I especially asked the person over the phone if the Goat biryani is dum biryani and he Uttered a big yes with confidence but man that biryani is bad at different levels. Had to literally had to trash it just after one bite.
