Quality Food served fast. I had the Baked Beans and Fire Braised Chicken sandwich. Sandwich was good but very soggy on the bottom which is not great. Beans were savory and had bacon if thats your thing.

We had our ceremony in Tripp Commons and our cocktail hour and reception in Great Hall. The food was good (not the best I've ever had, but also not the worst), the cocktails and drinks were great, and it was so nice not having to make a million different decisions. They really guide you through the process which was exactly what we were looking for. The Union has done hundreds of weddings and it really shows. The whole day went very smoothly and the price was right! Would highly recommend, especially for UW grads!

The Memorial Union/Terrace is such an iconic location in downtown Madison and we are so grateful to have had our wedding there after meeting each other in undergrad. Sam Mack, the event manager we worked with, was so helpful throughout the process and helped us make decisions if we were having trouble deciding something and all his suggestions were spot on. He was extremely communicative, responsive, helpful, and organized. He made planning the wedding a breeze and it was so helpful that so much is done in house that we really didn't need to worry about finding a number of other vendors or coordinating with multiple people. It was also such an affordable venue compared to others we looked at and the vibes are unlike anything you will ever find anywhere else.
The venue itself was gorgeous. With the ceremony overlooking the Terrace, the people outside enjoying a nice day with their friends and families were all so excited and supportive of us when we were walking around and you won’t get that at any other venue. We had people at the terrace buy us beer and got such fun and iconic pictures because of it. The terrace crowd erupted in cheering and applause when we kissed at the end of our ceremony and it was such a fun, memorable, and cool memory.
The staff were all so helpful and efficient. Dinner was served to everybody as fast as I’ve ever seen at any other wedding I’ve been to. The food was delicious, and from what the other vendors told us, the managers make it so easy for them to get in, get out, and set up/take down. The bar staff were so helpful and kind, and we couldn't be more grateful or appreciative to have gotten married at the Memorial Union. It was the best decision we made, hands down, especially as alumni. We would highly recommend doing your wedding at the union!

Always love the union, the setting and the mix of people. The menu at the lounge has interesting options. The hummus platter was well presented with mix of nicely roasted and raw vegetables, easily enough for 2. The Boneless chicken wings were just ok. Being guaranteed a table is a plus. I hope the union offers this going forward when the university is not in session.
Nice scenery! The service is OK and the food is good but not great, but the location is second to none!

Our visit was wonderful. The food was great and they accommodated the gluten-free member of our party. The cocktail was good though a bit expensive. Overall, a fantastic evening!

The view of the sunset can't be beat around town. The menu is limited to pizza and apps but both were good. The cocktails were great and there were plenty of wines and beers available. Servers were friendly and helpful. The only disappointment is that they were holding all the tables at the waters edge for large parties (of 6 or more) and because we had 4 they wanted to seat us at a small table at the rear near the alley/street. I thought this was unfair and they should have a mix of accommodations up front for both small and larger parties. The hostess kindly spoke to her manager for us and they made an accommodation for us so that we could have a better view. It just made for an awkward first impression of this lovely spot. Hopefully this restaurant returns next year!
