“We were staying locally to go to Mt. Southington and decided to go to Hop Haus for dinner. It’s a rustic looking tavern with a ski lodge town feel on the inside. The staff could not have been for friendly. They were cheerful and helpful with dinner suggestions and very attentive to our needs. I ordered an unseasonable drink that I love year round and it was made perfectly, accented with a dried slice of lime giving it the perfect look and taste. We started with the spinach artichoke dip which was delicious. I ordered the bacon brie burger that our waitress suggested and it did not disappoint. My husband and one of our kids ordered the bourbon bacon chicken sandwich which they said were awesome. Thanks so much we can’t wait to come back again when we are in town next!“

“Stopped here for lunch while cruising out to a distillery. The place was pretty empty on a weekday lunch. Server was alright, seemed kind of annoyed when we wanted to modify one of the burgers. Then she said they don’t have any mayo in the place, ok. So we ended up with some tenders and a fish sandwich. The tenders are super good. Order sauce at 75 cents a piece and got none of it lol. The fish was actually pretty good too. Kind of like an actually good filet o fish. I went there to try the beer. The first one I ordered after 5 minutes was told they didnt have anymore. So, I ordered a flight of whatever they had. They do not list prices, sizes, or what options there are for flights. I guess it is a I’ll kind of place, and if you don’t, to bad. The beers I tried were alright. The pumpkin spice is horrible though. Got our kid a shirt and peaced out. Food alright. Service fine. Beer is nothing extraordinary.“
“I photographed a wedding at Lone Girl this past weekend and I was BLOWN AWAY. I was so impressed by the space and staff. The patio was perfect for the ceremony and mingling. The dinner space was simply but elegantly decorated and I know the bride and groom really appreciated not having to bring in their own decor.
And I really want to give a huge shout out to the staff. We had a bit of a rain delay but as soon as it cleared up, they got everything dry so quickly. It seems like such a small thing but for a bride and groom to be able to trust that the venue has their back isn’t always a guarantee and this small detail goes a long way.
I would highly recommend Lone Girl as a wedding venue for anyone looking for a unique space to have a smaller wedding ❤️“
