The seafood combinations at Capitain Frank Seafood Boiler in the Global Market are delicious! We were able to create our own combination with crab legs, mussels, clans, shrimp and so much more. The sides are delicious too, sausage, corn, potatoes, egg, etc. I haven't tried the other dishes yet but looking forward to it.
Ordered:$19.99 crab legs 1/2 lb. Legs were small and came with large knuckle section that was half the weight and no meat. Total meat weight 1.9 oz . Yes, I weighed it LOL$19.99 1/2 lb. Large head on shrimp. Boil time was too long. Also, shrimp were old and mushy making peeling next to impossible. Amazing what you can mask with enough Old Bay.Seafoods hard and I get that, this was a fail on both ordersTough call when you drop $50 for two and still hungry
Very nice place the price was good The portions were great just don't ask for cocktail sauce lol we both had some birthday drinks which were very good The tables are spacious and the decor of the eating area is wonderful if you need to get away and enjoy some shrimp crab potatoes sausage boy it's a treat
Captain Frank's is one the restaurants in this hidden gem of a food court inside the global market on the east side (where babies r us used to be). THIS IS THE BEST SEAFOOD BOIL IN MADISON. Great combo options, super tasty house seasoning as well!
We were happy with our waitress and thought the food was just ok. We had the snow crab and shrimp boil. Seasoning was ok, but the crab legs were very hard to get meat out of. The pliers for cracking them mostly squished the legs and made it harder to get the meat out of them. I wish they had given us shears or cut the legs for us. We also ordered sushi, but it was not on par with other sushi we have had. Decent meal at an ok price.
This restaurant offers Cajun-style seafood boilers, but also Poke bowls, Sushi and some other Asian-inspired stuff. We were mostly after the boilers, since only 2 restaurants in Madison area (to the best of our knowledge) offer such stuff, while Sushi and Poke are sold at every corner. Boilers were great - no complaints. Appetizers - not so, since most have french fries included - nod to Americans who love their junk food; in my opinion menu could do without it, since french fries are also sold at every corner. Right now the place only serves to go (pandemic) - I ordered over the phone while driving down there from Middleton, it was ready when I arrived; parking is scarce to non-existent, as always the case downtown.
over cooked lobster. under cooked potatoes. Garlic butter shouldn't be brown. lobster meat shouldn't be brown. the soda was great.
I stopped here while visiting Madison for the week. I had the seafood boil with the crab legs and corn and potatoes. I got all the spices and it was soooo good. Being from Wisconsin it could’ve had a little more butter (never enough!) but it was delicious and I will definitely be back. The crab legs were a little on the skimpy side but considering the location (versus the ocean) I’m not complaining. Highly recommend.
Asian inspired food/seafood. I thought I was going to a seafood restaurant. Disappointing appetizers and desserts. Seafood was ok but was over priced. I had to peel my own shrimp. Expected more for the price. Waitstaff were friendly.
The food was excellent, the service could use some tweaking.Good location walking distance from the Capitol Square
