This was my first time in here rather than ordering delivery. I ordered at the counter for takeout. Got good dumplings. Spent 20 and got 3 kinds

The front desk staff was too rude and impatient. Most of the dishes are pre-made. Not recommended.

Dont get the soup dumplings or cucumber salad. There's no soup inside the dumplings and the dough was so thick. The cucumber salad was literally just chopped up cucumbers, no sauce or anything (that i could taste).

Underwhelming bowl of beef noodle soup. Just 4 slices of lukewarm beef. Soup itself was ok, milky broth, but not particularly memorable. Noodles were fine. For my money i prefer the noodle soup at Ryu hand pulled noodles up the street.

Great dumplings at a reasonable price. I loved how juicy and flavorful they were, and the dipping sauce was delicious. I liked the 3 treasures dumpling the most. Would come back.

A very cute and friendly spot but the soup dumplings are terrible. There was no soup and the meat and dough seemed undercooked. I’m sure there are other good menu items here but avoid the soup dumplings.

Small place, big food! Stopped in looking for dumplings and was pleasantly surprised, you get a good amount for your money here as the portions are filling! There is a spice bar with garlic, green onions parsley and chili oils. Really enjoyed the food and would highly recommend if your looking for something tasty, especially on a budget and don't mind taking it to go. Food was not pre made, bumps were prepared and chicken after we ordered and absolutely delicious!

Granted I ordered wonton soup around 10 pm, but the wontons were so overcooked that they were gooey, a gelatinous mess. The restaurant should not have served these. Gross!

Fun and inexensive little hole-in-the-wall kind of joint. Got the river snail soup (luosifen), a few different dumplings, and custard buns. Great soup, a rather rare find as well. Honestly for what you're paying, dumpling weren't bad but compared to Chinatown (chicago) eh. Custard buns looked a little too perfect - probably retail but still reasonable price.

I ordered the crab&pork soup dumpling. The dumplings must be steamed from frozen ones that had been stored in the freezer for a long time because all wraps are hard and broken, no soup at all. Also, the cooking time seems not enough as the flour is somewhat not fully cooked. Taste awful. Zero star if possible.

I recently visited the Chens Dumpling house with high expectations, as I’m a big fan of dumplings and Asian cuisine, but sadly, the experience fell far short. We ordered the pork dumplings, pork steamed buns, and chicken udon soup, and none of the dishes met our expectations.
The pork dumplings were a letdown with a gooey, almost undercooked texture that made them unappetizing. The pork steamed buns were equally disappointing, lacking flavor and freshness. Worst of all, the chicken udon soup had an off-putting smell, reminiscent of soap or hot water, which made it impossible to enjoy. We couldn’t finish any of the dishes, which is rare for us given how much we usually love this type of food.
The service was average, but the poor food quality overshadowed the entire visit. I hope this was an off day for the shop, as I’d love to give them another chance in the future, but based on this experience, I wouldn’t recommend it.
