Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

We were driving through to MN. We were unaware it was only one cook on staff. Most if our party got food four of us did not. We were told our server had anxiety issues with crowds. Needless to say we left. The manager gave a large percentage off the bill for parr of our family.

I didn't give you any stars, we stopped in at Cracker Barrel in Madison, Wi on Saturday. We were seated and waited 20 minutes and didn't get served, so we had to leave and go someplace for lunch.

On 02/28/2025 we tried each of the 2 new shrimp skillet dishes and we would order both of them again.

The Shrimp N' Grits was good but WAY TO LOOSE. Manager said it's been a common complaint and they're working on it. Time will tell. I'm looking forward to the change.

The Louisiana Shrimp Skillet was very good but lacking the necessary Cajun flair to live up to the name. That said, my wife loved it.

Went to dine in for dinner. The menu had changed and noticed pricing increases. The biggest disappointment was that the hamburger steak was mot on the menu. Not sure why it wasn’t but disappointed as this meal was a good value and tasted good. Not sure if my family will be dining as much at Cracker Barrel as this was a go to meal for some of us. The waitress seemed very uninterested in her job and the restaurant was not busy at all.

I love the unlimited biscuits and gravy, and the unlimited corn muffins. The ambiance with the fire and the lanterns on the tables is delightful. It's also nice being able to shop and look around after or before dining. Highly recommend, especially if you're looking for old fashion experience.

I've been a frequent Cracker Barrel customer for years, but tonight was a disappointment. I arrived, waited for several minutes at the host stand, and no one came to seat me. So I turned and walked out, and still no one seemed to notice. I'll visit other Cracker Barrel locations again, but probably not this one, even though I live nearby.

Visited the East side of Madison cracker barrel on East Springs Drive... the atmosphere, the restaurant was FREEZING 🥶 even with the fireplace going.. asked to be moved closer to the fireplace, I was but still freezing... the waitress only came by 1 time and asked if I wanted a refill , unfortunately it was when we were leaving. Will not be returning to this place anytime soon .

We had breakfast platter in evening, ham was very dry like it sat since breakfast in morning, eggs scrambled very dry, corn muffins were hard.

My family used to love coming here regularly, but within the last 2 years it has really gone downhill. The quality of the staff has gone down so significantly that I don't think we will go back. We've visited several locations in the Wisconsin area and it is unfortunately happening all over.

We have been going here for many years. After my visit about a year ago..I have been turned off. The food was not good. Hope it is better now.
The ambiance with the fireplace is very nice.
