Very nice place. Had the Hangar Steak. It was great. Service was also very good. Smells incredible, if you like campfires, which I do.

Excellent service. Inviting cabin-like atmosphere. Food very good with ample portion (half rack of ribs). Easy to find location. Prices a bit high, but not too bad for a big city. Local wines on the menu - try the Wollersheim Prairie Fume.

Visited Doolittle's for lunch today with my co-workers, was a little nervous to try it based on other reviews but I was very happy with my whole experience. We started our meal off with the Parmesan Artichoke dip, it was tasty and fresh. I ordered the fish tacos as my meal and the fish was cooked to perfection. Service was excellent, server stopped by for drink refills and got us in and out at a decent time since we were on lunch break.

I took my fiancee to Madison, WI for a nice Valentine's Day getaway. For dinner I made reservations at a place called Doolittle's Woodfire Grill. Let me tell you that this place is OUTSTANDING. It is hard to find a place that serves a great steak anymore unless you want to pay 50 bucks per plate or more. To start we ordered the Fried Cheese Curds, and it came with either Raspberry or Cranberry jalapeno sauce. While we waited, they did have some type of Rosemary bread and butter that came to the table, and was pretty good! They were so amazing. The batter on them was a light crispy batter, and they basically just melt in your mouth. Had an amazing cheese pull to them, and in other words if you're not sure what cheese pull means, it means that they had a nice stretch of cheese to them. My fiancee ordered the fish fry, which he ended up getting coleslaw and french fries with it. Usually fish fry's have 3 pieces of Cod, but this had 4, and they were huge!!! Not only were they big pieces of fish, but they were battered with some type of herbed panko breadcrumb coating. He never had a fish fry like that before, and neither have I. He had me try a bite of it, and it was SO GOOD!!! The french fries were well seasoned, but they weren't that hot, and that is the only somewhat negative thing I can say about his dish. I ordered the 12 oz. Ribeye Steak with Bacon Whipped Mashed Potatoes, and charred Broccolini. Everything was so good!!! The steak was cooked to perfection. The inside of the restaurant very cozy. We sat in the back where the fireplace was, and it was so nice. A candle was lit on the table, and actually had a real flame! The service was fast, the waitress was friendly, and the entire experience was superb! We will certainly be back!!! Doolittle's thank you for making this evening special. It was amazing, and you certainly didn't disappoint!!!

I don't usually think of chain restaurants on the outskirts of a mall as 4-star quality, but Doolittles was a very pleasant surprise!! I came in here with some family members, and we had been intending to go elsewhere but needed to be closer to the Interstate as my family was traveling through Madison. We ended up here, and it was quite lovely. The inside atmosphere was very well done and felt less like a chain than a lot of other chain restaurants in the area. They have an open ish kitchen and you can see the rotisserie chickens spinning and the flames churning. A nice touch. My family mentioned that they were in a bit of a rush, and staff worked to accommodate a quick order, food, and check delivery while flawlessly dealing with my family members... sometimes they can be impatient and have unrealistic expectations. The menu looked fantastic, and so many things sounded good. From the open kitchen (we were sitting basically next to it) I could see a lot of the salads coming out and they looked soooo yummy (I don't frequently say that about a salad). They were out of the flatbread that a family member had ordered and said it would take them too long to make one from scratch with their timeline. They came out right away to alert us of this so something new could be chosen. We got the cobb salad, artichoke and chicken quesadilla, and sierra turkey ciabatta sandwich. All of them were amazing. I got the sierra turkey, and when it came out... oh my word it was HUGE. I took half home. I don't usually like how greens compliment a sandwich (I usually exclude them), but they were fantastic on this sandwich. I was hoping the turkey would be more rotisserie/roasted turkey instead of deli type turkey, but the sandwich was still delicious and the amount of turkey was crazy plentiful. I actually couldn't fit the middle of the sandwich in my mouth in one bite it was so tall. But so delicious. The quesadilla also looked outstanding, and I received confirmation that it was. I would definitely return here. When looking up the menu online so I could remember what exactly my sandwich was called, amongst the lunch and dinner menu, there was a specific menu for "Alexandria and Madison." I have absolutely no idea why, but our menu definitely looks better than the standard and I'll call that a fun plus! There was a $5 mimosa special, which I took advantage of, and the mimosa was a very opaque orange in a champagne glass. I am not a fan, and it really just seems like a way to serve over-priced orange juice. Next time I'll take advantage of their impressive tap menu.

The fish fry was incredible. If you are there Friday night it is inexpensive and unlike any fish fry you have had before. The portions are very generous and breading on the fish is delightfully crisp, unusual and wonderful.

Great restaurant with great food and service. Tried the bbq rotisserie chicken and fried mozzarella. The chicken was their signature dish cooked over a wood fire. Couldn’t be more tender and juicy. The raspberry sauce with the mozzarella balls was fantastic. They are even better when they are hot.

Sean/Shawn was a great wait person and we enjoyed a fantastic meal. My salmon was beautiful in presentation and a delight to the tastebuds! My boyfriend thought his hanger steak was very tasty. After a great meal we just had to have dessert and our desserts were also excellent. Well done Doolittle's!

Delicious food in a warm and welcoming staff. The decor is reminiscent to a rustic club. The smoke scented air stirs the appetite, the dark wood tones provide a soothing atmosphere, the fireplaces keep the zone temperatures perfect. The war time inspired artwork is novel and appealing. Overall, it was a delightful lunchtime dining experience

Great place, stopped by after a movie to discover the latenight specials after 9! Enjoyed the walleye fingers and loved the wings appetizer that tasted like the scent of the restaurant, nice light smoke flavor with a little heat and sweetness!

We have enjoyed Doolittle's each time we've been there. The rotisserie chicken, cooked in the wood fire, is legitimately a featured attraction. Very nicely done. The ambiance is also one of the highlights. This is a classy restaurant, and the quality shows in every aspect. I was also impressed by the beer list, incorporating a good mix of local, regional and national high quality craft beers. They offer a beer flight, with a selection to back it up.

Great diverse menu. My family always wants to go to the Texas Roadhouse Grill where they have pretty much nothing but meat. I was able to get a nice walleye dinner here at Doolittle's.

While the service was slow and the place was not busy, the appetizers and entrees were excellent. I rather enjoyed their craft beer and the vibe of the restaurant was pleasant. I would say that their dessert was not very impressive, but they're overall menu of entrees was delicious. Definitely worth the eat if you're hungry and want something tasty with the family or for a date night.

Walking in the smell was fabulous. Food was pretty tasty. We did not have silverware at our table and had to ask for it when appetizer arrived. Serving size was not what I expected for the price for the "chicken and rib combo", my wife and I split the meal. Raspberry dipping sauce for cheese curds was amazing. Cheese curds were alright, but have had much better and not so greasy. Molten Nivaro was okay, but it was more a muffin than a cake (Chili's molten lava cake is much better). Only 2 waitresses on hand, ours was bartending and she was busy at the bar and also running tables, so service was hit or miss. She did have help from the manager running food out to customers, which was very helpful, otherwise it would have been a much longer wait on food. My wife mentioned that Christian music was playing, which I failed to notice, but was very pleased to hear. Would try again next time we venture this way. Wasn't spectacular overall, but good food and atmosphere.
