Garibaldi Mexican Restaurant

I stopped in for lunch today as someone who is not from the area. Everything was a 10/10 from the service, to all the food and atmosphere. I loved that you can really tell they care about not only the taste of food but also the presentation was beautiful. I got the chicken chimichanga and my boyfriend got the badger burrito. Both were amazing and so was the queso. Would highly recommend trying this restaurant.

Just moved to Madison a week ago and walked into downtown for some tacos and was not disappointed! Some of the best beef and chorizo tacos I’ve had! Will 1000% be back!

Garibaldi is an unlikely named Mexican restaurant on Butler street between E Wash and Wilson near downtown.
When you walk in you see high backed booths and lots of tables. There's a bar and great murals on the walls.
We went on a Saturday afternoon when it wasn't busy at all. We were seated quickly and the waiter was attentive. He quickly brought us complimentary chips and salsa and our drinks.
I had the tri-color enchiladas. My wife had a burrito/enchilada combo.
My enchiladas were very good. The chicken wasn't tough. The cheese in my cheese enchilada, however, wasn't fully melted. That didn't affect the flavor much, but it was unexpected.
My wife commented that her burrito had only chicken in it. No beans, no rice, no anything, which was a little odd. She still enjoyed it, however. Both plates came with beans and rice which were fine.
Overall I would say that Garibaldi is a perfectly solid standard Mexican restaurant. The food is pretty similar to a lot of other Mexican restaurants you've been to, but it's an enjoyable enough place to eat.
If you're in the area and craving Mexican food, this place will not disappoint you.

Hands down the best Mexican food I’ve had in Madison so far. Super happy to have found a place that I’m excited to try multiple things on the menu. I will definitely be back. Atmosphere was perfect. Food was great. Excited to try the drinks next time. The Garibaldi quesadilla was great btw, and for three proteins, rice beans, and guacamole it is fair priced

The guacamole was more water than avocado. The margaritas were more water than tequila and the salsa was tomato sauce without flavor outside of the can it came in oh and the chips were stale. Save yourself the time and disappointment.

Can’t say enough wonderful things about this place! Busy with a happy energetic atmosphere, great food choices and the tacos and enchiladas phenomenal! Took our order to go and definitely not disappointed. Best authentic Mexican food and the SPICY salsa was perfecto! Worth the drive from the Wisconsin Dells area. Every single thing that came out smelled and looked incredible. The enchiladas Verdes were incredible and the margaritas were probably the best ive ever had. Park thing was hard but this place is worth finding a spot a few miles away and walking.

Great little authentic Mexican restaurant. I got their chorizo and eggs and oh my gosh just fabulous. The flavor was all there.
