Staff here are really nice, food is good too. Get to watch the Polar bear through the windows inside pretty cool 🐻❄️❄️💖
We've always had decent food here, but it is pricey. That being said, the zoo itself is free - so it hurts my budget less if I consider it partially to be a donation. And, I feel like their prices have gone up LESS than many restaurants, which makes it seem not so bad now.
Today we got the cheese fries, which come with cheese sauce, pimento cheese (a spreadable dollop on top that quickly warms up), and "badger sauce" which is whatever the white stuff is. Something in there, other than the pimento cheese, is 'Wisconsin spicy', which the rest of the world would consider quite mild. Those with no tolerance for heat and/or little kids may dislike it. But they were fresh, had ample toppings, and were plentiful enough to make the $9 price tag tolerable. It's hard to tell from the photo, but that's a standard fast-food tray and so the fries are fairly thick cut/large.
We'll continue to visit most times we stop by the zoo - but never for a full meal, unless I intend to pay ("donate") $40-60 for a simple lunch for our party of 3-4 people.

Food here sucks. 10 dollars for horrible cheese curds. They expect you to pay a lot of this bad food instead of making better food.

Pretty neat idea that you can dine in and watch the polar bear exhibit. However, the prices are out of this world, for pretty subpar tasting food. Employees did not give any reason to want to come back, but did not necessarily give us a reason to want to leave.

I ordered the club, my sandwich had a moldly tomato, they also had used the butt ends of the loaf of bread for it. When I told the workers they tried to tell me the mold was just the sauce that comes on the sandwich. I corrected them and just told them to remake it, when I got my new sandwich and fries my fries for some reason smelled super bad (like rotten milk). They also lost my sisters ticket which led to her waiting for around 30 minutes for food. Overall really bad experience. Would not recommend.

Super long wait (30min+) for my food as they apparently lost my ticket. There were people in the kitchen with gloves on touching their face and hair and not switching gloves. When I tried to ask the cashier about my food she rudely told me I had to talk to the people at the window about it. Just multiple young people who clearly do not know about food safety or care and have poor work ethic in general. The cherry on top was my sister getting a moldy tomato in her food and the kitchen staff brushing her off and trying to tell her it was the sauce before even asking her for clarification. And her remade food had a spoilt fry that must have been fried bad because it looked fine but smelled like stinky belly button. Would not eat here as it's already over priced and clearly not very safe in the kitchen. I would rather pack a pb and j and eat it in my car than go there again.

Surprisingly good. Our group ordered a Turkey club, the vegan quinoa salad and the brat. All very good. Service was quick.

Next to Glacier Express snack counter, this is an eat-inside place at Henry Vilas Zoo (a treasure!) for a quick lunch. If you want something more hearty, or a glass of wine or a beer, ZuZu Cafe is just across the street from the entrance and has delicious and interesting offerings including good vegetarian options.
