Very disappointing. I ordered the Caesar Salad with Chicken as they were out of salmon. When it was served I could tell that it wasn't going to be good without taking my first bite. I took a bite anyway and it confirmed my suspicions. The dressing wasn't what I think of as being Caesar Dressing. It was thin, clear, and the lettuce was limpy. The chicken wasn't anything to brag about either, just dry little chunks. The server did offer to replace it with another dish, but I had already lost my appetite.

Dining at the Growlers Bar and grill was the highlight of our stay at the Crowne Plaza. I was torn between giving this place 3/4 stars but I decided to go to with 5 instead purely because of Brandon. I am not sure if he would still be working at the bar when you drop by at this grill but he was outstanding. Customer service has always been number one on my list of important things when visiting or staying at a new place and this dude was excellent. We were pleasantly surprised that the hotel had a grill open at the time of our arrival with a decent menu and a good choices of salads and entrées, and a good bar menu. They have a good selection of wines and beers and you also can pick from a short list of cocktails. The food is good, on day 1 we both tried the rum laden bacon bbq burger and one day 2 we each had a salad, me the Cobb and my wife the Quinoa, both salads were biggg and filling. Thanks Brandon for a 5 star customer service experience on both days.

We were not intending on eating here in the hotel, but the weather was bad so we ate in. This was not the greatest experience. The waiter/ bartender was amazing. Super attentive great drinks. One of the best old fashions I have ever had. The food was another story. 2 ladies ordered the rib eye. It was not worth the price. Not cooked correctly, the well done was pink and the medium was almost raw. I chose the cheeseburger. The outside looked ok but upon cutting it in half, the burger was cold and raw. The waiter did all he could, including microwaving the part of the well done steak that was rare. I would not recommend eating here.

Decided on room service tonight as I didn't feel like going out. I expected to eat pretty average hotel food but I have to say my meal was great! The server who took my order was extremely helpful in answering my questions and the food came up fast. I had the gruyere and shroom burger sans bun and asked for a side of grilled veggies for the fries. The burger was cooked perfectly and the garlic aioli was amazing. I wish I would have ordered extra. I was so happy the grilled veggies weren't the traditional mix of broccoli and carrots. It was green and yellow beans, zucchini, peppers and onions. Very happy I ordered as it was quick, easy, and delish!

Decent food and prices for a hotel restaurant. Competitive with restaurants in the surrounding area, as there are many nearby. Side salad was fresh and burger was good. Although requested medium and it came well done as is the case the majority of time I go anywhere and request medium on a burger. But bread and beef was of good quality.

Awful service. I got a drink from the bar and waited for twenty minutes for a server to come out, and when he finally did, he completely ignored me.

Terrible. Walk across the street and get a competitively priced meal with 10x better service and significantly better food.

Convenient if your staying here. Not much if a menu, but, what is there is decent. Everything looked to be standard food service supplied food. Note to manager: get creative! !

I had dinner at Growlers while staying at the Crowne Plaza in Madison. I usually steer away from hotel restaurants for dinners, because they tend to be pricey and the food quality is usually not as good. I had dinner with a business associate of mine upon our arrival - we decided to give it a try because it was snowing pretty hard and we didn't want to venture out. They have a great drink menu which is organized by type of liquor, which is very easy to order from if you don't know exactly what you want. The mixed drinks were well made, and they have several local beers on tap (a little pricey for drafts). Both me and my dinner mate had the beer cheese soup and it was just okay - it lacked some real flavor. Our server was great, friendly and was willing to offer recommendations. I ordered the salmon (her recommendation) and it was very good as were the vegetables that came with it. My dinnermate ordered the sausage sandwich, who said it was VERY dry and lacked flavor. There are a lot of options for dinner in the Madison area - there is a giant shopping plaza with many restaurants near the Crowne Plaza hotel. I would recommend stopping at Growlers for a drink before dinner or a nightcap, but go out for dinner elsewhere.

Located in the Crowne Plaza hotel, Growlers Bar and Grill is a comfortable place to eat and drink. Since I was saying the the Crowne Plaza, this was just downstairs. I did not expect much. The food was very good and tasty and the draft beer selection was good too. I decieded to only eat and drink there for my stay.

We had dinner at the restaurant in the Crowne Plaze Hotel. The menu offered a WIDE variety of items. A large colorful billboard advertized the hamburgers. We chose to have a dinner salad with our meal. It was fresh but dissapointing for six bucks. We had the boneless Southern ribs. Four small dry slices of pork came on a plate with bottled BBQ sauce drizzled over as a garnish. The steak was done perfectly, however it was tasteless. The only thing we could say had flavor, was the garlic mashed potatoes served with both meals. The gourmet descriptions and prices left us feeling cheated for ordering this meal.
