Not ADA friendly. After a long day of moving our kid into their apartment for school, we tried to grab a late bite. This place had a few people sitting at tables outside and at the bar but most of the tables inside were empty. Since it was a bit hot and humid we tried to enter with our service dog but we were promptly told we could sit outside but not indoors with a dog. After informing them that it was a medical service dog and it was a federal law we were told that it doesn't matter the owner said no animals. We will not be back. We ended up going to vintage brewing company outside of town and had some great burgers and beer and possibly the best fries we've ever eaten and there was no mention about us having our service dog there. They even provided water for her. Do better!

Update: Hawk you have responded that it's not what happened. Please clarify my misunderstanding. Are you saying we were not refused indoor service?

Unapologetically slow. Food marginal. Surprising as there’s a lot of choices close by how they survive Best of luck but first and last time for me

Fun food. Quiet, dark, and nice- hidden gem of a late lunch spot. We typically go on Mondays and really enjoy it. We have had multiple menu items. Bar food, burger, sandwich style.

I totally enjoyed visiting Hawk's Bar in Madison, Wisconsin on August 3, 2024. The bartender was Jimmy, and he was excellent at his job. He provided friendly and helpful customer service. Hawk's has enough craft beers to keep me more than happy. Although I didn't eat there, the food menu looked very good, too. I definitely recommend Hawk's Bar.

I'm going to start off with....I love Hawk's. I lived downtown for 10 years and enjoyed beers outside along State Street, and frequented during World Cup matches. Great place to watch. I haven't been there in a while, but visited with my brother this past weekend. We had one tap beer, and I have to question: Do you clean your tap lines? Zero complaints and nothing but compliments for certain. Hawk's is a great State Street establishment and a very good place for a street-side drink and some people watching.

As an Iowa City and NYC dual native, whenever I'm in Madtown this is my go-to spot. I love the atmosphere and crowd lots!

Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Fries took 24 minutes. (Yes, a pre-meal tip was included).Would probably try again, but would be skeptical.
