Worst experience I’ve had in Grand Rapids! We drove from Wisconsin for HopCat. Made a reservation and missed it, which is my fault. Re-made a reservation and didn’t get any notification. Went back in and they said we missed our reservation and the wait tripled. The staff was not friendly. I wouldn’t visit this location.

Just a quick THANK YOU for having burger options that a vegan can enjoy. It's so hard to find a restaurant where you can go with friends, and order a full meal off of the menu. Perfect spot for a vegan burger, fries, and local beer :)

HopCat, there are so many reasons you deserve 5 stars. For having THIRTY beers on tap. For your bartender who let me sample a few before deciding. For the plates of cheese curds brought to our large table, complimentary, to keep us happy because there might be a wait. For the server who kept individual checks for all 15 of us.For the fact that you compost your bathroom paper towels! (Turning them into soil, not more landfill waste! This alone deserves 10 stars, for making a small yet important change that shows the rest of us that institutionalized changes are possible) For having delicious, creative, and un-anticipatedly pleasing bar food. For having the Impossible Burger on the menu (even tho you were currently out). For having kale slaw and quinoa options for us alternative folks, alongside those staples like chicken wings and Mac N Cheese.Thank you for being awesome. Mostly: thank you for composting.

The food was really tasty. It was hard to choose what to get because everything sounded so good. Everyone I went with was very happy with the food as well. The beer selection was really good and the one I picked was amazing! Staff was super friendly, overall great atmosphere! Can't wait to go back again!

The food here was insane! So good! We had wings, fries, and drinks. We will be talking and dreaming about those fries for the rest of life. Music and vibe were inviting and it was a great place for lunch.

Great food and incredibly good fries. If you're a fan of pepper, the fries are a must. The cowboy burger is also above average. The restaurant itself has comfortable seating and plenty of room.

Trying this spot for the first time with a takeout order. The vegan burger - Before the Butcher - was outstanding. Great flavor! We also ordered a gluten free burger. There was a mess-up on that order. When we called to let them know, Mike set it right and offered us a refund, as well. Thanks for the great customer service in correcting an honest mistake! Friendly staff too

This is a beer lovers dream.. tons of beers on tap. I don't like beer, but I do love cats.. so my husband and I aways make this a stop when we are in Madison. There's really nothing related to cats with the place though.. except for the name. I did purchase an awesome logo tee!

It is great to see a business conscious about the environment and their level of waste. Hopcat diverts up to 90% of their waste from landfills. All of their single use service items are made from renewable resources. Even the paper towels in the bathroom are compostable. French fries are an absolute must get on the menu. They are beer battered and peppered . Smashburger is a solid choice as well. They do have vegetarian burger options as well. Tacos are also tasty. They're huge so depending on how hungry you are you may only want two and a side. The beer menu is extensive. They will definitely have what you are looking for. I'm a cider fan myself and they had a hidden cave cidery lemongrass lavender cider that's dry. Amazing flavor and not at all sweet. My personal heaven. Everything is really moderately priced too.
