Disappointed after waiting 40 minutes for 4 sandwiches and despite the name being Hot Sandwiches, my sandwich was not hot. For the price and size of the sandwich, there are far better options

A great little spot for drinks and food. Our sandwiches were fantastic. The whiskey tea cocktail was superb. I loved the atmosphere and general vibe. Will definitely return when I'm in the neighborhood.

Really cool 90s vibe. Lots of old school decor. Menu is small but packs a punch. I ordered the meatball sandwich but everything looked amazing. Tried the grape soda and it was excellent. Definitely want to stop in again for

1st time stopping here for lunch & we will for sure be back. I asked bartender Glen what the best sandwiches was & he said all of them. He was not wrong!! Owner & chef Micheal made the best sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. My husband, daughter & I tried each of our sandwiches the turkey, the classic,& pulled chicken. We couldn’t pick a favorite. The tomato bisque & mac n cheese were also amazing. The fun atmosphere was enjoyable to look at during the short wait. Highly recommend!!

Found this place on a whim thanks to Yelp! Glad we did, and will be back! What a great room. Nails the 80's/90's retro vibe without overdoing it.When we visited, they had Freaks & Geeks on one TV and Fresh Prince of Bel Air on the other.Smallish menu, but what's on there is wicked good.I laughed hard when I saw they had both "Ting" (Jamaican soda) and "Tang" (which both my kids ordered) on the menu. Great house-made sodas, tooVery good sandwiches here on awesome bread. I had the Italian Beef, and it rocked. It's a small spot, and you order at the cash register before sitting down. Service couldn't have been friendlier or any more helpful. Amazing since there seemed to be a staff of two when we were there - one in the kitchen, one at the bar/register.Retro candy comes with the meal for dessert, too!Saw a review that said, "If there's a restaurant in Madison that's more fun than Hot Lunch, please tell me what it is."That absolutely nails it.Take a date, bring your parents when they visit, go for late night grub, or crack your weekend hangover at Hot Lunch!

I've been here 4-5 times now, and each time is simply spectacular. I've tried the hot beef, meatball, pulled chicken.. they're all unreal. You can tell the staff cares, and they're always super friendly. Go to sandwich spot in Madison.

Yum. Such Yum. This is inconveniently located for me and yet, I'm trying to figure out when I can go back. The potato chips are forgettable. Don't recommend that add-on. The homemade orange soda is expensive but so good. I had the hot beef and it. was. a.m.a.z.i.n.g., but also pretty expensive, especially with no sides. I got it with all the add-ons (cheese, peppers, etc). I still highly recommend, but be prepared to spend a decent amount on this, especially for lunch.
