We were out of town from Milwaukee, chose this restaurant because of the proximity to the hotel we stayed in. The staff were very friendly but the management of this place leaves much to be desired. For a table of 11 and the over $1000 bill with 20%+ mandatory gratuity added, it felt like the server was more concerned with smaller tables as we were a sure thing. Sat for over 30 minutes with no service on drink orders. From there we waited another 30 minutes to order and by the time we ate my young cousins were sleeping in their chairs and everyone was famished. The dinner took well over 3 hours to complete, we left exhausted and the food was mediocre. My son has an extremely severe food allergy and the server brought 3-4 rounds of sharables with nuts on every one. By the end of it, we just limited what he could eat and let it go. If this were a mid level diner I would be fine but for these prices I will never go back. It was a special night that turned into an exhaustive experience. The only good out of it was catching up with family and the staff was very polite even with all the mistakes.
The food and service here were phenomenal. I know leaving five stars for stuff can be overselling it sometimes but I feel its genuinely deserved here. The strip steak was easily the most tender, flavorful cut of steak I've ever eaten. Expensive but its more than worth it. I'll definitely be coming back here next time I'm in Madison.

Celebrated our one year anniversary last evening with dinner at Johnny Delmonico's, the food was amazing, however our server was out of this world! One of the best servers I have ever had.

I was given a $300 gift card for this place. Meal was ok, steaks didn’t need the extra salt they added. Service was actually great. However when the bill came they wouldn’t accept the gift card. Blamed their internet. It would work for my credit card processing but not gift cards. They verified the amount available on the card but would only accept my credit card.
If I didn’t have a gift card and if my credit cards wouldn’t work I’m sure they would have worked something out. But they held firm. You don’t leave till you pay. Nothing else was possible.

First, time for enjoying your place! This will not be the last time we will be there! Everything single detail no matter what it was the staff went above and beyond to make sure that they treated us like royalty! The food was out of this world and the steak that we order was simply the greatest we have ever eaten! 5 stars all around and can’t wait to experience this amazing restaurant again!

We were looking for an upscale steak restaurant and this place seemed to fit the bill. The dining room and bar were inviting but it definitely looks bigger on the outside than it actually is on the inside. The staff are attentive and genuinely want to make sure you have a great experience. We tried a number of items from the menu. The Manhattan was good but im not a fan of the dry vermouth additive. For aps we had oysters (PEI), French onion soup, bone marrow. All were good but the soup was more like a stew and not edible (staff were quick to adjust from our bill). Split a wedge salad. Huge and easily a share. A little heavy on the dressing but still good. Also split an 8 Oz filet with mushroom risotto. I found steak a little over salted and the risotto lacking in depth. But both were cooked perfectly otherwise. Creme brule was excellent. I would try again because the staff were that good. If the kitchen can make some basic improvements this place would be a home run.

Another great experience at Johnny Delmonico's. We enjoyed their thoughtfully prepared pre-Valentine's Day menu. The food was wonderful, service impeccable (thanks JP), and the vibe was lively and fun. If you've never been, do it. You won't regret it. If you've been, go again. Johnny D's has never disappointed me.

Beautiful, relaxing atmosphere. Top service from greeting to goodbye. We had a reservation and were seated at a window table. Our waitress was attentive, kind, helpful and a perfect person to assist us for the meal. Our steaks, petite tenderloin prepared medium/rare and medium/well, were excellent!! Exactly as ordered. We choose the garlic mashed potatoes and shaved brussel sprouts for our sides, again delicious. Our drinks were fine, my Tanquery and tonic, with a lemon, came with a gargantuan wedge of lemon. I felt that with this type of upscale restaurant the presentation could have been better....but this is the only negative comment. Everything else was wonderful, my husband and I had a memorable dinner last evening. Convenient parking is available at Block 89 parking ramp.
Please judge for yourself, but this was not a good experience. My wife and I had Overture tickets, so we had plenty of time with an early arrival for a 5:45 reservation. The bar looked great, and we got seated at a very picturesque corner two-top with great window views. Things were moving a little slow, but no big deal. Ten minutes in, we had not even ordered drinks yet. We just expected a bit more attention at a top restaurant. We had plenty of time to view the menu. When the waiter finally did arrive, we ordered drinks, an appetizer, and dinner. The waiter said he would pace everything on delivery. He could tell that I was a bit unsure about ordering all at once, but he did seem busy. We ordered steak tartare. It was probably at the bottom rung of this dish that I have had at other places. It just seemed like it had sat in the fridge a few days and was not fresh, even with some “gray” areas. The worst part is that the appetizer came out way before the drinks. We waited until the drinks came. I had a martini that was quite good. My wife had a decent glass of Bordeaux. I did expect a higher level restaurant to even get food deliveries in the correct order. Even the bread came late, which the waiter promised before taking orders. It was fresh bread and butter, but pretty unremarkable, at least in our opinion. Delivery after the appetizer was also poor form. I ordered the bone-in ribeye medium rare to medium. My wife ordered the filet mignon medium. I got a burnt piece of shoe-leather with gristle and my wife got a burnt, stringy filet. I don’t know if it was just bad meat or totally inept cooking, but it was the lowest quality I have ever tasted. When the plates were delivered, I had hoped to order a glass of wine, but our waiter was again not to be found. I went to the hostess and asked for the manager. I just gave the food back and picked up a pie at TeddyWedgers for 6 bucks that was better than the $82 steak. I gave the waiter a $20 because I felt bad. The inept cooking was not his fault. The manager gave me a card, so I sent him an email. We will see. They did wave the cost, but I found the food to be disgusting and the service poor. There was no attention to detail, and they only wanted to flip tables quickly to maximize their profits. The quality of food was very low, and the tartare was not fresh or was leftover too long. Yuck! Foodfight wants to make money and they are cutting a lot of corners in my experience. I hope if you read this, you will have better luck than I did on a Saturday night with reservations two months in advance! I did send an email to the manager, at his request, and he never got back to me. You will also notice on Google reviews (that I resubmitted here), that the owner only responds to favorable reviews. It is very clear they do not care. Roll the dice folks! Some people really like the place!

This restaurant always has consistently good service, attentive, but not hovering. Vibe is also quite good. Ask for a window seat if you want a more quiet experience.
Steaks were good as was the sea bass. My medium rare filet was not quite rare enough so if that is important emphasize it.
Vegetables were good, but the brocollini was over done and had way too much olive oil/flavoring on it.
Overall good experience Will return.
