Calamari po boy was lacking in sauce, bread was good. Fried calamari was tender and plentiful in the sandwich. Big portion of fries.Ordered the Manhattan chowder bowl and only had two small pieces of fish and no other seafood. Flavor of the tomato based soup, seasoning and seafood was pleasant. Plenty of veggies in the soup.Friendly lady at the register. No tap to pay. Will have to try fishboil or fish fry next time.

Fantastic food and exemplary service from Jeremiah! Came to town for a show and checked out this restaurant. It is beautiful and clean. Would strongly recommend. Had the oysters, mussels, onion rings, and hush puppies.

Fish tacos were awesome. Jeremiah is a great employee and took his time with us first timers.

I really like this place! Tucked in north monona is truly this seafood company. It's part fish counter and counter ordering restaurant, but doubly great and obviously known for their fish! I got the fish boil with creamy slaw and my partner got the 2 piece cod fish fry with potato salad and New England clam chowder. Let's start off with what was exceptional; -Chowder: incredible. Savory, rich, lots of clams, with a touch of acid. You tasted the cream but it was cut with lemon and maybe some wine? I think it's easily one of the best soups in Madison and I will order it every time I'm back -Cod: this fish fry was a great portion, the fish was fried perfectly and the crust was really well seasoned. The tartar sauce that came with it was also really tasty, not too sweet and hit just right with the fish -Potato Salad: this was well seasoned, good portioned, perfect ratio of sauce to potato and the good thick pieces of potato. It paired super well with the fish fry, even better than coleslaw. Here is what I think could have been better -Coleslaw; something was missing. It was kinda creamy, kinda vinegary, but lacked a bit of flavor still. Maybe some pepper? Not sure but wasn't impressed -Fish Boil: I really wanted to like this especially due to the description, as it sounds like what the clam chowder tasted like! But it was more on the bland side. Adding tartar sauce and some tobasco helped. Like usual fish boils I expected bones but there weren't any, which was nice but the fish pieces were small, tho yummy. I think what threw me about this boil was the carrots, onions, and celery. It's more for a fish stew than a door county boil. Overall, I'll be back and would give this 4.5 stars. Staff is super friendly and the lounge next door is awesome for a drink!!

Meh.... I understand that Covid is still a factor in staffing, so I am reluctant to bury them. But this is my experience.Shrimp Po Boy had way to much sauce on it and the flavor didn't compliment the shrimp. The cod sandwich was greasy and bland. Tartar sauce in packets?? Long wait for take-out and the three times I have been there it was not busy at all. If they ever got busy it seems it would be a hot mess.Seafood in the Midwest is tough to pull off. I wish them luck.

Visited Lake Edge to try their seafood selection for lunch. I ordered the shrimp po boy which came with 1 side. I chose the onion rings with my meal. Overall, the meal was very filling and tasted delicious. The shrimp were fried and breaded to a crisp and served with fresh lettuce and tomatoes. The po boy had Louisiana hot sauce and their house sauce. The onion rings were average. They were breaded nicely, but the onion slices themself were very thin and it was mostly like eating fried batter. Overall, solid spot for lunch -- will come back for the po boy again!

Has great food...when it's open. Always call first because they close on a whim and don't post it on their website or Google. I have a love/hate relationship with this place because they aren't very customer focused. Also they put this cayenne msg type salt blend on their fries, so if you're intolerant ask for them plain.

Went here on a Saturday for lunch after seeing that they had Bucky Book coupons. The place was pretty empty, but there was some come and go traffic of people just there to pick up fish and side items from the market. We ordered the shrimp Po'boy and the southwest smoked trout wrap, both with a vinegar slaw. The smoked trout wrap actually ended up being a smoked salmon wrap, since they were out of the trout. The tortilla for the wrap was a tasty sundried tomato and there was a good balance of greens, smoked salmon, bacon, and avocado to dressing. It really did let the smoked salmon stand out. The Po'boy was pretty average and I would say a little overpriced. It's $14.95 and you do get a side, but there are only 4 shrimp on the sandwich. The French hoagie was soft with a little outer crunch, just what you want, and did well absorbing the Cajun remoulade. For my preference there was a little too much remoulade for the amount of shrimp, but it had good flavor. The coleslaw seemed kind of creamy, without having cream, so we're not sure how they pulled that off, but it was pretty solid. Overall, everything tasted pretty good. It is just priced a little higher than I would expect given the portion sizes.

Grouchy staff. EXpensive lobster roll was 90% celery and mayo yuk. Never again

Great quality seafood. The fried calamari is the best we've had, and we're a bit foodie-like with our food reviews. The hush puppies were quite good, but this Southerner needs a bit more onions. Sweet open spacing with the tables. We'll be back!

Being originally from WI I grew up on Friday night fish fry (Lake Perch). I now live in another state and came to Madison to visit relatives. Thought I would try this place since they had Lake Perch on menu.. 4 flat pieces of perch were breaded and fried to a crisp. Had more breading than perch! Came with two sides (fries and onion rings that were bland in taste.. sorry I won't be back but do wish you well.

Being a Wisconsin native, a Friday fish fry is just something that is a part of you. It's Friday, well better find a fish fry!! In my eyes Lake Edge Seafood Company does exactly what you need for a Friday fish fry. Ok ok so it not all you can eat, no it's not family style like the supper club fish fry. But what it IS, is a decent fish fry with a nice section of side dishes, not just plain ol' French fries. This time I went for hush puppies and Mac 'n Cheese, I mean come on, I am born and raised in Wisconsin, I'm not going to pass up a side of warm gooey Mac 'n Cheese! Which it is!! The hush puppies did seem to be a tad over fried but not dark by any means, although I'm not a hush puppy connoisseur so maybe that's how that's how they are supposed to be. The fish is a lightly spiced beer batter. The fish is flaky and delicious. The indoor seating is clean and spacious. The staff was kind and courteous.

This is such a great option in Madison for fresh seafood and lunch/dinner. My family has bought mussels/salmon from here for home-cooked meals, but their prepared food is equally delicious! My dad loves their New England Clam Chowder (it may be his favorite in Madison), and I've tried two different sandwiches and absolutely loved both. I got the codwich with a side of onion rings, and it was super flavorful + only $9.95 for the whole meal. I also got the salmon salad blt with hush puppies ($12.95) on another occasion, and this one blew me away! It was such a good combination, and it was the perfect portion for lunch. The hush puppies were tasty too, and I love that you have a wide variety of side options, and you aren't limited with what you can get. I will definitely be returning to try more menu options and to continue buying fresh seafood.
