LJs has been my go-to sports bar in Madison. It offers a great layout for watching all the screens, and they always turn on the sound for major games. However, it sometimes can get a bit too loud with the volume, making it hard to have a conversation without raising your voice. It's also a great spot to grab a drink before or after a show or a Madison Forward game. The tap beer prices are reasonable for downtown, and they have a nice variety of choices. The food menu is solid for a bar setting. Lately, though I've noticed that they seem to have a stretched-thin staff, which is unfortunate because they are diligent and always make an effort to acknowledge customers. During my recent visit on a date I wanted to see some of the NFL draft & my guy was more interested in a particular NBA playoff game that was in network. Several screens were playing a repeat of a Brewer’s game which I knew they lost earlier in the afternoon. Boo lol ;-) We politely asked a couple staggered times if one of the screens could be changed, but it didn't go well. In hindsight, we probably should have closed out after the drink and gone elsewhere, as it turned into a frustrating evening. I felt disappointed because more than often the reason one goes to a sports bar is to watch a game. It was to be a win-win. My guy & I could both watch our events. If they’re facing staffing challenges, they should consider having a better system in place to manage the TV setup in advance. I will return to LJs, but I'm not in a rush hoping they’ll take feedback into consideration. It makes a huge difference when the staff feels supported by their management so I am trying to be understanding from bartenders perspective too. I just don’t want to have another bad date. ;-)
Good sports bar
Good drinks and snacks
Stopped in for dinner on a Friday night. Able to get a great table by the window right away!
Great service, food was really good - Ruben and Fish Tacos.
Met the owner, found out he graduated from the same High School that my Spouse and I attended also. Also, knew a lot of the same people!
Solid food. Wings were great. Staff was friendly. I'll be back.
fish nuggets fresh out the microwave and claim its perch fish. 100% GARBAGE FOOD
French fries were sooooo good
It was extremely busy our food was good and service was excellent. Tim who I assume is the general manager was extremely efficient serving drinks to a full bar without any assistance and also serving food, we took note of how nobody was waiting for service because he was on it.
I’m an Eagles fan living in Madison. They always have a TV available and are super nice making sure I’m taken care of. Their food is great too. Get their chicken wrap with sweet potato fries
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!. great food and service.i will definitely go back

Friendly staff, big bar with lots of screens. They let my hubby and me watch our two out of town games that no one local cares about. TY! Took off one star for the food. The stuffed pretzels were only half stuffed. Everything else was great.

LJ's is a great sports bar! The space is the perfect place to watch games. They have many screens, with Sunday Ticket, Prime, and Peacock to make sure they have every game. The service is awesome. Shawna always is excellent, but I've never had bad service from anyone! I like the food too. The fish fry (available every day) is really good. I like the lake perch and walleye best, and the coleslaw is my favorite in town. Burgers with Jenifer Street Market meat are also great. $7.75 double rail mixers all day long doesn't hurt either.
I get groceries at Festival and will usually go grab lunch, and I always leave satisfied.

Husband and I were going to a show at the sylvee and we wanted to grab some food. Found ljs right down the street. Daniel greeted us with a smile and "what's up guys!" And we felt welcomed right away. Food was super fast and he made me a fruity drink that he won't tell me the name (I need to come back if I want it again ?) all in all great food, service , and environment. Definitely coming back again if we're in town!
