Full disclosure - you will wait, and it will be worth every single minute. if there's no line, you might be in the wrong place.

The efficiency of the front of house staff, from the greeter, to the counter staff, to the expediters, was unmatched in my experience and is likely a large part of their continued success.

I'm from (south) Florida and the Cubano couldn't have been better if I had been sitting at a South Beach café.

The food was exciting, refreshing, and delicious.

Marigold Kitchen is a gem in downtown Madison.

Good food but almost always a line on weekends. You can choose to sit outside for a slightly expedited process.

We had a great experience here overall! The food was excellent—flavorful, light, and refreshingly portioned like a human actually intends to eat it (no mountain of potatoes on the side, thank you very much). Service was impressively efficient, too.

It’s not a traditional sit-down restaurant—you line up, order at the counter, and your food is brought out pretty quickly. Tables turn over fast, and for such a small space with high demand, the system works really well. The space itself is bright and cheerful, which adds to the overall experience. A great little spot we’d happily return to!

Holy buckets. Breakfast was amazing. We went both morning while in town for the weekend.

Was super crowded at lunchtime and entirely full with a waiting time of 20 minutes (estimated). I got a turkey sandwich to go. Took about ten minutes. No complaints at all. Was certainly loud inside, so not best for lunchtime discussions. Next time I go I'll pick a between breakfast and lunch time slot. Lol. Good food. Best sandwich I've ever had, no, but great for the area. Might do breakfast there tomorrow. Staff was very helpful for a tourist who didn't know what to do a super crowded place.

I wish I had taken this photos of the food before I dug in. Delicious chilequiles, and even better ranchos huervos. The food is extremely fresh and flavorful. It's a unique take on something I've seen in every form, but they get it right with little surprises in every bite. Do yourself a favor and get the orange juice. The fresh sweetness really helps stabilize the slight spice and heaviness of the food.

Went here for a cup of coffee, stayed for the french toast. The atmosphere was great and the staff were friendly and professional. I highly recommend Marigold Kitchen for coffee and breakfast. I'll have to be sure to get back and try lunch soon.
On a side note, there was a customer who arrived and was completely out of line and rude to other customers and staff. The staff handled the incident with grace and professionalism. This is the main reason I'm writing this review. The staff went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and apologized for having to see that scene.

Cubano latte with oat milk was tiny but delicious. The bottled Juiced juice was also fabulous (made in Milwaukee). Sausage links were great. Blueberry pancakes were small and underwhelming. Almost no flavor and the texture wasn’t fluffy how I’d like, more stiff. My husband had the Gruyère and ham omelette which was cold inside - the cheese wasn’t even melted. The ham tasted quality but the pieces were very large for an omelette. The potatoes were good he said, but I thought they lacked flavor. We likely won’t be back. Too many other great places in Madison for breakfast & brunch.

If you’re looking for a place with excellent, and prompt service, look further! There is absolutely zero table service here, in fact don’t even expect to have water brought to your table, because you have to get it yourself. My mistake for leaving a 25% tip, as service was exponentially worse than a Chinese buffet.

had to wait in long line before we could be sat, which is fine. You order at the front then sit down and they bring you your food which is very cute! You have to fill up your own waters which is kind of annoying when you are expecting a more restaurant vibe. The girl who took my order accidentally added another dish onto the bill that we did not want, we only found out because they brought it out to our table and we said something. If it wasn't for this we wouldn't have known, especially because there was not receipt post order. Once again super annoying and I almost spend $10 extra and had no idea. The food was overall okay, it came out cold which was extremely disappointing considering the amount of money that was spent on it. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and they were good, just cold and the butter on them wasnt melting so that was not the best. Chilaquiles are amazing and actually came out warm (not hot) so it was more pleasurable to eat. Save yourself the money and don't get the below average breakfast potatoes. I personally was not a fan, but maybe they are better when they come out and are warm. Best part of this brunch was definitely the coffee, I got the churro latte iced and it was actually divine. Would be back for coffee, but would perhaps avoid for brunch.

Very cute place! I ordered the tempeh/grain bowl made vegan and an oat milk latte and both were delicious. Highly recommend for great vegan options in town!
