My co worker she's from Chicago also she recommended them to me. I wasn't disappointed at all. I got a 3 piece catfish lemon pepper with mild sauce and it was awesome!! This is the closest I can get to chicago. The owner was very insightful and very nice. Thank you so much for the good food. The mild sauce on the fries was really good. I will be back. ?
McGees has been around for a while and has never done people wrong with their food. They have some good home cooked food right here. They have sea food and chicken. But this restaurant is more than that. They have a lot to choose from. It's family owned and some great people. If you're looking for some good home style food even for that Sunday family time sitting at that table eating, this is the spot to come to for sure.

Over cooked gizzards, burnt (yet soggy) fries, an ok gyro lacking tomato (there was half a slice of tomato). But, the worst thing, nasty and dirty. Floors filthy, ceiling tiles disgusting, food counter dirty. I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like.
The price is right!! We got a chicken dinner , cheeseburger and side of greens for $21!! Excellent and nice woman at the counter. Thanks!

I was excited to finally get McGees since they closed down on the south side of Madison, WI so we made a special trip across town almost 30 minutes for the same bland inconsistent food. We specifically went for the greens so my wife got a pork chop dinner.... wait did I mention we waited 2 hrs for there 12 Oclock open so with that said I got a 4 piece chicken dinner. We both got greens and yams but before I go in on these disappointments let's talk about the chicken wings. For them to had just open why are fried wings soggy... AND SMELL LIKE FISH. They where lightly fried "being generous or condendsending," and did I say it smelled like fish with a perchy after taste and I'm not sure if the sell perch all I seen was catfish. And finally the greens... why do we try to pass off canned greens as fresh greens. Smh nothing but disappointment. The best part was the little Ole lady that took my order very pleasant.I didn't finish the 4 piece ? ate 2 of the wings and the yams which where more like mashed yams. Anyway didn't finish the wife and I decided to lay down with the boys for there nap and let's just say I woke up with a headache and my stomach feels a little funny. Definitely won't be returning. Would of posted a picture but Google won't let me when I push the button. ?

People listen I received the wrong order and after waiting 30 min listening to to owner asking for customer to join is church and saying he got shot and went to prison and left Chicago . This man wouldn't refund my money or replace it /know I ask Wisconsin is that a church going man or a pin preacher/ so I told him put the money on his knew car.please stay away from his church in Chicago and sun Wisconsin.
