MEXLI Mexican Breakfast

Came on a Monday morning. Was the only table in the building. Food was excellent - it’s hard to find good chilaquiles!!

Ok I’m obsessed. I loved my experience at Mexli! I had a huevos rancheros dish that I would eat every day. I also tried pancakes and French toast, and they were great!

My husband and I went on a Friday morning. It was very quiet around 8:30am. I was glad to hear from a friend that it’s busy on the weekends! I need this place to stick around!

We had such a pleasant and delicious breakfast here. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The food is great. Everyone agreed that we will be back soon!

The food is absolutely superb and the atmosphere is a lovely lean on authentic with just the right amount of modernity. Top it off with the friendliest staff, 10/10 highly recommend!! Definitely in my top brunch rotation!!

Our second time here. Did not disappoint. Husband and I shared the chilaquiles Norteñitos and pancakes Fritos rojos. Everything was good. Will definitely go back.

I ordered the tlacoyo, and it was excellent. The nopales served on top were the best I’ve ever eaten. This is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant in Madison.

Terrific and unique breakfast spot for Madison. We had the Huevos Rancheros and Churro Pancakes. Both were phenomenal. Also loved the relaxed atmosphere.

Beautiful new place with colorful cheerful decor. Amazing variety in the menu, many dishes I’ve never heard of before - 8 different kinds of chilaquiles! All great fresh flavorful ingredients and portions are overwhelming. Every customer we saw left with boxes. Highest recommendation.

This was a bit of an unfortunate experience. This place has great reviews, and a very interesting menu that has items I haven't seen in Madison before.
Unfortunately, the front of the house is pretty poorly managed and the staffing is not effectively allocated.
We got there at ~10:15 am to find the lobby full of people. We were told it would be a half hour wait.
At twenty five minutes three parties left in quick succession, leaving the dining room half empty. The hostess seated two two tops making us next up.
At forty minutes I went up to check in with her, but as soon as I got to her she looked at me and just picked up menus and took us to the third empty table.
They had one server working the entire place.
It took another 25 minutes for her to come over to us. Things went quicker then.
Our food was well prepared, my kids really liked theirs. Mine was okay, but that was about my choice. It was well prepared, it just wasn't a great choice.
While we were eating a man who seemed to be the owner or manager came out from the back to help the server bring dishes out from the kitchen, which sped things up quite a bit. The one server was nice, but completely overwhelmed. The hostess was mostly standing at the host stand watching TV.
The food was good, but not good enough to mitigate the poor management of the front.
