Great food and service.
French toast was way better than expected.
Late morning and slow spell was nice. Fair prices, good sized portions. Camp Randall one block away. Worth a long stop here.

OMG! What an amazing place!

Old School - as in probably not renovated since it was opened in 1947, and charming as can be.

food was absolutely outstanding, one of the best breakfasts I have ever eaten, and I am a big fan of breakfasts. And the portion size was remarkable - I'm a big guy and a big eater, and I had enough left over for tomorrow's breakfast (you had better believe I took it home with me).

Great service, friendly, altogether excellent. Cash only, there is an ATM

An outstanding example of a classic American diner--not some gilded interpretation of Norman Rockwell, but a real old-school, working class establishment where the portions are huge, the food is delicious, the menu is classic, the payments are cash, and you can find yourself bantering with the friendly staff. Basically, this is the kind of restaurant that helped build this nation.

Popular diner, generous food portion, friendly staff. Street parking is available. Sunday morning wait was about half an hour. We're so glad we found Mickies!

Wow!! What a great place for breakfast. The scrambles was delicious!! There was so much food I couldn't finish it and I can eat a lot of food , like a grizzly bear getting ready to hibernate!!!

I cannot RAVE more about what a fantastic place this is. Food - excellent. Atmosphere - Excellent. Service - some of the best I've had in year; kind, cheerful, polite, professional. You know a place is good when 15 minutes before opening, the street is lined with elderly men waiting in their cars for it to open.

Stopped by on a Thursday morning for breakfast. Very classic 50s diner atmosphere. It felt like home even thought it was my first visit. The food portions are huge and fair on price. Highly recommend!!!

easy going diner, tight seating but no issue with that cuz it means more seating. my steak and eggs meal had very fatty steak so less meat and more sinew and fat that was super chewy --skip this, not worth it. I plan to come back and have the scrambler or other traditional items.

Classic 40s dinner. They work hard to maintain a period place, from menus displayed that show a ham and cheese omelette for 65 cents. Great wait staff and good cooks. New go-to for us in Madison!
